Amazing amazing experience visiting this castle. We pre-booked our tickets online and went straight to the entrance. Audio guides are worth it as they provide a ton of information about the history of the castle. And also include tidbits about various museum artifacts. There are several small museum
...awesome experience when going with the family. This trip was based on my 5 Yr old learning about castle at school, so we drove up to Scotland for the weekend. History, location and weather (even though very wet) add to the atmosphere of the day. Worth a visit.
Amazing castle. Another of history and could take photos everywhere except the crown jewels. Definitely worth a visit and a lot of great shops and restaurants within walking distance. Almost every thing was with on a godd 10 15 minute walk from our hotel.
Buy your tickets in advance online and skip the line. Visit is worth the price (~£20). Realistically, it's multiple museums in one. Some of the exhibits were very high quality but a couple need updating. Great views of the city and awesome photo opportunities.
It’s a beautiful castle, well organized and very informative. It houses the War Museum and also the Crown Jewels. It also has a café, several shops that have interesting things related to the castle and Scottish culture and history. You can walk in different directions and you will find information
I loved every second of this place, due to our flight we booked the last ticket of the day and we didn't get to see everything we wanted to see so I suggest booking an earlier ticket of the day, I know at 1 o'clock they fire guns which would be cool to see. Also there was a lot of people being turne
I’m glad I went, but I will admit that this was not my favorite place, nor my favorite castle. I enjoyed Stirling Castle much more in that it was more about the royalty, and Edinburgh Castle was more about the military. I will admit that the view of the city from here is majestic, and it looks so aw
This place is a captivating journey through the annals of history and culture, offering a treasure trove of things to explore and immerse yourself in. It's not just a place to see; it's a place to connect with Edinburgh and Scotland's rich heritage. No matter your age, you're bound to have a blast
Went with my family. We booked a tour guide and he was very good 👍. He took his time and explained to us every part of the castle. It was a fantastic experience. My kids enjoyed every bit of it. I am looking forward to visiting again soon 😊.
Wow, I really does not matter whether you are interested in this or not - if you are in Edinburgh you have to visit. We chose a guided tour and it was very good and informative. Even though it was raining that day it was just so interesting and the caste is so beautiful and there are so many interes
Absolutely, I wholeheartedly recommend visiting Edinburgh Castle if you have the chance. It's a true treasure that combines history, stunning architecture, and breathtaking views in one remarkable location. Walking through the castle's gates is like stepping back in time. You'll get to explore cent
Edinburgh Castle is one of the best attractions in Scotland. Although you are not history person you can still enjoy some of the best views of the city from the top of the castle. There are different view points at various stages to look the beautiful city which is mix of traditional rocky buildings
Love this place! The castle is big. Since it is a popular attraction, there are a lot of visitors, literally a lot :( You need to find the right angle and timing when taking photos to avoid the crowd. It took 2-3 hours to enjoy all area in the castle. It's worth a visit when coming to Edinburgh.
This was truly magical! My wife and I visited on a beautiful September day. We spent at least three hours there and could have spent the entire day! It's the most spectacularly and meticulously maintained castle site we have ever seen. This is a MUST SEE. And, stick around for the 1pm cannon sho
The Edinburgh Castle, inspiration to Hogwarts, is not very easy to reach from the Prince’s Street. You need to prebook your tickets. And you should be in front of the castle 10 minutes before your booked time. If you try to enter half an hour ago, they don’t let you in. If you directly come from the
Really beautiful! We went on a rainy day, but still have no regrets. It took about 2.5 hours to truly appreciate all that the castle had to offer
This facility was a mixed bag with regard to how good the tour was. We were able to get in quickly as we had already purchased tickets. As it is on top of the hill, warm weather gear is a must. And don’t forget about the rain and wind! At the top, there are 4-5 buildings to visit and see artifacts
A wonderful location in Edinburgh. Simply stunning views, wonderful information about the history of the castle. The exposition about the war with the english men and how the castle changed hands so many times was so insightful. Do yourselves a favour and visit this beautiful, magnificent castle wh
A great slice of Scottish history in an unbelievably beautiful setting. A superb venue for the Edinburgh Tattoo, an incredible world-class ‘must see’ event, as well as so much more. From housing the smallest medieval chapel in the world, to having the best view over Edinburgh, as seen by many for ce
