...awesome experience when going with the family. This trip was based on my 5 Yr old learning about castle at school, so we drove up to Scotland for the weekend. History, location and weather (even though very wet) add to the atmosphere of the day. Worth a visit.
Amazing castle. Another of history and could take photos everywhere except the crown jewels. Definitely worth a visit and a lot of great shops and restaurants within walking distance. Almost every thing was with on a godd 10 15 minute walk from our hotel.
Buy your tickets in advance online and skip the line. Visit is worth the price (~£20). Realistically, it's multiple museums in one. Some of the exhibits were very high quality but a couple need updating. Great views of the city and awesome photo opportunities.

Love this place! The castle is big. Since it is a popular attraction, there are a lot of visitors, literally a lot :( You need to find the right angle and timing when taking photos to avoid the crowd.

This facility was a mixed bag with regard to how good the tour was. We were able to get in quickly as we had already purchased tickets. As it is on top of the hill, warm weather gear is a must. And don’t forget about the rain and wind!
