No doubt about it, one of the best Kebab chilli sauce and Kebabs in the whole of the Central belt of Scotland!
The Staff are so friendly and helpful and really make sure they give the customers good quality food.
The chilli sauce is the standard and bench mark for all other kebab chilli sauces in Scotland to acquire too. It doesn't have watered down ketchup, sugar, yogurt, mango chutney like most other kebab shops in Scotland. Ketchup, sugar or yogurt or mango chutney should never be in kebab chilli sauce and kebab chilli sauce should never be sweet. This places chilli sauce thankfully is not like that and its not sweet and I think is made with (even if this is not how the chilli sauce is made this is an excellent chilli sauce recipe!):
small white cabbage diced (or half a medium sized one)
Large white onion diced
couple cloves of garlic (optional)
300g mutti passata
juice of 1 lemon
2 large red chillis
pinch of salt
Pop everything into a blender until smooth.
All other kebab shops in Scotland please take note and atleast offer customers an alternative chilli sauce like this one to the sweet ones you have.
The chilli sauce is not hot, it has a little heat ofcourse, as it is chilli sauce after all but not so hot you can not taste anything thing else. This chilli sauce is also great with chips or on a cheese burger etc!!! Its really that delicious!
The salad was very good and each salad type were in separate bowls rather than just throwing salad all in one bowl which is not how a Kebab salad should be. Sadly they did not have pickled red cabbage, so my only suggestion is to have a separate bowl of freshly made pickled red cabbage (pickled well with vinegar), separate bowl of freshly made pickled white cabbage (Pickled well with vinegar), separate bowl of fresh lettuce, separate bowl of fresh onions, separate bowl of fresh cucumbers, separate bowl of fresh lemons, separate bowl of fresh tomatoes. Would be great if owner could maybe add that?
My only request to this place is PLEASE open up a duplicate in Glasgow and keep everything exactly how it is now, except to add the salads I mentioned. Glasgow needs a good Kebab shop with good chilli sauce and good kebab salad!!! Any kebab shop owners reading this in Glasgow, please add these amazing things to your kebab shop that this one has.
After my reluctant exploration of burritos made another mediocre stop at Bar Burrito, I wasn’t really in the mood for another any time soon. However, when I found myself on Easter Road I remembered that regular guest quester Gary had often extolled the merits of the wraps at the nearby Turkish Carry Out.
Excellent Top ranked Pizza with warmly and great service 🍕 Never miss their Turkish Donner Pizza, large numbers of portions, damn juicy and yummy donner on the soft, smelly and tasty pizza base. ✴️✴️✴️✴️✴️ Highly recommended always!
Delicious, friendly staff and decently priced food! Would definitely come back :)
The shish wrap is out of this world. I struggle to articulate how tasty it was. It was also the size of my arm. Lovely flame grilled taste to the chicken and the sauces / salad were excellent. I will go as far as to say that this is the best thing I have ever had from a kebab shop. The chips were hot and crispy too and well salted. Easiest top marks I've given.
Omg. How much did I enjoy this, lamb calzona & chips, thanks guys for my great tea. Staff & delivery staff very pleasant so a massive thks to them all.
I'll be back
It's so good it's almost become my canteen. The lamb wrap and lamb kabab are my favourites.
A good shout when you want a late night burger. Really friendly staff, fast and hot delivery when ordering through their own website. The onion rings are also amazing.
They only take cash in store, but you can order for collection online so it's not really an issue.
Had a chicken calzone, must say it was delicious, the salad that came with it was very good as well. First time going here, will definitely use again. Also as others have said staff are very polite and friendly.
Ordered a home delivery and it arrived hot and on time. The kebabs were really good with all meats cooked and spiced to give an amazing taste. If there is one negative it would be that there was not enough sauce for the number of kebabs.. but would still give it 5 stars..
Best donner kebab I've tasted in Edinburgh so far. This was the donner kebab experience I was searching for. Also, the salad and the garlic sauce were great.
Their food is halal Al Hamd Le Allah
Popped in here late last night for a chicken kebab and chicken shish kebab.
Lovely pitta bread, full of meat, and the salad seperate on the side in the box was brilliant and stopped the pitta from being soggy.
Will definitely come back for more.
After reading another review, I decided to give their pizza a try. As an expat Yank, I have some definite ideas about pizza, and the ones I'd tried at a couple Pizza/Donner/Fry Takeaways in Edinburgh were less than stellar. This one was great, though. It is not quite comparable to a really good US artisan pizza, but it does the job.
I went basic and ordered tomato and garlic. There were lots of chopped tomatoes and tons of garlic as well as oodles of cheese. The crust was tasty, neither a thick nor a thin crust, but somewhere in between. The topping was browned and slightly crisp, but not burnt. The whole thing was exactly what I wanted.
I will definitely return for more pizza and will try their other offerings as well.
I order this food for takeout for comfy/lazy night in and it never disappoints. I would recommend "large chef's special kebab" with extra sauces. Easily feeds 2 to 3 people.
Had my first doner kebab here. Amazing taste, and the owner was super friendly!
Tasty kebab, good service and not too greasy. I had the mixed kebab, fresh salad, really good quality, my go to local place now.
