The food was very good. The beef was cooked like wanted (medium/well).
We had the house special beef and a sirloin steak with additional potatoes and sauce. I would give it five stars. But the tip (service change) 10% was added to the bill. We like to choose the amount our selves. And this annoy us. So it was zero. And "only" a 4 stars review.
A true gem! Fantastic food, great service, a really enjoyable place - we had a very nice evening. The quality and cooking of the meat was on point and the sides were amazing. We will definitely come back!
We were just off a 9 hour tour and wanted some good hearty food, especially vegetables! Toro Latino did NOT disappoint! Definitely going back before we leave!
This must be the best Argentinian Steakhouse in the world. The cheese cake is phenomenal! Like the meat, and the service, and the potatoes, and the corn...
The smiling welcome was just the beginning. The decor and soundtrack generates a really good atmosphere with energy and interest. The colourful decor has real character and the background music made it easy to relax and chat.
The menu is interesting and it would be great to live nearby so we could work our way through it. Playing boringly safe and being very hungry, we opted for a beef and a chicken burger. Both were delicious (we halved them and each tried both) perfectly cooked with fresh salad and great dressings. The house fries were also good. Washed down with a pint of Estrella our meals were perfect - tasty, hot and thoroughly enjoyable. The staff were lovely, attentive, but not overpowering. It definitely felt like they enjoyed what they were doing. A brilliant, intimate restaurant offering excellent food at value for money pricing. We want to return.
14 oz ribeye was dry and over cooked not medium it was well done. I dont send food back. Overall the food was good but the meat was not a ribeye there was not an ounce of fat on this steak at all.
I asked for medium rare for my fillet , but it was not even medium , medium well I would say , that was disappointing . Everything else was good , nice waiter .
Firstly, I’d like to start by saying the size and design of the restaurant is perfect. Is doesn’t have too many seats and feels like a very peaceful place where you can go and be able to hear what the person across of you is hearing. The waiters were very nice and attentive. Now, the most important part, the food. I had the bread with chimuchuri, the nachos, and the empanadas to start with. The bread with chimmichuri was very basic and nothing more or less than you’d expect from some nice toasted bread. The nachos were very flavorful and generous with the toppings, even though I would’ve liked the cheese to be more melted instead of aggregated together with the nachos. The empanadas came with one vegetarian option containing cheese and tomato sauce, which was wonderful. The meat empanada had a unique taste which wasn’t my favorite but if this is how Latin empanadas are made, who am I to fault them. For the main, I got a ribeye steak, which came cooked exactly as I requested, being medium. Definitely very tender and flavorful, I’m guessing the chef didn’t add much salt as I had to add some myself but that is plausible as some people don’t like a good amount of salt, so I appreciated the option. It came with a side salad which was a very nice contrast to the heavy piece of steak, as well as one portobello mushroom which I didn’t really enjoy or see the point of, I would’ve much rather preferred something like some roast peppers or even potatoes, but again, I came for the steak so I didn’t care for a mushroom I didn’t like. I got 3 sauces with the steak, garlic butter, peppercorn, and chimmichuri. I would definitely only go for the garlic butter next time. I also had the asparagus with the peppercorn sauce which was a wonderful addition. To finish off for dessert, I had a sticky toffee pudding which was made excellently with very profound flavors.
Had our early dinner here while visiting Edinburgh, and it went well. Looks like a tiny restaurant, but it got very busy, there was a large group along with a few couples and a solo diner, and everybody seemed to be getting their meals with no delays, so respect to the kitchen. Our steaks were cooked the way we asked, and both were delicious. A cup of cortado to complete the dinner. All in all a place worth visiting if you’re after a good steak and friendly atmosphere.
Possibly the best meal I’ve had in Scotland! Nothing bad to say, service was great too.
Fantastic steak restaurant just off Lothian Road. We've lived close by to this place for years and only recently visited but we now take any visitors there. Steak is top class, cooked perfectly and sides and sauces are always spot on. It's also very reasonably priced and the staff are very friendly. Highly recommended.
Quality restaurant that has more of a local vibe. Steaks are excellent especially the TBone.
My only gripe is the service could have been better. There was two occasions where the waitress brought the wrong food to our table, especially when we already had mains on our table.
Good selection of wines.
Happy to recommend and it pricing wasn't too bad either.
A very nice place. Wasn't crowdy when I was there. The food is tasty, the service is super friendly and attentive, no annoying elements. Decorations and atmosphere are also on a high level.
Interior decorator just made a mix out of stuff from a variety of Latin American countries, including a Maduro painting. Staff is friendly and the meat is excellent.
First visit here, friendly welcome from Mohammed and other staff. We enjoyed our Pinot wine, shared some bread a dip, then a sirloin steak came with salad and mushroom, I added skinny fries and brocolli, and a rump steak with melted stilton came with salad, added parmesan mash, finished off with coffees. All food was freshly made and very tasty, staff were luvly , enjoyed our visit :)
The restaurant has a great atmosphere and lively music, lots of decoration which I found interesting and suit the restaurant’s cuisine very well. The dishes are well presented and are as tasty as they look! Unfortunately I wasn’t able to try much of what they had to offer but the wagyu burger was amazing and i found that the addition of caramelised malbec onions made the burger better. The staff were friendly and often asked if our food was okay and if we would like anything else. Overall, this restaurant is a must visit if you’re visiting Edinburgh!
