What a great wee atmospheric pub - unique
Visited while Six Nations was on to watch Scotland game. It was quite busy with great atmosphere. Should have gone earlier for a seat. Good beer and wine a great little little bar.
I love this hidden treasure
Great pub with a fantastic atmosphere. ... hidden gem in Edinburgh
Super Pub mit tollen Einheimischen, man kommt schnell ins Gespräch. Einfach top!!
Shhh don't tell anyone about this place it's better kept a secret ;)
A fantastic pint, lovely bar. Highly recommended to anyone who is passing.
Wonderful little gem tucked away on a hidden street in the middle of new town. Really nice staff and cozy pub, we had a great time here! My new favorite pub in Edinburgh.
The most incredible wee pub - as in proper pub - I’ve ever seen. The fire place is the cherry on top. Nae tourists, no highland coos, no overpriced shortbread, just a proper tiny pub for friendly locals, with great staff and a lovely selection of reasonably priced cask and keg ales. Need to bring back the shrink wrapped ham and cheese n pickle bar rolls. Outstanding place that deserves every penny.
It's a locals pub with flare and atmosphere! Not big just right. Great selection of scotch's.
I have been meaning to try this pub for years when I was working nearby and it was closed due to Covid, so I made an effort to do so over Easter and I wasn't disappointed.
It was like stepping back in time in the nicest of ways. A quaint, clean pub with well-kept ales, a real coal fire, fresh sandwiches, dog friendly with a selection of newspapers to read.
This is clearly a popular local pub in a wealthy enclave of Edinburgh with prices to match. You can expect to pay £5.60 for a pint of real ale and £7 for Beavertown lager.
This pub has been crowned by CAMRA for its ales and is worth seeking out if you want to enjoy a quiet drink in quaint surroundings with friendly locals.
Highly recommended.
Quaint little bar with a lot of atmosphere. We stayed nearby for a few days, so popped in a few times for a few drinks. Loved it every time!
Great place for a drink before heading out... Or for a little nightcap while heading home.
What a great pub. Definitely worth looking for and going to.
What a fantastic local full of atmosphere & an all round good vibe, Great bar staff to, A must when you visit Edinburgh..👍
A singular authentic pub with a local clientele and an olde worldwide feel. This bar never gets too busy, and is full of authentic beers and locals, or those Edinburghers who have discovered its charm. Old barrels are on display, there is a real coal fire and a scuttle, and to the rear is a small room comprising three more tables which include the availability of board games.
You can tell this is a really old building because the stone frame around the window in this rear is 2 ft thick and is covered with an old velvet cushion on the sill. Plenty space for sitting.
A beautifully ornate pub tucked away in a forgotten place and time, and wonderfully so.
A great bar to visit in the New Town. Good selection of ales (Jarl, Landlord, Orkney) and I would say the best kept and poured Guinness in town. Small but decent food menu and great baps or rolls at the bar (ham, Brie, corned beef). Some great old pics on the walls of the local area but this is a pub for today - warm, friendly and very easy to invest 2-3 hours here. It won’t be time wasted.
Fantastic bar! If I lived in the area I’d be in all the time. Friendly staff and great cask ale.
