Service was a wee bit slow, bit of a wait for menus, then between courses, but that didn't actually cause us any problems and the food was well worth the wait. Really enjoyed by all 6 in our group and can't wait to go back.
My only advice would be to allow plenty of time.
The food and atmosphere were terrific. Never seen such a large mixed starter - and from first bite to last it was delicious.
Staff could not have been friendlier.
No wonder the place was so busy.
Excellent food highly recommend meal deals for delivery
The best Indian I've had in a long time. Great food, great service and would definitely recommend.
Great service and very tasty food, I highly recommend this restaurant to all
We arrived early ....6pm....lovely didn't wait long
Maybe l8tr on in the evening service not on the ball .....very busy when we left......
Very good food xx
Great food, friendly staff ginormous portions ten out of ten
10/10 food, service and atmosphere. Chilled out vibe lovely place to bring the family. The mix grill absolutely fine bloody tastic it truly is K.O knockout kebabs best I've had from across the uk. Get down here ya Scottys it's deffo worth the visit. Not to be missed!!
Struggled to find a BYOB during the festival that could accommodate our group of 10-but were lucky enough to get a table at Kebabish last night. Very busy restaurant which had a lot of other large groups in too. The menu is pretty hefty with a lot of grill and curry dishes to choose from. I had the Prawn puri and then chicken tawa. The puri was very nice, tasty sweet sauce. The tawa was good, my chicken was tender but there were far too many peppers to the amount of chicken which made me feel a bit cheated. Portion sizes are huge-the mixed grill left some of the group unable to finish. Butter chicken had a uce sauce but quite dry chicken. Service could have been quicker, 2 hours between starter and main isn't great. Would eat from there again, but probably not to sit in.
I loved this place for the kebabs and the tikka. The nan bread was super soft. Wha really is memorable is the nihari curry which took the cake. It's a byob that makes it even better!
Ideally I should have given 5 rating because of amazing tasty food they served but it took around 40 minutes for that tasty food to come. But food was worth of penny. I enjoyed eating vegetables jaipuri, garlic naan, peshwari naan, panner grill ( I forget actual name ) and my friends equally enjoyed chicken tikka biryani and fish tawa. Quantity of food. Atlast we ended up in drinking mango lassi... It was so yummy that after drinking a glass we ordered full jug.
Must visit to enjoy real taste of India/ Pakistan cuisine. (I personally feel food is only thing that can bring back bond between both nations :) :) )
A great place.... I thought it only wright to comment on this restaurant. After a disapointing end to the rugby as usual Scotland losing. Myself a couple of mates were walking past Kebabish after the game and decided to give it a shot. What a great end to a disapointing day. We were welcomed by friendly waiting staff who seated us promptly and handed us the menu, we asked for drinks and were told they don't serve alcohol but could bring our own bottle which I thought was great so I went next door to CO-OP and bought some beers (What a great way to save some money). We ordered our meals; they arrived fairly quick on a busy night; I had the Mix Grill and when it arrived I was amazed by the size and the taste was fantastic, my friends were jealous even though having a taste of there currys they were pretty awesome to. Overall a great experience, Service with a smile could not be faulted, best Indian food I have had in a long time. Looking forward to going back after this Sundays rugby.
Keep up the good work guys.

AMAZING........... I went to Kebabish Original, having purchased a groupon voucher, and like to say that the food was amazing… i have been to quite a few indian restaurants around Edinburgh but this has got to be my favourite, the decor, ambience, the staff all make this a wonderful place to dine in, i would recommend this place to everyone… definitely be back.
My favourite Indian cuisine in Edinburgh! Affordable prices for delicious Indian style grub! Mirchi T-bone steak and Chicken Tikka Biryani is my favourites on the menu!
Kebabish original is one of those places where you know exactly what you'll be getting the moment you see it - that being copious amounts meat with nothing being absolutely exceptional. I came here to catch up with a few friends and we were'nt dissapointed, we were looking for BYOB and large portions which is exactly what we got. I opted for a sharing meal (the name escapes me) and when it came we were quite impressed with meat mountain standing before us. We couldn't even finish it but we were extremely happy with our meal and would definitely come again.
What better way to accompany a catch up with old friends than with cheap wine and a selection of tandoori treats? I visited this place on last week after a friend recommended we try it and I must say I was impressed. The service was over-attentive if anything; not to the point of being annoying, just nice. The fact that it's BYOB helps as well - keeping the costs down and allowing one to sample some of Lidl's finest tipple!
Kebabish was super-busy (it was a Friday night) but this did not detract in any way from our experience there. The noise from other tables simply served to stifle our booming laugh that, in a quieter establishment, would almost certainly have carried all the way to the farthest table where a man in a suit may be trying to host a very important business meeting, and would have left him grumbling and annoyed. This hubbub adds to a great atmosphere - 'the thrill of the grill' as the restaurant's tagline boasts, is not all that thrilling, but it's a very nice relaxed place to go for huge quantities of good food.
I started with a poppadum platter which came with 4 dips. Two of these were absolutely delicious, the spiced onions and the mango chutney, and to mix them was to reach a sort of flavourful Nirvana. The other two were a mystery to me; I still do not know what they were but both stung the tongue quite severely!
On to the main and with it the single biggest Chicken steak I've ever seen. This thing was enormous. I have no idea what sort of monstrous Chicken it was harvested from but I can confirm that it is indeed a delicous thing; the kebab spices were fantastic and complemented very well indeed by the garlic mayonnaise. Alongside this came some chips and a fine selection of stir-fried vegetables.
Kebabish is certainly not fine dining, but it doesn't pretend to be. It's honest about what it is; a fun place serving good food that's not too pricey, and that's why I love it.
Service was amazing. As soon as we walked in we were looked after really well. Waiter anticipated our needs and knew the food that they were serving. We ordered mains as starters as we wanted to try everything. We were happy with everything. The food was exceptional and it most definitely lives up to its name. A 15 minute walk from where we were staying Princes Street, but I was wearing heels so we ordered an Uber for £7 to get us there. A must for authentic South Asian food. Was definitely worth the visit and will definitely be coming here again.
One of the best South Asian places outside my country I have tried. The food is very good and well made. The staff are kind and friendly. Prices I believe average to the place. Their biryani and tendori chicken are very delicious and tasty, the spiceness level is perfect. I recommend the biryani and miz grills. Their mango lasi is also good and theybhave a jar which is good for sharing.
Myself and partner came here months ago to try the food. He loves an Indian, I have a peanut allergy so have always felt on edge trying these sort of places especially since I took a reaction to an Indian a few years back. I let them know about my worry, but was catered for no problem. The manager/owner always looks after us! We have brought our 6 year old a few times too, he absolutely loves her and always makes sure she has free ice cream after she's eaten! The service is like no other. 5/5. The food is amazing, lovely atmosphere and family friendly. All the staff remember us when we come back which makes you feel part of the family too! 😁
Absolutely brilliant! Very reasonably priced with very generous portions. The best Indian food I’ve eaten. Ever. Chicken was cooked perfectly. The dips were full of flavour. The rice was delicious. And the bed of onions were a perfect complement to the chicken. I also had too many bites of garlic naan. What a fantastic experience!
One of the best Kebabs I've ever had, not just in Edinburgh, anywhere in the world. I've started to become a regular there. All the items we ordered were very very very good.

Kebabish Edinburgh serve one of the best Indian food. Ambiance is good, friendly staff. They don’t have a bar but free to bring your own drink.
I love their mixed grill which is one of the best in Edinburgh. Fresh and tasty as always. They do Lamb shanks - lamb Nihari which is again one of their signature dish. Lamb shanks slow cooked for very long time, meat comes off the bone that easy.
We really enjoyed our evening, Place is family friendly and the staffs are caring. I highly recommend this place for your family events.
I have been here dozens of times and the food is always incredible and reasonably priced. Staff are really friendly and attentive. The environment is very relaxed and informal.
The grilled lamb dishes especially are delicious and most other places can't compete, so I keep coming back
My wife and I are regulars (weekly!) to this splendid place. The food is made with real care, the restaurant is spacious, and the owner is more than generous to every guest. Highly recommended!
The meat fell off the bones and the sauces were amazing!
Delicious dinner, beautiful desserts and a very good atmosphere, relaxed and intimate. The staff were very polite while making us feel at home. I loved this place!
Excellent service staff, thought they give you bit time to get you settle down :-) food is below average but they take your feedback and honestly except mistake if any. If they want to retain in Indian hotel market then seriously need to think about good Chef. My 4 star only for service staff and hospitality.
Cheers
The food was delicious! We enjoyed very much. Most of all we were impressed by the service provided by Andy! We will definitely come again!
Really good. The mix grill was so tasty, specially the chops, although the chicken was a bit dry. Garlic and parsley naan was delicious like the rice with lamb. Service was great. Price was adequate, not cheap. It was 52 pounds for two with: starter, two main courses (including the grill), two desserts and two cokes.
it's a fantastic experience that what u seen on grill to ur table and very good service for ur needs anything anytime. good price everything geting higher this days
Really great food, authentic and reasonable.
Excellent service. Tasty food. Stumped only by the bill. Seemed expensive for what we ordered. Will have to revisit and confirm. Will re-evaluate this
