No frills but good food Simple set up, basically casual dining experience. Good hearty satisfying bowl of noodles at roughly £10. Seating on street level as well as down stairs. Often you will see the chef hand pull the noodles in the back. We arrived at 430, so it was before the dinner rush. Waited roughly 10-15 mins for our steaming bowl of noodles. The lady who served us was very friendly. Would definitely recommend, big portions. The noodles had a nice soft chew to them . The pork won tuns had were juicy. The beef flank was full of flavour. Order at the counter and they will bring your meal out to your table. Toilets clean, situated down stairs. It's cash only premises.

Noodles and dumplings is friend’s favorite noodle shop which is not far from the university of Edinburgh building. Following its name I tried the most famous slice beef noodle with chili oils and dumpling. Don’t let the colour trick you, as an Asian guy, it’s not too spicy but again spiciness is subjective capacity. The beef is tender and the noodles are well made. The trick you can do is to ask for the soup, warming your mouth, which pleasantly accompanies the dish too. The dumplings are alright as well. The restaurant is spacious and can be crowded at noon. There are more dishes to try so you can come and experience it by yourself.

Good, basic unpretentious food at unpretentious prices. The noodle portions were generous, go here if you're hungry! The surrounds are very basic and seating is tight but I'm only mentioning this so people know what to expect, as I have no complaints given the prices charged. As others have mentioned, cash only. We withdrew cash from an ATM at Saintsbury's just 20m away.

Food 9.5/10, service 9/10. The best Chinese noodles and buns bar in Edinburgh downtown. Walking distance to university of Edinburgh. Always good food quantity and quality and serving by friendly staff. There also have some hot pot dishes valued to have a try. Authentic food also can chill you much especially after one day work. Don’t hesitate to go here if you around this place. 💷 £8-19 per, 💁🏻‍♂️ 10-15mins.

Great food. Not flashy in decor but they pass on those savings to their customers. When you stand at the counter you can see one of the chefs hand pulling fresh noodles in the kitchen. Their lamb ribs had great texture and flavour, I recommend trying those, they don't seem to be too popular. It's cash only here and there are not many places to wait if you are getting takeaway, but they do what they do, well.

Lovely place ran by a lovely owner. Prices aren’t super cheap but the dumplings are made with great care and are extremely delicious. 🫶

If you want authentic Chinese noodles, look no further. The Lamb skewers took me back to living in China. They use the exact same seasoning, so be sure to add them as a side! Noodles are delicious and clearly handmade. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and the owners are extremely friendly. Please note they only take cash but there is a cash machine nearby!

Food was delicious and large portion size. Great value for money. Quick service, sidnt wait too long for food to come out, despite there already being apprx 8 other people. More seating downstairs. Cash only We ate the Garlic beef flank noodles in broth and beef fried noodles. There was handmade noodles in both dishes and were delicious! Sorry we were so hungry we dug into our food before I took the photos ha there was plenty of delicious broth in red bowl

Great restaurant. You can absolutely taste the freshness of every meal. And to think we only had to wait for our noodles for 10 minutes. The atmosphere is super lowkey and simple. Just a place to get good food. Also, the lady taking orders is super sweet.

I ate beef slices noodles with chili oil, it was delicious. They made the noodles from scratch and you could see how they made it (open kitchen). I love the texture of the noodles and it's flavourful with plenty of beef slices. The payment is cash only, so dont forget to bring cash here. It costed me £9.

My personal favourite place in Scotland for lan Zhou noodles! Lovely lady at the till too. Go to order is the dry beef noodles with chili oil + few tsp extra of chili crisps! QQ (chewy/bouncy) noodles with tender beef and that numbingly spicy and addictive chili oil!! Prefer this to the broth version. The dry noodles can be slightly dry so might ask them to add a tbsp of broth in it.
