It was a thrill to be able to have lunch in the Tearoom on the Britannia. It was all I expected and reasonably priced considering how many staff there were and it’s position.
I was firstly surprised that I was allowed in because I’d just spent 2 weeks hiking and looked like it! 😂
I had the Light Lunch, Salmon sandwich, White Wine and a pot of tea. Fab! Nice fresh ingredients and later we found out that they are using the original galley as always used. So great!
I would highly recommend this addition to your tour. And a lovely view from the huge windows. I could even see the final Iron Man out in the harbour, looking sad!
Thanks team.
After a great tour of H.M.Y. Britannia, we decided to treat ourselves as kings and queens and have lunch at the Royal Deck Tearoom atop of the Britannia. The view from the tearoom is well worth a visit. Needless to say, the ambiance is very welcoming and the atmosphere very royal.
One of us enjoyed a Salmon sandwich with smoked salmon, lemon, and cracked black pepper and cream cheese on wholemeal bread. Another had the Flat Field Mushroom, truffle, and chive soup. Our other friend tried the Tomato Soup which was vine plum tomato and red pepper. Both soups arrived with a warm bread roll and butter. We enjoyed a glass of wine with our lunch.
The food was great and at a reasonable price for its location at a tourist attraction. I highly recommend you treat yourself to a little royal treatment with a meal at the Royal Deck Tearoom atop of the Britannia.
Very tasty food. Beautiful view out of the window. Very cosy but posh looking restaurant. I recommend to anyone who would like to experience some luxury but in affordable price. The only minus is that we have received drinks after we managed to eat our dessert meals.
Great atmosphere. The staff was very kind and efficient. However, the chicken sandwich unfortunately had an overpowering taste of horseradish; I couldn't taste other ingredients. On the other hand, the Cullen Skink soup is a must-try. Highly recommended 😉
If you're looking for a unique and unforgettable dining experience in Edinburgh, look no further than the Royal Deck Tea Room on the Royal Yacht Britannia. The tea room is located on the former royal yacht of Queen Elizabeth II and offers a stunning setting for a luxurious afternoon tea.
The tea room itself is beautifully decorated with elegant furnishings and is set against a backdrop of stunning views of the water. The menu is equally impressive, featuring a range of delicious teas, sandwiches, cakes, and pastries, all served with impeccable attention to detail.
What sets the Royal Deck Tea Room apart, however, is the sense of history and tradition that permeates the entire experience. From the grandeur of the yacht itself to the attention to detail in every aspect of the service, you'll feel transported to a bygone era of luxury and sophistication.
One of the things I appreciate most about the Royal Deck Tea Room is the friendly and knowledgeable staff. They go above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of your visit is perfect, from the selection of teas to the presentation of the food.
Overall, I highly recommend the Royal Deck Tea Room on the Royal Yacht Britannia as a must-visit destination in Edinburgh. The combination of stunning views, delicious food, and rich history make it a truly unforgettable experience that is not to be missed.
Very nice staff and the service was very good, I had the tomato and red pepper soup with wholemeal roll and butter, and I also had a plain scone with jam and clotted cream it was delicious 😋 the best scone I have ever eaten outside at any food place, it was very fresh and tasty, I had a great time here today, my brother had the chicken and bacon sandwiches and a slice of carrot cake which he really enjoyed.
Nice place to eat and have drinks after looking at HMY Britannia. The menu was quite extensive. All the food was very good and very fresh. The servers very polite and helpful,
What an experience. I was fortunate to get a table next to a window which was so lucky. After spending an hour or so walking around The Britannia, it was so nice to unwind in the tea room. I ordered a pot of tea and Victoria Sponge Cake. Then I took a couple of photos and sent them back to my grandmother in New Zealand and said to her, ‘I made it life Grandma, I’m having a cup of tea and cake on the Royal Yacht’.
What a lovely treat! We just had a light tea; Dundee cake and Victoria sponge. It was quiet when we were there; no wait. Friendly staff. We felt welcome to linger but we’re only halfway through our self guided tour so carried on. We really enjoyed our time on the Britannia.
Came whilst it was quiet so fortunate to get a window seat.
Such a relaxing setting, 5* service, and wonderful food.
It was a wonderful afternoon and the staff were great. A very classy experience. Loved it!
The place is great.
We ordered the afternoon tea and it was amazing, and the staff was friendly.
No prebooking necessary but it got kinda busy quite fast.
I do recommend it.
Fancied a treat and definitely glad we lunched here. The food, drinks, service and atmosphere are all 5 star.
Had a most excellent scone here. Light and airy setting with great service. Go on!
Great tour of Britannia yacht. Well worth a visit. And had lovely lunch in the tea room
