I often stop somewhere for a protein fill after the gym and went here one saturday to fill my craving. The staff are so friendly and happy its enough to make your day.
I got the wrap.
The meat was lovely but the stuffing was a bit to herby for me It took over a little.
I had never though of putting coleslaw with pulled pork but it really works.
I felt the portion was a little small for the money when compared to oink and Jones & sons (they have a stall outside John Lewis on a Saturday)
Id definitely go back again it i needed a protein fix fast.

How much is that piggy in the window?

As it turns out buying the whole pig is fairly expensive, but a roll or wrap is reasonably priced and terrifically tasty. This slow cooked hog is succulent, portable and comes with cracking crackling.

For those with a sense of adventure you can add your own sauces, obviously we recommend the chilli sauce for even more excitement. We’ve had our fair share of pulled pork in Edinburgh and so far this is reigning champion.

The food was great. All the sandwiches are pulled pork. You pick the bread you want and the sauce. The sandwich was great. The service was okay. The name has changed to the hog shop so it was a little tough to find.

Pig in a poke serves hog roast rolls and wraps. The window display is the whole roast hog, it is a simple but effective set up. The rolls are delicious and perfect for lunch on the go. There are simple delicious accompaniments of apple sauce, barbeque sauce and coleslaw. The amount of pork filling is very generous and this place is highly recommended if you are in the area and peckish.

Changed its name (new ownership) to The Hog Shop a while ago, and the whole roast pig is gone from the window, but the sandwiches, wraps, etc., are just as delicious.
