Got this on a Groupon deal and ordered the bushwick burger. It was sooo worth the money, it was quiet in there which I found so surprising because the setting was lovely, the staff were super friendly and the food was outstanding. We'll worth a visit
I really like this place. The burgers are really good and the chips too. What else do u need? The steak looked fabulous as well though. Service is really friendly. Also good drinks list milkshakes, smoothies etc - defo a hit with the weans. If u r looking for a great burger and trimmings I dont think u can beat this place
Crackin' place. A sort of American diner, with a Scottish twist. The lady serving was great ( not Scottish or American! But pfff), really nice and helpful with the menu and drinks. The food was ace. The drinks were too. The price was ok! Cool music as well.
Great atmosphere, service with a smile and the best fried chicken and waffles ever! Other breakfast options available; my wife raved about the French toast.
Amy and the staff deliver a consistent great service. Myself and wife have been twice now with friends and always have a lovely experience with great food. Highly recommended 👍
Great food, and really friendly service. Can recommend this place for a meal.
Pleased to see Broughton St still offers value for money at a few places. Based on one visit I was pleased to get a large bruschetta trio (picture) as delicious and filling snack with a cup of flat-white coffee. With change from a tenner, it’s what you’d be charged for coffee and a buttered scone in some venues.
The ambience, with classic rock playing softly in the background, is more Basement-without-the-hype than the nearby and slightly more expensive if trendy Olive Branch, and the food, even as a something to munch with the coffee, more substantial than the majority of coffee bars, or the delightful White Witch which sadly sells starter-sized “mains” at restaurant prices.
Let’s face it, in Broughton St we pay for ambience and cool. Treacle is still top-notch for overall fun, drinking and dining, and Basement maintains a dedicated crowd through sheer hard work, but if it’s a quieter, laid-back venue with pleasant seating, clean toilets, amiable service, good honest prices, and simple food that is well-prepared, then it would seem most definitely worth walking the extra few yards to Bushwick next to the roundabout.
The name seems a mystery — Brooklyn hood?
Love this place, the burgers are top notch and the onion rings are the best I've ever had
Great value for money, super breakfasts/brunches! Best I've had in Edinburgh for sure!
