My first place try out Edinburgh food! Location is good, as it is just next to High Street Hostel making it easily available to a vacationer. The food is nice, I've tried veg. burger, onion rings, french fries and all seem to be of good quality and taste. Again it comprises of university crowd, which is why I love it more! I haven't tried any drinks here, but I am sure they must be of decent quality.
Nice little out of the way pub with decent prices and indoor and outdoor seating with televisions showing sports at both. I think it must be attached to a hostel as well since there were quite a few young people (20’s) about
Came here with my partner, 2 dogs and my parents for some food and drink before a fringe show. Staff are so accommodating and immediately got water for the dogs and welcomed us. Food was great. Some amazing deals to be had at this place. Lovely atmosphere. Will be back 😊
Seemed fairly new to me and will kitted out. Spacious with the upstairs and downstairs area. Plenty of screens and a pool table too.
I was here for a festival comedy act and the rooms for that were fine.
Would come back to visit for just the pub facilities too.
Decent selection of drinks and friendly service.
The starters was sooooo good! We love the tempura prawn.
Karaoke on Thursday’s is best place to be in Edinburgh! I cannot stress this enough. The drinks and shot list are great, but I stayed for the karaoke! A must visit!

This place was my first home when i came in Edinburgh. I didn’t expect it to be what the vibe is all day long. I planned to stay there for 6 days but i loved the environment so much that i extended it to 12 days. Honestly I used to wake up in the morning, explored the city center and after a tiring day, i was served best beers with best snacks. The best exposure that i have gotten for any city is for Edinburgh and the credit goes to Bar 50.
It’s a full fledged students bar with affordable drinks and cocktails and snacks too. The taste is authentic and they will provide sauces as per your wish, any sauce or sides you want is there for you.
The staff is so humble and well behaved, that they have been really helpful to me in so so so many ways. I would give 30% credit to their helping hands for an amazing time i had there. Highly appreciated.
I would recommend this place to every student out there in Edinburgh to come party and have a great great time with your friends. Whether it’s your birthday, weekends, freshers, fair-well or bachelorette just come and party hard at bar50.

We spent a few hours here for our wedding anniversary and they were fantastic! Booking a table for a few hours was easy through the app, and the staff were lovely, food was excellent and we had a good range of drinks. We sat outdoors in 25°C temperatures (luckily just out of the sun, or I would have melted) enjoying the fresh air and a drink without masks.
All in all, a brilliant bar. Definitely book a few hours there!
Great place, the drinks menu was super varied and all of the cocktails I tried were amazing. They also offer good bar food so you can stay for hours just chatting and having fun
They have a section with really comfy couches and an outdoor terrace so you can go no matter the weather.
The staff were friendly and quick with all the orders ( even after we ordered A TON of food and drinks)
I highly recommend this place to hang out with a group
Food is cheap and decent. It is a student bar so the drinks are cheap. Very good for large groups as its quite big. They have free WiFi so ask at the bar. Recommended for after uni drinks and cheap food. Staff are really nice
Great place chill ,relax watch football and food is lovely ,salt an pepper chicken wings,haggis bites and mac n cheese bites lovely
Fairly decent place in center of Edinburgh. Has accommodation and serves food. Although I only had drinks. Prices reasonable
This bar is one of the best I've ever been. The karaoke nights really made it a special place for me on my travels abroad I wish I can rate higher than a 5!!!!
Had a swift pint ,and moved on to another venue, nice place , but had a meeting to get to.
Fresh and delicious paninis. The pints were very cold and a reasonable price. Environment was relaxed and inviting. Waiting staff were friendly.
Had a lovely hot chocolate as it had just started raining on us. Then we went outside and upstairs and had a whole table for 7 and we had drinks as we blethered and listened to the rain outside. It was fabby 👌
