Nice place. Don't really agree with the negative aspects of some of the reviews submitted previously.
the place is clearly being renovated along side running the business but it is a charming space and sure it will end up looking extremely stylish.
the home made soup is delicious and the ingredients for sandwiches are better quality than the bog-standard sandwich shop - never had any issues with the service either.
I cannot recommend this tiny coffee shop enough. Tucked away behind Princes Street, Latitude is in a perfect central location and is easily accessible by bus. My friend and I met for breakfast before a shopping trip, and I was so pleasantly surprised by how reasonably priced and tasty everything was. Their selection of sandwiches was great, and we devoured them in seconds. My hot chocolate was great, but the standout was the vanilla latte which was really delicious and flavourful. I also ordered a piece of marble cake and was greeted with a huge slice, three times the size I was expecting. Very limited seating, but I cannot recommend this little place enough. Please go show them some love, and order the cheese and pesto sandwich.
Good coffee at a good price. Small seating area inside. There are plenty of outlets to use if power is needed. Some music playing. Only one person working but wasn’t a problem. Not sure what it’s like on weekends or during peak hours of the day.
only had an afternoon tea, but the baked goods look nice too :)
lovely atmosphere and good service! great prices as well - only £2.20 for two cups of tea in this cozy cafe?! highly recommended <3
What a place. The BEST COFFEE AND TOASTIE in Edinburgh without a doubt. And the tea is delish as well. Its our first stop in Auld Reekie AND amazingly cheap. The best £5 spent ever.
Happened upon this by chance. Small and so welcoming. We had homemade soup (tomato n herbs) with bread. Beautifully served and very tasty. As far as I'm aware everything is homemade. Not a large menu but well thought out choices. Great coffee - one of the best macchiatos I've had in a long time. Great service and very patient, friendly staff. Will definitely go back.
Good coffee and tasty pud(I took coconut and raspberry cake). Maybe just one remark, music can be a little louder, because it was so quiet there that it was a little awkward to talk ;) but place and staff excellent!
Came across this wee gem unexpectedly. Staff friendly and attentive. Soup, sandwiches, cakes and hot drinks all reasonably priced, and food fresh and tasty. Card payments only but prob not a problem for most people nowadays.
Incredible! Lovely little place - very relaxed and cosy atmosphere. Delicious latte and lemon drizzle (upon recommendation of the server) was fantastic. Stumbled upon this place by chance but will definitely be back. Great place for a few minutes’ downtime in the city centre
Cute little cafe in the heart of the city.
They happily accommodated 8 of us at the drop of a hat and the sandwiches and cakes were delicious and really good value.

Very cute and nice coffee shop. Cozy seating room. Very tasty sandwich.
Lovely little coffee shop in the centre of Edinburgh. Tables for two or 3 inside or out. Sandwiches are freshly made. Ideal if you want a quick snack lunch. Cakes also available. Would go again.
