Reviews Leaf & Bean

It would seem that I have now reached that point in my life where everyone is getting engaged, married and having kids. Kids were the topic of this recent lunch out. I was meeting my good friend and her little boy so had to opt for somewhere kid and pram friendly. After much debate with my work folk we reasoned that Leaf & Bean in Morningside was the perfect venue. It really is a novelty getting out for lunch during the working week as I’m often time restricted.

Ended up here with a friend as we were looking for somewhere child friendly. The staff are great and the first thing you see on entering is the cakes in front and big comfy sofas to your right. It caters for everyone from yummy mummies to business folk out for a coffee and a meeting. The food is fresh, well prepared and presented. Lovely friendly staff and great serve and excellent coffee.

I kept hearing mention of this place and how great it was so when I finally found myself in the area and in need of some caffeine I was delighted.

It's pretty much the cafe I would hope to run if I went into the business: lovely coffee, a generous range of food, and staff that make you want to hang around and have a nice time. I only wish it had been there while I still lived nearby!

Lovely neighborhood cafe with a friendly staff and inviting atmosphere. You get a complimentary tablet with a coffee :) worth visiting alone for that! They are welcoming towards laptops - no specific policy and plenty of plugs around. Good wifi 🎉 One small suggestion - the benches are not the most comfy, so perhaps a little padding could be welcoming ;)

I had a great time here with some lovely coffee and bacon pancakes. Tip: I can see an usual number of 1 star reviews and can confirm many of them seem wrong (the toilet door is not see through!) and prepositions (I don't believe they fly kicked a granny across the room!) My four star review is honest and based on one visit. The cafe is warm and spacious. There's plenty of room between tables and some have power nearby for laptops. The coffee is fairly priced and food similar. I paid £7.50 for bacon and maple syrup pancakes (X2) which were tasty but not boutique speciality. The coffee came with a delicious cube of fudge and was high quality. I can see Leaf and Bean is a local favourite, as it's midmorning and plenty of people are here. It's dog friendly too. Staff are great, quick, friendly and don't seem stressed. The toilet is clean and easy access. I was given all the time I needed to enjoy my food and drink. I'm not in Morningside often but not only would I come back here again, I think it's a good oasis of calm, space and amenities

Popped in for a latte when I was waiting on an appointment. Warm place with welcoming staff. Ordered the latte at the counter and they bring it to your seat. Nice place with nice atmosphere.

Great little cafe! The food is always fab and it has a very relaxed friendly atmosphere. I’ve been here with family, with friends and on my own to study and I’ve never had any issues 🌟

Nice wee cafe in Morningside Edinburgh. Coffe good. Tray bakes OK. Not great but spent an enjoyable hour or so in the outdoor seating area.
