This pub is great! It's independent and it's not one of the old men's pubs that you can find in the area. It's very clean and the seating is very comfy. They have a massive space downstairs where the toilets are but I've never seen peple sitting there. The service is very friendly and the food is good. Once I ended up there on Sunday night and I made many friends since the place turned into a little disco. Everyone was chatting and dancing around the tables. It was great! I definitely recommend to visit this place for a pint or a quick bite!

A small independent pub, but the owner and staff are very friendly and accommodating, especially if you wanted to have a party with a few friends, you're welcome to enquire about the use of the downstairs area for some privacy. I've visited a few times with friends and their signature cocktails are divine. The drinks are reasonably priced and there's also great music played from the speakers. My friends and I have great memories of the pub over the years.

I wonder what I look like inside. I could be all delightful twisting ferns and candlelight set to a quirky 80s soundtrack - you'd never be able to tell from the outside. I've walked past The Cuckoo's Nest with it's shutters down and it's pebble-dashed walls, far too many times without stepping inside to sample it's delights. I supposed for a long time that all it concealed was a simple dark tavern, akin to many of the other bars around Tollcross. A friend of mine helped me remedy that last night as we dropped in for a quick pint after many other places had shut.

The lights are dark but supplemented perfectly by the candles, the music loud but not so loud as to not allow for decent conversation, the decor on the seats and tables completely befitting this small bar with an 'island-shack' feel to it. The pint of Heineken I had went down just right and settled nicely within for the walk home. I'll definitely be back to try the burgers at some point, at which point I shall be expanding this review.

A fantastic, if pricey, bar in the Tollcross area of the capital. Their upmarket range of beer and spirits ensures that it is a favourite with the populace of the area and, for the beers you get, the price is reasonable.

The food is of the highest quality and less like pub food than other bars in the area. The burgers are succulent and the variety is immense, whether it is the Moroccan or the Californian - it all works very well together.

The darkened but neon look to the bar works, as does the soundtrack which is usually old school disco music, to present a cracking pub in an area which has been rejuvenated in the last few years - perhaps kicked off by this delightful pub with it's great food and drink selection.
