The best thing to do in Edinburgh is to pub crawl. Pubs are pretty popular here and are packed till late night. People usually eat and then get out to meet friends or else they come straight from work and drink and wind up by 7-7.30. So usually one will see a set of crowd leaving at that time and a new set coming in specially on weekends.
It was a Friday n we reached at about 6.30 n the place was brimming with people, young n old alike. We just had a drink each with chicken wings n moved to the next place.
Great place though!!
I chose a traditional steak and ale pie. It came with chips, carrots and beans, a delightful little jug of gravy, but the pie itself was the undoubted star. Cutting through the beautifully crumbly pastry revealed a gently steaming avalanche of ste
We ate pork belly and sirloin steak and both were very tasty. Have to return some day to try out more from the menu. Comfortable pub interior and nice to see a dog friendly place. Toilets were little worn out, in ladies room 2/4 booths were out of use.
Staff was super nice with us, nice variety of drinks and the bar is very cosy and clean. Also is pet-friendly. 100% recommend!
Decided to girl this pub a try after a long day of traveling. We were not disappointed. The food was super quick and delicious! Service was great as well.
Good food with good portions and nice beer and cocktails for an affordable price! Happy to have chanced upon it. Had the fish and chips which was so crispy and fresh and the ciabatta steak sandwich. They also stream live sports
We discovered this place when walking in the street, and we were nicely surprised. The food was very tasty, with delightful vegetarian option. We had the steak and pie ale, pulled mushroom chili and battered halloumi, the three were delicious, and in a good and relaxed atmosphere. We really recommend it!
Visited last week while we were on vacation with no idea what to eat. Amber recommended the fish and chips and Steak and Ale pie and we’re so glad she did! The food was great, beers were cold and the service made us want to come again! Thanks for the hospitality!
Good atmospheric bar with nice food . The fish and chips is good for me but all depends on your own tastebud. Do give it a try . Staffs are friendly as well . Bar itself has basement seating to accommodate more people as well.
The beyond burger was absolutely delicious and my husband had the steak ale pie which was also delicious. Atmosphere great and staff very friendly and helpful.
Nice pub for a couple drinks in rose street. Theres an upstairs and a downstairs, hood atmosphere. Def would recommend
We arrived at Milnes Bar on our first day in sunny Edinburgh for a mid-week break. The staff were very friendly and attentive and our meals were delicious. We enjoyed a few relaxing refreshments and it was great to see so many locals catching up with each other after the tough few years we have all had! We highly recommend this bar/restaurant and will definitely visit again next time we are in Edinburgh😃 10/10 👍
Best house fries I have ever had. Cheeseburger was ok. I like ordering and paying at the bar for the meal. Also, great music and pick your own spot.
I recently visited Milnes Bar and had a fantastic experience, thanks in large part to the excellent service from Molly. She was friendly, attentive, and always made sure I had everything I needed. The atmosphere of the pub was cozy and inviting, with a great selection of food and drink options. Overall, I had a wonderful time at Milnes and can't wait to go back.
