First time we've tried Ramen in Scotland and we definitely weren't disappointed! The food was delicious - we had Hell Ramen and Steak Tataki Ramen with a Prawn Bai - and the service was very attentive of their customers. We'll absolutely recommend the restaurant and will return ourselves😊
Try also the lovely rice tea!
We enjoyed the meal. I wouldn't say that standing in line to get into this restaurant is recommended. The service was great, and it's a cosy atmosphere. We didn't get the ramen, but those looked really good.
Samples the chicken ramen during a solo Sunday lunch and it was very good. The chicken karaage was fresh and generous portion-wise. The broth was tasty and had a slight heat to it as billed on the menu, as well as good depth of flavour to it. The handmade noodles were excellent too and there was plenty of seaweed and ginger in the dish, too.
The restaurant is comfortable inside with big windows in which to watch the world to buy and a slightly open kitchen where you can observe the hustle and bustle of the kitchen.
Staff were very efficient and professional and the toilets were spotless.
The service was really quick and friendly. We both had vegan ramen dishes which were really good. A bit too much seaweed for our taste. The kimchi was mild but really good! We came in a few minutes after 12 am and after mere minutes the restaurant was filled to the brim.
Incredible place to have some really nice ramen. I come here to try the Edinburgh Ramen and I have to say : I was impressed. The food was gorgeous, full of flavour and tasteful. I have the basic ramen with some takoyaki. Everything was delicious, the takoyaki was really hot so pay attention when you get it. I had the basic ramen and it was amazing. It miss naruto as usually in U.K. 🥲. I have been served by this young lady, professional on her job and with her kind carisma and her amazing smile made me enjoy my meal.
Really suggested to come here to experience not only the food, but also the ambient as it’s look traditionally Japanese. 10/10
What a great place!!
Small ramen restaurant in the city centre. Awesome quality, food was 10/10.
The service was really good too, hats off to the South Carolina guy! He was very nice to us and our baby and made things very easy for us.
Out of Japan, but they served authentic and tasty Ramen! Staffs (2 young men) are friendly and helpful! Ramen is damn good! We enjoyed the food and paired it with sake! Will be back!
Vegan chicken kastu - full of flavour and portions were large
Drinks - Kamune is bussin', I'm ordering a crate. Tea also looked great and came in a traditional teapot.
Location - right on a high street, easily accessible.
Service - seating for 6 was accommodated for on arrival, attentive staff, food came fast too
Spotify playlist - slapped, I need the link asap ;)
Taste nice, came in a big portion.
The waitress was very nice, they gave us plate and bowl since we want to share our food.
They also can tell us which food that considered halal.
Visited today. Short waiting period to be seated, no problem, especially without reservation. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Shoutout to a server guy who helped me with ordering apple soda - very friendly and smiling at everyone, even during the busy dining period. Pork gyoza and ramen (salmon and tonkotsu) were excellent. I'm looking forward to another visit.
I'm gonna start by saying it was the best gyoza I ever had. Please, eat it! Hahah 💛 It was a chicken gyoza, super delicious, with a tasty sauce. We loved it.
We also tried the Chicken Ramen, Chicken Katsu Curry, and Takoyaki squid balls. Everything was so delicious. The Ramen and Katsu are super big, so if you don't eat a lot, I believe you can easily share.
The staff was super kind too! :)
Good place to have a hot and piping soupy ramen in a chilly day. The tonkatsu was tasty and no after taste thirst. Hence, can deduce that the soup is good.
The food at Maki & Ramen was delicious and authentic, with an aromatic blend of flavors that left my taste buds wanting more. The ramen was particularly outstanding - the broth was rich and savory, and the noodles were perfectly cooked. The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and welcoming, and the service was top-notch. Overall, I would highly recommend Maki & Ramen to anyone looking for an amazing dining experience in Edinburgh!

I visited this restaurant with a group around lunch time and because the restaurant was quite busy we had to wait outside for 10-15 minutes because there weren’t any free tables available which wasn’t ideal in my opinion. As someone who is quite the picky eater I wasn’t 100% happy about the taste of my food but the majority of my non picky friends were satisfied!
The restaurant is very cozy and has a nice atmosphere. If you want to try ramen and aren’t very picky with your food preferences this place is for you!
I tried the Hell Ramen, and it was amazing! As someone who enjoys spicy food, even though it wasn't extremely spicy, it was still fantastic. The Takoyaki was also delicious!
I'm not a big fan of the Asian cuisine, however my meal in Maki & Ramen may have changed that.
The restaurant itself looked much more appealing online, compared to real life when we visited it. Still, it was bad, just not how I was expecting it.
We selected it mainly for its food. There were not so many options, as one may find it other establishments. However, this is not necessarily a bad thing. We enjoyed a chicken ramen, a chicken yakisoba, a caisou salad as well as a pork gyoza side. We ate very well and fed our appetite, even leaving some food at the end, which the people there were very kind to provide to us a container to put our remains, to take them home.
I really enjoyed the visit and will try to visit again.
Everyone was sooo welcoming and nice!! The food was very tasty and we got our food really fast. Would 100% recommend!!!
So tasty, great starters. Black garlic ramen was amazing, one of the best i've ever eaten.
Nice, kind service.
