This was my first time at The Dome, I came with Kate Re for a cup of tea ready to pay more than usual but we didn't!All the hot drinks were cheaper than Starbucks and obviously service and atmosphere were perfect! It's a beautiful relaxing place, next time I'll definitely try the whole afternoon tea menu that was looking amazing!
Every so often me and my mum like to treat ourselves to a girly day, we decided to have afternoon tea at The Dome on George Street in Edinburgh, and it was so good! The Dome is the most beautiful old building it is just lovely to be in. There are loads of beautiful lights and mirrors (naturally I had to take a mirror selfie in one, I couldn't help it). The afternoon tea was so nice, we had four sandwiches each, a scone and cakes to share, as well as that we each had tea and a glass of prosecco. It was great, we had a great girly chat and ate way too much. Afternoon tea is just such a nice thing to do with friends and family, it is just a wee bit of a treat. I would definitely go back to The Dome, the food was really nice, as were the surroundings, and the staff were lovely! It was a really lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon!
As vegans, we never had a vegan afternoon tea before.
We found the vegan Afternoon Tea at The Dome and booked a time slot online. By reading about the options, we were not sure what to expect, but in the end our expectations were exceeded and the whole thing turned out a fabulous experience!
The atmosphere was great, we thoroughly enjoyed the mood and all the decorations. The service was on point, nice and polite.
The tea itself was absolutely marvellous: the tea blends we chose perfectly accompanied our foo; the vegan sausage roll and the sandwiches were delicious; the scones were amazing and so were the small desserts we had.
We will definitely repeat the experience in the future!
Stopped by the dome this morning for a quick coffee, staff were all very lovely apart from Douglas who was rather rude to us! Definitely needs some training on how to welcome customers and do his job properly. Apart from that, everything was lovely in the tearoom and the decorations looked wonderful. If your visiting between now and Christmas it's worth a visit.
We had such an amazing meal here this evening. The decorations were gorgeous and the atmosphere was great. Our meal was the best we have had in a while. Big thank you to Lajos! His service was impeccable and he was so so attentive. Thank you 🤍
I would recommend this place, especially around Christmas. Has a magical vibe. There are 3 different areas to eat/drink in. It is highly recommended that you make reservations. Good date or visiting the city place. Not too far from the royal mile.
Staff were very attentive and the food was wonderful. The building itself makes for a beautiful surrounding and really added to the atmosphere.
The fillet steak was done particularly well.
Would definitely return.
Simply stunning. Steeped in history. My chicken liver pate and lamb cutlets were absolutely delicious. Espresso martini was a wonderful way to round off the meal.
We went to the Georgian Tea Room at the Dome for a vegan afternoon tea. Staff was very nice and attentive, the setting was gorgeous and we really enjoyed our time there.
The food selection was lovely, especially the sandwiches. The sweets, however, were too sweet for our liking and we couldn't finish them.
I finally was able to fulfill my high tea dreams!! They had a full vegan menu in addition to their regular menu so I didn’t feel like I was missing out on anything. The food was amazing, the tea was great (I had the Scottish blend), and the staff was top notch. My server even spent some time giving me recommendations on this to see and do on my trip. Would definitely go back again and would recommend to anyone!
WONDERFUL PLACE!
Delicious scones, extensive cocktail menu, lovely sandwiches…beautiful bathrooms, this place alone makes me want to move to Edinburgh!
Top marks to the service team, you made us feel very special.
A lovely setting with really friendly and efficient staff. The drinks came first with the food close behind.
It's the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion or if you just want to spoil yourself rotten.

Birthday dinner here for my wife. Food and service as usual impeccable. Slight delay on dessert port for the cheeses but nothing to get in a twist over. Haggis appetizer outstanding, ribeye steak and lamb main course excellent.
The Dome is mind-blowing. The architecture dates back to 1800's and the food was just simply very good. Most impressive is the service, though. All in all, I think this was my favourite experience whilst in Edinburgh.
We had an incredible dinner at The Dome, and drinks at the bar before dinner with friends. The whole experience was lovely. The decor was beautiful, the atmosphere welcoming, the staff fantastic. Our server, Erhan, and an Indian woman, who whose name means “Happy“, were absolutely wonderful servers. I just realized we forgot to take pictures of our food! Doh!

What is not to love! They offer a kids menu, vegan menu, vegetarian menu, or a standard selection which is just so inclusive. I went with my daughter and two grandchildren ages 6 and 4 while on vacation. We felt comfortable and enjoyed the food, our server, and the experience.
I have visited the Dome in the past for lunch or drinks. This is the first time for afternoon tea as usually I don't get booked in time. As expected it was delicious. A beautiful setting, crisp linen table cloth silver tea pots and china cups, with delicious food. Just what you would expect from afternoon tea at the Dome.
Always a delightful surprise at The Dome for food and drinks. For cocktails, one of the top three of my choice in Edinburgh with a good selection of classic and special and seasonal cocktails. It has now become a must-go spot for me to bring friends visiting Edinburgh. It provides a "balanced" food menu to cater for most dietary requirements. Very good value for money. Lovely atmospheric quality not only for Christmas. Well-preserved and maintained architecture inside and outside.
A beautiful building, with an incredible and grand interior. The service was amazing, cocktails were delicious and the atmosphere was just lovely for a sunday afternoon.
Definitely one for a celebration meal or drink too!
Lovely place and lovely staff members …
I loved the fancy decorations, all staff members were helpful, respectful and friendly. There’s only one thing i wish they had on the menu which is a halal options, or even a halal sign next to the veggie options, pastas etc.. just to make it easier to order. I absolutely will be back.
