The Waiting Room has recently had a big makeover, in terms of drinks on offer, a big plus as the craft and cask beer revolution (which I predicted a few years ago) has come to fruition. The food menu is also brilliant and long standing deals remain.
The burgers are well-known for their quality, and the variety of toppings ensures you can have a different burger every time. I usually go for haggis, mushroom and onion - a not so common choice.
The other main meals are of great quality too, the Highland Chicken is superb, as is the homemade Steak Pie. It is all very reasonable priced and the staff have a great knowledge of their products. The best pub in Morningside by a country mile.
Really nice and friendly pub. We stopped here for some drinks and food and were delighted with our choice. Staff were very friendly and very quick with their service.
Food was amazing and luckily open until 10. I love that breakfast is all day
Pleasant local bar/eatery with polite and efficient staff and an easy going laid back atmosphere.
On my last visit my pint took a while to pour but it was of excellent quality and was well worth the wait.
Has plenty of big screens for watching sport if that’s your thing and it can get particularly busy during the Six Nations rugby tournament in February and March.
Have not eaten here before, but the food looks good and would try it on a future visit.
was in for a wee catchup with a close friend. the service behind the bar was excellent the music was a bit loud to talk but that is probably my age. great venue definitely recommend.
Relaxed and friendly pub with good beer, whisky and food choices. Reasonable prices and great service.
Friendly helpful staff. Reasonable priced drinks and food. They did small plates at around £5 or £6, which we shared, see photo.
Wife and in the mood for fish and chips and she remembered Waiting room.
Very friendly staff, the food was perfect and would certainly recommend.

Quiet for lunch, warm, dog-friendly and lovely food. The lady who welcomed us was just lovely.
This bar seems to have a refurb on a regular basis, I hope that ends soon. The drinks offer is always really good and, currently, the food offering has a range to suit all budgets and needs.
Great friendly city pub, good food , always a nice atmosphere. Brilliant staff. It's a sports bar too & hogmanay is tops too..
Came expecting to get eggs Benedict and scrambled egg on toast for my son to be told the menu has all changed and there's no breakfast options. I cannot fault the staff as they helped out with my kids. However nachos without sour cream is a crime! Also the server asked if my little boy would like a scoop of ice cream and sauce so I agreed, then my son asked for more so the man got him more. He failed to tell me it was £3 a bowl so I got conned £6 for ice cream. The waiter made out like it was free!
Great bar for drink and good. Definitely worth a visit if you are interested in the Morningside area
Great new menu and wonderful friendly staff !
Highly recommend !
Lovely pub, friendly staff and covid safe. Food is also nicely made.
Great food at decent prices. Soup and steak a highlight. Lovely service and comfortable setting.
Would have been 5 stars, reserved a table to watch the rugby, plus drinks and nibbles however a couple came in and asked for the football to be shown, (take it they were locals), so we did not complain we just finished our drinks and left.
Great local pub, been coming here over the years now and then for food and it has never disappointed. The fries were awesome, a meal in themselves and the staff very friendly and helpful. Miss the beef stroganoff though, that was awesome!
