Absolutely delicious gourmet food at reasonable prices with an exquisite menu and impeccable service. One of my favpurite restaurants in Edinburgh. It's BYOB with low corkage and the food is hearty, wholesome and satisfying. Very unpretentious with excellent quality allround. 5 stars from myself, my partner and any friends or family we've taken with us.

Lovely and very cozy cafe. Went over for breakfast. Food was decent, nothing too great about it. Had eggs and toast, and sausage and egg breakfast roll. Sausage wasn't very great, a little too firm for my liking, eggs were a little watery but again decent. Also had hot chocolate and flat white, both of which were great, hot chocolate was rich and sweet, flat white, well you can't really go wrong with it. Must say though, the food was very filling, breakfast kept me going through a good couple of hours of touring the castle and old town. Loved the staff though, hence 4 stars.

Really recommended particularly for families with children. Staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble for them. Kept open all the time when 'Beast from the East' winter weather meant many local businesses were closed...go there and have great pies yourself!

Very friendly bistro with a menu to suit everyone. Interesting pies + sides to super salads, breakfasts or just a coffee. Dog friendly. We loved it!

Such friendly service and delicious food! We were nervous about eating out with kids, as they get very restless when sitting around. Our server had coloring books to preoccupy them, so the adults could enjoy the meal. She was wonderful! We will definitely be back!

I stopped outside this place thinking it would have been just another jazzy roll shop, but I couldnt have been more wrong if I’d tried. The food was just heavenly! Thick slices of bacon, lovely salmon, the scrambled eggs were done to perfection and the toast was on a nice type of bread too. Glad I went in and will certainly be recommending it to anyone in the area!

A warming bowl of soup (tomato with basil and chili) on a very cold day was most welcome. Friendly atmosphere enlivened by families with young children. Made up a sandwich even although it wasn't on the menu. Had to pass on the famous pie as it was only midday. Table runner could have been cleaner but meal served on a nice wooden platter
