Very tasteful Japanese food for an affordable price, so if you're travelling on a budget and looking for a nice meal then this is definitely the place to go. Sometimes it takes a little while to get served but its definitely worth it, especially the takoyaki I had were delicious. If I'm ever in Edinburgh again I'll definitely come again and try some different options from their menu!

The mood at this restaurant is great, the music is pleasant and calming and the dining area itself is nice! The menu has a variety of options for vegetarians, and I enjoyed the vegetable Yakisoba a lot. As for desserts, both the Mango Cheesecake and the Black Sesame Panna Cotta were delicious! The service was friendly and the prices are affordable. I highly recommend this for a chill night out in Edinburgh.

Incredible ramen, probably the best in Edinburgh. The service is sometimes a hit or miss but one of the waitresses is so lovely, I wish I caught her name. Much better during dinner time, with the pretty, orange lighting. A little expensive but definitely worth it.

Excellent version of Hakataya in the city! Their ramen and gyoza are fantastic as always. We will definitely be back! Just a note on the service since I see several complaints of inattentiveness. It is Japanese style service for the most part. I.e. if you want something, call for the server (either by the button on your table or just raising your hand). Otherwise they will leave you alone. I know it's different than what you're used to, but try it, it's nice.

Visited Sunday lunchtime, and were allowed in few minutes early while they were placing advert outside, so we wouldn't have to wait in street. All staff very polite and food was good, but individual main dishes not very filling, so need sides and starters, which makes is bit pricey; although normal for this type of cuisine.

We've been there for a Japanese cooking lesson. After a slow start (we were waiting outside with rain and wind but no one let us in, as they were preparing for lunch and the class) we went in and the chef was funny and very easy to speak with. The class was relative simple, especially if you ever done some before, centered around maki sushi and California rolls. After that we had some food with the other attendant of the class, the food was alright nothing stellar, but all in all definitely an enjoyable morning/lunch.

My all time favourite place to go for sushi. It is truly authentic. The bento boxes are brilliant for a quick lunch. The tempura prawns are huge! Sometimes some items may take longer to come out than others but that just proves that it is all cooked fresh to order. Not super cheap but well worth every penny.

They reopened after renovation the other day. So,previous reviews mean nothing. I ordered fried chicken, chill fried tofu and teriyaki chicken. Everything was hot and delicious. Especially fried chicken was crisp and great. I would recommend this restaurant to those who want to eat Japanese food.
