Just the best thai restaurant in Edinburgh!! I'm still surprised about the great quality of the food!! The flavours are just amazing!! Almost as if they managed to bring native ingredients from Thailand!!! Some of the dishes could be quite spicy!!! Which for me was a nice surprise!!! It is a small place so make sure you book a table!!! An overall amazing food experience!!

Nice Thai food with good service. There’s a pre-theatre menu for which if you order between 1730-1830 and leave by 1915 you get one appetizer and one entree for £13.50. Do note that they charge you extra for rice and tea. Really enjoyed the satay chicken skewer, the green curry chicken and the roasted duck.

Wonderful food. Duck spring rolls were to die for. Monk fish curry , Tom Kha all excellent. Realised at the end we didn't take any photos. Food was so nice we forgot.

Nice family run Thai. Very friendly host and food was delicious. Thai food out of Thailand never blows me away, but just as good as fancier restaurants charging twice the price. Decor is a bit sparse, but clean, tidy and I'd happily eat here again.

Perfect food and the portion is perfect to be shared. E.g. 4 different dishes for 4 peeps is filling enough.

Food was really good. Not been to many Thai restaurants. Only problem being it was freezing cold inside.

Absolute Thai is aptly named. A lovely Thai husband and wife cooking their real Thai recipes for you - just as Thais themselves like it. There's no better indicator of authentic Thai food. Absolutely Thai and I love it. Small restaurant means an attentive service. Now December 2020 they can offer their delicious dishes only as takeaway to enjoy at home. Good things don't last forever so don't delay!

Great value and great food. Small restaurant so better to book. BYOB with a reasonable corkage charge. Mainly Thai with a few Indonesian dishes. Friendly staff. Slightly off the beaten track but well worth checking out.

Excellent Thai food. Bring your own wine (glasses provided), corkage £2.50 per bottle. Tom yum soup very nice, recommend chicken and spring onions from the wok. Pad Thai nice but could be a bit more spicy. Service very friendly in this family run business.

De-li-cious! We did not mind waiting a wee bit longer; they're popular, family run and obviously hard working. You can taste the fresh ingredients in this authentic cuisine. I'm known to be fussy usually but could not fault anything. From the beautifully cut vegetables to the attentive packaging so that the food would not get soggy by the time we got back home. Thoroughly enjoyed our no-nonsense take away - thank you - we'll definitely be back soon.

Have been several times. Last week had spicy duck curry - it was rich and delicious. Previously I had a curry with sirloin steak - big portion sizes and meat always seems good quality. My friend always has the veggie pad thai and loves it! July 2021 update - after a year an a half absence we returned to another delicious meal, spicy duck curry and the pad thai again.... Thanks

Truly wonderful food in an unusual little restaurant. The restaurant is tucked away and the owners have made managed a very small space creatively. The waiter wasn't as friendly but they fed our large party with great quality food and the waitress was an absolute star! Definitely book in advance, a nice pre-theatre menu which is reasonably priced.

Went for takeaway, ordered a lovely Panang Tofu, the tofu was crispy, the grilled aubergines and asparagus fresh, the curry sauce tasty and the dish was decorated with various herbs. Sorry no photos, I was too hungry!
