Now we’ve not been out for brunch for a long time. This is what happens now we’ve decided to become proper grown ups, bought a house and chosen to get married all in the same year. So when I spotted an excellent little offer on Itison for brunch at Lebowski’s Bar Edinburgh I quickly snapped it up and waited until the right moment came up. That was to be a Sunday morning before we were going to do some wedding stuff in town. I thought I’d get Mr E on side and ready for the day with a full cooked breakfast and coffee.

When I first moved to Edinburgh, I had no idea where to go, rather a visual person and what grabs me, living in Castle Terrace, always browsing Lothain, this place become our "Central Perk". For the lunches, shandies and Russian Cocktails! Great vibe, Lovely westernized food, greatly displayed and staff behind the bar are great! On a weekend the bouncers are so welcoming as well and have great banter and suggestions of what to get! Great vibe, great menu and style. THE BURGER! How it comes in that mini cute fierier piece. Everyone likes small things!
Great for dates, friend meet ups and a chilled vibe!
This is my best place for lunch during the week. They have a £5 lunch deal which is just awesome. Quality food and even a drink included! I also been in for drinks and proper food as well and never been disappointed. The must try is the White Russian obviously and their burgers and fish and chips are brilliant! I also been in with over 10 ppl for dinner and they handled us pretty well!
It's a nice pub which can get pretty loud on Fridays and Staurdays. I usually come here to have a white russian which they make very well and a big selection of different ones. I've seen DJ playing here couple of times which in my opinion plays the music too loud if you want to have some food. Overall, it's a pub with chilled atmosphere and quite young demographics. Try it if you're around Lothian Road!
Tried the pulled pork burger whilst being serenaded by the greatest hits of ska music. Massive burger and tasty fries. Heafty and tasty, would be ideal hangover saviour.
I had the pulled pork was not disappointed and tats were fab will definitely be going back .Staff were very polite and helpful it was very busy at lunch time the service was fast. Think I will have a White Russian the next time .
Lebowskis is the place to go if you love a White Russian and a big burger.
The drinks menu has 4 pages worth of White Russian combinations, I tried the salted caramel which was a chalkboard special - it was delicious!
To eat, I had The Big Lebowski burger which was a double stacked beef burger, along with chunky chips -it was impossible to finish but tasted really great.
My friends had tried the Macbowski chicken burger and the Curry burger, they were also happy with their meals. Service was good, food came fairly quickly.
Only ever been to lebowskis for the lunch time £5 deal and think it is delicious. The quality of food for £5 is very good, I really like the cheese on toast with caramelised onions. Always very busy, but they always managed to squeeze us in :)
Decided after many recommendations (and repeated pestering from my brother-a lover of both burgers and white Russians) to venture into Lebowskis.
I was not disappointed. Loved the chilled atmosphere and decor, the lovely waiting staff and the food was great!
I went for the Big Macbowski burger which was good but a little dry. However this would have been easily rectified with a sauce which you can order on the side. I had a bite of my fiancés Labowski Burger and it was amazing.
And you can't go to Lebowskis and not have a white Russian. Especially when the they have so many varieties they need their own menu! I ordered "The Police Chief," which was yummy!!!
I am now in a complete food coma and actually had to give a quarter of the burger away!
You have been warned. Come hungry!
Tats The Way. This bar / diner has the most wonderful laid back ambience with it's original wooden floors, cast iron pillars, dark wood panelling and comfy leather booths. The menu is dominated by the burgers and hot dogs but I opted for the £5:00 lunch deal. My open steak sandwich was perfectly cooked with melt in the mouth strips of beef. However, the highlight was the superb wedges (or tats in Lebowski speak). Crunchy on the outside but light and fluffy in the centre and bursting with flavour. The service was prompt and friendly (thanks Charlotte) and, overall, it was an enjoyable visit.

Its been years since I last stepped into this bar. So many in fact that I can't remember the previous names above the door. But who cares about that? Right?
Anyways the interior has a rustic old feel to it, I'm pretty sure it hasn't changed that much. But its casual and has loads of booths to cosy up in.
I was told about the white Russians and that they were good. So I went completely out my comfort zone and ordered one. I would normally stay clear of milky drinks on a night out as they tend to curdle in ma belly, but no this was a treat!
I would recommend this place to go with friends for an easy night out, although at times you are listening to the funky music rather than you're mates because the music is too loud! :)
Great place for a quick drink (make it any kind of white russian) after work or for an informal dinner with friends (their burgers are awesome), Lebowskis is always a good choice.
Although I am not a huge fan of the Big Lebowki's film, I have to say, the places lived up to my expectations. I definitely need to get there way more often.
There is some kind of hipster-esque craze for pulled pork at the moment. I don't know where it came from but frankly, I am actually quite pleased about it.
Slow-cooked as opposed to fast food just tastes better. If that food is sticky, barbecue flavoured and messy to eat, all the better. So naturally that's what I ordered at Lewbowski's.
I played a dangerous game and kept the metal skewer in my burger throughout the meal to keep my burger intact. Structural integrity and pulled pork are not natural comrades. Bonus points for me not stabbing myself in the face.
Secondary to the tasty food (including chips-in-a-bucket, another food fashion i've fallen victim for) is a wide selection of dark rum. This is excellent news for a girl who is saddened in any bar who list spiced rums as their only dark rums. I've had three of their darks but have yet to exhaust them.
Definitely lives up to its namesake. The drinks menu is dominated by a multitude of variations of the White Russian all of which were simply sublime. The food however was not up to bar, my hot dog didn't taste of much but who cares when you're living the life of the dude. Cream is food right?
The rug really ties the room together though.
Let’s face it, The Big Lebowski is an incredible film. Utterly cool and very funny, it’s got to be up there in our top films so we had high hopes that the bar with a Big Lebowski theme would soon feature in our list of top Edinburgh eateries.
It’s a nice bar, filled with homages to the classic film, drinks feature in a White Russian section of the menu and there are burgers bearing the same name as the bar/film. We ordered a legendary Lebowski burger for the lady and a Big Lebowski burger for the greedy gent.
We also ordered onion rings, which came with extra added salt, unbearably salty but nothing a few sips of cider couldn’t fix.
The regular Lebowski burger was colossal, it arrived before mine and I immediately started to wonder how big The Big Lebowski would be…
It was positively HUGE. There was no easy way to get into it - I’d need a plan of attack.
I delved into the burger like I would a cake, slice by slice. Sadly, the burger was too charred, leaving an unwanted taste of burnt meat. There were some redeeming features, parts of the burger which weren’t burnt were fairly decent, nice and juicy with plenty of cheese oozing out from every angle.
Overall, it was a pretty disappointing burger, there’s no doubt this could have been a good meal with some minor tweaks. Ease off the salt (you can always add more) and don’t cremate the meat.
I was only hungry for one thing after this, the Coen Brothers classic, which we consumed as soon as we got home.

The best Mac & Cheese in Edinburgh! Burgers are very good too.
The Lebowski Pub is not a typical pub with ordinary drinks. If you go to Lebowski you have to try its famous drinks such as 'The Dude' or 'Walter'. Once you step in to the pub you can feel an amazing atmosphere that you cannot find in any other pub. The food is very good, had a chicken burger with chips and then a few famous drinks. Prices are reasonable, about £5 for a drink.
5 stars, but that's just like, my opinion, man.
A really enjoyable and inviting bar venue. Very comfortable and could easily spend a long time relaxing here.
The drinks are excellent. A good range of White Russian varieties and flavours to select from. We had a few different flavours and all found them all to be delicious and of high quality.
A good selection of food is also available, both meals and snacks. The staff and service were great. Friendly, efficient and made the experience that bit more relaxing and enjoyable.
The drinks were really delicious and reasonably priced. The only downside is that it seems a bit understaffed because service was pretty slow and it was very loud. While you’re trying to enjoy your meal, it is really hard to hear people sitting across from you, so that got a bit frustrating. However, our waitress was really nice and the place was clean so there isn’t too much to complain about! I’d definitely go back for a drink or two in the future.
This place is AMAZING! The atmosphere is fun. The food is fantastic. The portions are big. This is the best food I've had in Edinburgh so far. Definitely worth the trip no matter where you are coming from. This should be the Mecca of Lebowski fans!
Superb burgers and very reasonably priced beers. It was an excellent stop for very hungry cinema goers and the staff were very friendly and polite. Crazy cocktails too!
Big burgers, which may be simple in form but fantastic in practice.
As someone who has previously sworn off milk-based drinks, the bar was a revelation - consider me a convert!
Reasonable prices, and easily one of the friendliest bars in town
Nice place to hang. Big Lebowski is on all the time. All coctails are named after the movie characters. Place has a good vibe
This place has awesome burgers. If you want a good burger try them.
They are located fairly central and you can sit inside or outside, the place has a cool vibe.
