Authentic Asian food with a wide variety to choose for. Even though I am a non vegetarian ; even the veg appetizers were very good . And the number of items available will make people confused what to have and what to skip.
Ambience is good too.
Will definitely visit the place again if I am in Edinburgh in the future.
I went here with my partner after a boozy night out. We had the 8 pound lunch. I had ribs and then crispy chili beef. Both were very tasty. Nicola had prawn cocktail lemon chicken. She said both were very tasty. For desert we had ice cream and banana fritter. We will definitely be back again.
I went to Randezvous for lunch last week and I have to say I didn't know what to expect. We just heard they have a lunch menu for a good value 2 courses for £8 so we decided to give them a chance. The restaurant is located upstairs on West End but once we entered the room we were pleasantly surprised with the decor and atmosphere. The restaurant looks like it was decorated by a woman. Red and black colour scheme and lovely lamp shades everywhere! It really shine the 'randezvous' vibe! The lunch menu is actually 3 courses for £8 which is a bargain in such a great looking restaurant. I had the fried spring rolls for a starter which were good and for the main I had a curry with fried rice. I asked for extra spicy and it was just up to my taste! Full of flavour and delicious! For a dessert I had a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The service was very friendly and efficient. I really enjoyed this restaurant and I can definitely recommend it for all those Chinese food lovers out there looking to dine in a nice and relax restaurant! Give Randezvous a try and you won't be disappointed!
Great restaurant, friendly staff, best Shredded beef I've had, good value, try it!
Do yourself a favour and have one of the set meals. I've been coming to this restaurant since I was 12 and it still produces excellent Chinese food. I'm now 45 !
Decor a bit down trodden but food v tasty for a pretty good Chinese maybe a wee bit pricey for a take away
I had a nice lunch here at Rendezvous restaurant. The place can be a bit hard to find as it is less obvious (go in through the door and take the stairs up). Quite an extensive menu! I ordered the bean curd family style and egg fried rice. It also came with some crackers. The bean curd dish was delicious. I asked for it to be spicy and indeed it was spicy which was nice! Overall it was a good experience.
Excellent authentic Chinese food, warm young owner Mr Chan operates with passion and heart.
Highly recommend for gourmets looking for Chinese food in Edinburgh.
We have been eating at The Rendezvous for almost 40 years and never had a bad meal.,the good is far superior to most other Chinese restaurants I’ve been to. The deep fried shredded beef is one of our favourites.
The quirky located and old fashioned decor are big plus points for me.
We were there yesterday evening again and could not fault it.
Highly recommend.
Excellent food. A banquet for 6 of us. Would recommend without reservation
The food and atmosphere here was great!!
They serve Lunch Meul which is £13.99per person.
I ordered the spare ribs as starters,it tasted really good.
As for Main dishes,I will recommend Kung Po chicken if you like bland food.
Very reasonably priced, tasty food with large portions. The lemon chicken and Peking prawns and a side of rice were more than enough for me and my wife.
That chicken was moist with a nicely crisped skin. The prawns were fresh and flavorful.
The staff were at the ready and genuinely helpful.
I just wish that we had more time in this city to try out other dishes!
Been coming here since I was a child, absolutely my favourite Chinese restaurant.
Great staff and amazing food.
Highly recommend the shredded duck!
I judge a Chinese restaurant by its hot & sour soup, first (!) and this one was perfect. All the food was solid - traditional dishes you expect from a westernized Chinese restaurant - customer service was excellent, and the place is clean and well set up.
Delicious food, not heavy or greasy at all. Probably the only Chinese I've been to where they don't oversalt the food. Love the decor, it looks like it hasn't changed since it opened in 1956 and I love that, not going with flashy trends. It's a simple decor and let's the food do the talking.
We stopped coming here but I don't really know why.The food was fabulous and the service was great. The restaurant itself is basic but as I always say you go for the food and ambience not the decor(although sometimes it helps)We had a lovely evening and will be back
Simply great food. Old school style. Best dumplings and prawn crackers I’ve had in a while, followed by main courses to match. Thanks!
Lovely food and great service, didn’t blow my head off but it’s rock solid
You'll only see the doorway off the street, but it's a great little establishment. Great service and great food! 😃
The oldest Chinese restaurant in Edinburgh, we've been coming here since the 1960s. Lovely food, great service and nice staff.
Top Chinese restaurant. Food is excellent as ever, although could be bigger meat portions. Heavy on the vegetables, which suited my wife. Service very good 👍.
Great food and service. Loved the share plate starters and save room for toffee apple too!
Tried lunch here because found out ninja buns was closed!!🤔 Had crispy chilli beef, ribs starter and fritter for zerts...the ribs were sooooo nice ! Crispy chilli beef was more fried beef with a bit of batter. Fritter was the bomb!!! Defo going to try the evening menu 💯
