I took my friends from London here during the weekend, by far one of the best choices, I have been here a while back and left with great things to say! Foods is fantastic also had my first ginger raspberry beer! Who knew that excited!
We had 9 people and they seated us before we even finished ordering drinks at the bar. Service was great and food was good. Having just been in London, prices seemed fair. Balmoral Chicken and Haddock & Chips were both good amongst variety of other dishes we tried. Server was friendly and very accommodating.
I had the meal deal (two courses for a set price), which was really nice. Menu was limited, nut nicely prepared and nice staff.
Nice. During a trip to Edinburgh me and a few of my friends tried out The Granary. We were greeted and eated quickly and the staff were lovely. The woman serving informed us of their wines, very well I may add, and the menu choices were delicious. If I'm back in Edinburgh then the Granary is a must for dinner!
Decent enough. Popped in for a quick after work dinner the other night.
Had battered fish and chips.
Fish was nicely done with a decent (but substantial) batter, and the chips were excellent. Tartare sauce was totally un-tangy, but there you go.
We also shared a nice little salad with pear, smoked cheese and walnuts. Good selection of fresh veggies- only let down again by lack of zing in the dressing.
They do a good selection of 'gastropub' style numbers like steak, and stuff, and a small selection of seafood.
I had a wonderful experience at The Granary!
The food was absolutely delicious – the antipasti board and seafood orzo were a perfect pairing.
The service was attentive and friendly, making the dining experience even more enjoyable.
The icing on the cake was the picturesque view of the river. It's a great spot for a quiet meal in a beautiful location.
SO happy we stumbled upon this spot in our travels! We ventured down to Leith for a change of scenery from Edinburgh. The location and “proper Sunday roast” advertised sold me. Server was incredibly personable and hospitable. We had the Sunday roast, which we were craving all week long. Portion was enormous, and great value for price. Lovely location overlooking the canal. A must!
Perfect place to envoy a drink and delicious food after a long day exploring Edinburgh. I took the haggis, even tough I'm quite new to it. The waiter told me it was the kind of food his mother would prepare - that convinced me! Such delicate and rich flavors, very comforting. My partner took the fish and chips, a very good choice also! Overall, a very satisfying dinner, at a reasonable price.
American Chef here! The absolute best food I've had in almost a week in this city trying the top restaurants each day! This young passionate Chef understands flavors better than many 30 year career Chef's. Within 10 years this Chef will be one of the top Chef's in all of the UK! Get his food now while it is still affordable for the working class! Very impressive yet simple but complex at the same time!

One of the best restaurants we’ve encountered during our Edinburgh / Leith trip. The food is amazing and of great quality and they’ve got a lovely staff. We recommend this place with 10 ⭐️ ⭐️

A truly wonderful place to visit, incredible food, really nice atmosphere and a very warm reception from the staff! Was there recently for a staff night out, delicious meal and the beer was lush too! Highly recommended, will definitely visit again!
Food looked great on the plate. Fish and Chips which my husband had was also great. The chips were sooo crispy and the fish batter had good crunch, seasoned well and I could taste the beer in it too!
But for my seafood orzo, the king prawn was unevenly cooked. Some parts were okay but some parts where under/raw. Also its intestines were not properly taken out so it had a bitter after taste. The staff were professional and apologetic about it. They offered to make me a new one but I already felt full having eaten almost half of the orzo pasta, so I declined. I would still go back and try their other dishes because the staff were nice.
Fantastic food, excellent service, comfortable atmosphere and great pricing too!
Problem at first with booking,as Brunch option, still is shown,on website & that's what we booked.
Phonecall later & time changed for lunch.
Food was all tasty & ideal going at 12:00,on a Sunday,as nice & quiet.
Don't agree, with service charge, included in bill.
Prefer,to pay for service,with a tip,if it's deserving.
Service was good.
Had a nice lunch here today. Right by the shore, seats inside and out. Lovely staff who were attentive the whole time. The menu is pretty good and you're not overwhelmed by choices. My burger and skinny fries were decent. Although for £15 I expected better to be honest. My friend's club sandwich had too much tough bread in it and the chicken was overcooked and hard to eat. She didn't much enjoy it. Again, for the price it should be perfect. My son had sausages and mash and he loved that. Although again, a drink and an ice cream are charged extra for kids and almost everywhere has that included these days.
All in all a nicely decorated place with great staff, but food should be absolutely perfect at their price point and it's not quite there.
Really good food and well worth a visit. Sit outside on the dock side or inside the clean and spacious restaurant. Nice team of staff always happy to help. We liked it so much we came back.
Switched to the Granary from a bar near by and it really saved our evening. I can not judge food because we were only there for drinks. But cocktails were extremely tasty, the people at the bar were very kind and we were also lucky that live music was played. I would recommend going here !!!
Came in to try the Cranachan while on a food tour of the area. It was delicious and the staff were kind and courteous. Would recommend!
Was fairly empty on Monday. Over 30 minute wait for food and one main was missing. Staff made it right quickly and without fuss, but this shouldn't happen when it's not busy. However the error was recognised and the bill was generously discounted to compensate without us asking. Benefit of the doubt, maybe they were short staffed, there only seemed to be two staff running the bar and food orders.
The food was good and I would definitely visit again for the good value and good children options. Just be prepared for a wait.
