Forget the establishment next door! This place never disappoints. Cozy front bar and amazing main bar inside with some fabulous cocktails. Wanted something warm on a crisp cold day. Asked the staff for a 'hot toddy' (whisky with lemon and honey) and a baileys coffee. Came perfectly prepared and nothing was too much. Will be returning especially over the festive period!
Team lunch here today, bunch of 7 of us. Cooped into a tiny table and all opted for the 2 for 15 deal (the menu is pretty good) the house wine was flowing and most of us opted for the pate or the ham croquettes and then fish and chips or steak salad. The pate was nice but far too creamy. The steak salad was bang on. Tasty rare steak with goats cheese and salad. The fish and chips looked epic. Service left a lot to be desired and given it was so empty I don't understand how that is possible. Good food...needs a better service for lunch most definitely
A group of us came here last weekend after visiting the Christmas market. I had never been before and it is much bigger inside than it looks outside.
We ordered prosecco and cocktails and sat in a booth that was perfectly sized for all 7 of us. After a while we decided to order some food as well. A few of us order starters to nibble on but a lot of people opted for the burger. I chose the chicken wings which were good, but I found them quite difficult to eat because they were quite big. I really liked the look of the salmon, so I would probably try that on my next visit.
The staff were friendly but not over bearing. It was the perfect place for us to enjoy some drinks and food because it is so big. I would definitely recommend Le Monde for groups of friends as it is a fun, yet sophisticated setting.
Beautiful breakfast! I had the full grill breakfast and it was fantastic. Can't fault it. Very well presented and top quality ingredients cooked to perfection. Will be going tomorrow for the same again!
Went alone on a Monday night while on a business trip. Not crowded that night but still the atmosphere was pleasant and the staff friendly. I liked the modern setting (more than the Dome next door). Music pop rock and not too loud. Went for a mojito cocktail (the waiter apologised for being short offresh mint and went to buy some locally), a filet steak, excellent (served with cress salad, mushroom and tomato, and potatoe gratin) and a glass of Rioja. Pleasant calm evening for a business bachelor.
Awesome night!!. 1st time at Le Monde and the food was great and the cocktails were delicious (especially the strawberry daquiri!!). Waiters seem pretty freindly. I will def be back!!
The menu is quite large, with a variety of dishes from different countries, but unfortunately each time I’ve been there the gluten free choices have been very limited. The serving staff never seem to know what is gluten free and what isn’t, but they always go and check with the chef and come back to let me know what my options are. Some of the dishes are naturally gluten free and they’ll provide the option of taking away part of a dish that isn’t (e.g. removal of the bread, the sauce, the croutons etc)
It does seem a bit odd to be heading into a hotel bar for what I'm reliably informed are the best Eggs Benedict in town, but here we are anyway. The eggs benedict aren't drowned in sauce which is good as there really is nothing worse than not being able to taste the delicate flavour of a well poached egg if it's covered in hollandaise, but they seem to have the balance fairly well established.
The smoked salmon that comes with my scrambled eggs isn't what I'd expect given the high quality of Scottish salmon and I suspect this is more of your average supermarket buy but it pairs beautifully with the scrambled eggs, which are well cooked.
Love this place for a cocktail or two. I've been here a few times over the past couple of weeks and have really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is great especially on a Friday or Saturday and I would definitely recommend their French Martini's! My new favourite :) although I haven't tried their food yet I will have to go back for lunch or dinner at some point.

In the last post, I talked about how my inner-Scotswoman showed itself in an adoration of all fried food, now I must turn to my innate longing for that most British of occasions: Afternoon Tea.
For a friend's recent birthday we plonked along to Le Monde on George Street to enjoy an afternoon tea via an itison voucher that I gifted her. We were served a delightful gin cocktail, followed by an enormous assortment of cakes, pastries, and sandwiches.
I particularly liked the beef sandwich, although the mustard packed one heck of a punch! We were also served Salmon and Cheese sandwiches as I recall, which were very delightful indeed. No afternoon tea would be complete without scones, and these were very good, crumbly ones. I lament that clotted cream seems nowhere to be found these days, but I can hardly hold it against Le Monde when this ailment seems so utterly widespread.
The top tier of this rather fancy contraption was adorned with cakes which we were too stuffed too eat, so we had them wrapped to take home for dessert. The food was quite lovely and the surroundings were very swish, with a wide range of people there which somehow makes me feel more at ease. The service was ok, but at times they were very busy and nobody seemed around. Not that we minded greatly as we were too busy gossiping. For ladies who lunch, this is a fine establishment indeed.
Always a favourite for cocktails where there is a thoughtful and different menu, not just the usuals. The service was excellent. Marked down only because it was so very noisy,
Beautiful building, and interior. Staff friendly and attentive. We ordered from brunch menu, and all 3 of us very happy with our food. Reasonably priced - would happily visit again.
The afternoon tea was excellent quality, the staff were amazing, so friendly and kind and the cocktails were delicious.
Highly recommend.
Popped in for a quick cocktail and would definitely recommend !!! Go for something from the world cocktail menu !!
Friendly and helpful staff!!
Great quality bar with cheerful staff
Prebooked experience for a hen party. Euan was mega helpful and really made us feal very welcome super experience highly recommend.
We had the Dirty Martini bar for my boyfriends 30th. It was a last minute booking due to a cancellation at the other venue we had booked. The managers went above and beyond to accommodate us and honoured the plans we had made with the other venue. Massive thank you to Annabel & John who were amazing 😊 Annabel made us feel so welcome and was super helpful all evening! I would definitely recommend the Dirty Martini bar for functions!
Was quiet but cocktails were 10/10 try the Bohemian cocktail superb.
Went here for my girlfriend's mother's birthday, so glad we chose here over other cocktail bars. All of the staff were friendly, and our waitress Kate was fantasticly helpful! The esspresso martinis are fantastic, highly recommend.
Great drinks, lovely attentive service
Great cocktails and a decent wine list. Helpful in altering drinks to your preferences too.
Nice decor with suitable lighting makes the place feel relaxing and sophisticated.
It's definitely worthy of the small bank loan it cost us for the night there
Always a lovely drink and great service in le monde
