First class experience dining at the Pompadour last night. Brilliant, high quality food, beautifully presented with well matched wines. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. I would highly recommend and will most definitely be back soon.

My wife took me for a surprise birthday treat. Wow wow wow. The welcome was very warm our servers were knowledgeable and attentive. The tasting menu and matching wines were quite stunning. The portions were not huge as you would expect but you still left feeling very satisfied. Yes it's expensive. However its a treat. We will be back for sure. Highly recommended.

Had a wonderful night at the Pompadour with my wife. All the staff were excellent and well trained. The Maitre D was fantastic, very engaging, humorous and attentive, with excellent knowledge of the food and wines. The Lobster and Duck were the best I have ever tasted. Will definitely return.

My husband and I had a lovely 8 course meal here during our stay. Staff and sommelier were very helpful with their recommendations. Looking forward to coming back someday.

Tasting menu and the paired wines (we also took the extra cheese course and some nice port they recommended). Very enjoyable meal - decided on here due to other positive reviews, particularly feedback on his other restaurant Haar. Lovely setting in the hotel. My partner is Coeliac and they adapted all her dishes to be gluten free (she claims it was the best G/F bread she's ever had!). Tables are well spaced out, so you don't feel like you're sitting on top of each other. Staff were all attentative and knowledgeable about what they were serving - the Head Chef even came out with one course. It felt very relaxed in the restaurant, there was no rushing us. Be aware, there is a service charge (12.5%) automatically applied to the bill. I don't like the presumption of this, but I think the service was worth it (but at the customer's discretion).

Absolutely perfect. Treated my wife for her Birthday yesterday, this place must be near a Michelin star?? The service was impeccable, the maitre’d was an absolute super star. We were made to feel extremely special and all courses explained. We did decide to include Chef’s signature course to our tasting menu and it was simply divine. However make sure you are hungry as we left absolutely stuffed full of lovely food! In short this place was off the map, a fine dining experience well worth the prices quoted. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone, and will certainly look to return if I’m fortunate enough to re-visit Edinburgh. Huge thanks to the entire Pompadour team for making it such a special evening.

We went for a 5 course discovery menu with paired wines yesterday and it was absolutely exceptional. The location is beautiful, the service is unbelievable and the food is just out of this world. We absolutely loved the experience and would recommend it to anyone. What a fantastic night we had!

Had the tasting menu and both the food and service were exceptional. Although the staff and setting are quite formal it was easy to relax and enjoy ourselves, and our servers were warm and friendly. Solid wine list.

Birthday dinner here and it was totally fantastic. This place is situated in the Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh and by god is the building impressive! As is the views!! We had the menu gourmand which is a 7 course meal paired individually with its own wine. The food was an absolute delight. I really don't like red wine however the port krohn colheita ('98) has given me hope. The presentation, the dishes, the wines.. a food adventure.. hats off to the staff at pompadour! You have a new fan..

Always have a great experience here and love the attention to detail that they bring to the food and the service both. Good value Sunday lunch and early evening menus to more extravagant tasting experiences, there's plenty of ways to spoil yourself and feel special.

Had an amazing meal here - got a voucher for a discounted meal and although the staff knew this from the start at no point were we made to feel like second rate customers like in some other places where I've done the same. The menu was succinct but beautiful and very seasonal and every member of staff was extremely knowledgable about the food and wine. The ambience is lovely - perhaps a tad old fashioned but that can be quite comforting, and given that you are eating in a waldorf astoria hotel, it's to be expected. Highly recommend this for a special occasion, it's grand without being intimidating and makes for a very memorable evening.

A stunning restaraunt , beautifully and tastefully decorated with delicious French cuisine. Plenty of space in the reception and dining/event room that we were in, with a beautiful view from the large windows. I enjoyed a beautiful 3 course meal at an event here. The staff were courteous and able to refill drinks glasses with stealth that I and my friends felt was akin to ninjas. The presentation of the drinks was something else too. Our cocktails and mocktails were adorned with candyfloss in a sort of wistful homage to our winter theme for the party and the meals courses had some fantastic colours and tastes throughout. This is really somewhere I'd really love to visit again as the menu was imaginative, fun and something I'd never cook for myself. I can certainly see this as a breathtaking place to hold a reception for a wedding or anniversary dinner.
