The Buffet is amazing with unlimited food and the food tastes awesome. The best Indian food I have ever had.

You can get your own drink as well, what else do you want?

Had buffet lunch here and it was great. I couldn't remember the price (around 8£ I believe) but it's worth it. The selection was not too large but it's enough and they all tasted good. The place was clean and nice. The staff could be more welcoming, but it's not really a big deal.

We have eaten here at least a dozen times. £7.95 for an adult. Eat all you can buffet with a welcome soft drink and either tea/coffee or icecream. Usually 4-6 choices of curry, 2 choices of rice and nan bread. Variety of starters and hot side dishes suitable for veggies and vegans. The food is of reasonable quality. Tasty. The only down side is that you always have to tell them when there out of something at the buffet. But well worth visiting there lunch buffet.

Buffet lunch is worth a visit. Originally reviewed on www.edinburghspotlight.com
I have enjoyed a few lunches at the Red Fort in Drummond Street thanks to their excellent buffet offer. Always busy with students who pay £6 and families that pay under £7 for an adult and £3.50 for children. This includes a welcome drink and an ice cream with tea or coffee to finish off the meal.
We were welcomed by the staff and seated, but it wasn't really explained to us how it worked and if we were allowed more than one visit to the food (we were). There are enough choices to satisfy both vegetarians and meat eaters. The choices when we dined consisted of one table with lamb madras, chicken pathia, chicken korma, chicken tikka bhuna, pilau rice and chicken chat pat.
And on the other table, were the vegetarian choices of mixed vegtable pakora, chana herbs, vegetable jalfrezi, tarka dal alongside rice and nan bread.
Not one to by shy of food, I piled a lot of everything on the plate and retreated to my table for a feast. The food was ok, but not outstanding. It's certainly good value and perfect for filling up on.
I had a second plateful as did my three dining partners and left ourselves too full for the ice cream for dessert.
There is no corkage charge for BYOB and house wine is reasonable at £11 a bottle. Red Fort also do pre theatre dining deals.
Not my favourite Indian restaurant in town, but for that price - it certainly satisfies an Indian meal fix.

The staff were friendly and left us to dig in, we were unsure about the set up only finding out later that there was a welcome drink available with the meal and tea/coffee/ice cream at the end. We only expected to find four or five different curries but were pleased to see a whopping ten!

We came upon Red Fort last weekend while looking for a cheap but filling dinner in between Fringe shows.

There were very few people and the buffet had been dismantled which I found a bit concerning given that it was 8:30 on a festival night. The menu was very simple which I hoped was because they chose to stick to what they were good at rather than attempt a huge array of dishes.

I opted for a Bhuna, Jalfrezi and naan all of which were reasonably priced, the curry being around 8 pounds. The service was impeccable and we soon received our food.

I was pleasantly surprised by the dishes, the Bhuna had a coconut base but was sufficiently spicy and the Jalfezi rice generous, there’s nothing I hate more than paying for a side of rice and then not having enough to finish my curry with.

All in all both my friend and I had a surprisingly lovely meal and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great quality,  cheap and cheerful Indian meal.

This was my first proper Indian with my son, who went and ordered the spicy North Indian chicken with garlic and chilli: spicy but so tasty! Some of the best Indian I have eaten and we will be back.

Excellent value and a good choice on the lunch buffet. I went during the festival and we all had plenty to eat for a very good price. I will definitely be back next time we are up for the festival. Ask for which are the house specials on the buffet. Good vegetarian and meat options.

This is one of my all time favorite restaurants in Edinburgh. Their lunchtime all you can eat buffet offer is just simply unbeatable. Very competitive price with a huge food selection. I've been visiting this restaurant for many years now and they shall have my custom in the future as well! If you are in the area between 12 and 3pm, pop in for a great value meal!

Probably the best all-you-can-eat restaurant you could find in Edinburgh. Good ambience and nice staff. Has student offers which is always a plus. They have a good selection of chicken and vegetable dishes. Would definitely recommend to try.

Went for the buffet lunch at the Red Fort. For the student price of £6.95 I was very impressed. The buffet offers a wide selection of starters to choose from - the pakora are divine. There is also a selection of sauces and salads to add to your starters. The main courses on offer include different ranges of spice and meat curries. The chicken korma was exceptionally good. The Naan bread is really fresh and tasty - not soggy at all. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is nice. There was a good ebb and flow of people while we were in - definitely a popular and tasty choice for a quick lunch in Edinburgh.

Great buffet during the afternoon and early evening. Good menu and low prices. No license but I have seen people take their own bottle in but why bother the mango juice is excellent.

Good place in central Edinburgh for Indian/south Asian diners. They serve an unlimited buffet with 3 chicken items, 4 vegetables including bhajias, naan roti and flavoured rice, followed by a dessert (we had kheer) and tea, coffee or a boxed fruit juice. All this for about £8.50 per person. There was a student discount for my daughter. Did was hot, reasonably tasty and service was very fast. Mohammad served us. He was cordial and pleasing.

I went there with my colleagues for lunch. The buffet costs only £10 for all you can eat. There was lots of curries dishes from mild to hot. We are allowed to have the beers (brought from outside). Masala tikka is my favourite.

Great value lunch spot on Drummond Street. After dozens of visits it's always been good and at £7.95 for pakoras, bhajis, a choice of buffet curries, a drink and ice cream who can argue. Curries could be a little more sophisticated, but I'm not complaining and keep going back again and again!!

I came for the value buffet lunch for 7.95 which includes a drink and coffee/tea/ice cream. Really good for the price. Decor could use an update though.
