This is a brilliant chinese either for sitting in or takeaway. If sitting in the service is absolutely fantastic, very personal and had great fun with the waitress. A hidden gem.

This is THE best Chinese takeaway in Edinburgh, by miles. The food is fresh and tasty but not overwhelming like lots of takeaways. This is the only place I have ever found that can do REAL crispy beef so that it is actually crispy! The duck is sublime and any prawn dish is highly recommended. Don't let the decor put you off - this place is a hidden gem!
Has to be my favourite place for Chinese. Food is amazing! The crispy duck and chilli beef are second to none. The owners are great too, delivering personalised service in a very professional manner.

Lovely service from an extremely friendly server. The food was quite good also! I had the sizzling chicken and black sauce with peppers. I asked for it extra hot and the chef was able to accommodate no problem. I will definitely be back! 👌🙂
Had an amazing take out from Shangri-la on Friday night. This lady was killing it making sure everyone had a satisfying Friday night meal during this crazy time when so many other restaurants are closed.
This must definitely be one of the very best Chinese Takeaway restaurants my friends and I have once again had the pleasure of ordering foods in Edinburgh. The food was ready in time but most of all every dish we ordered was delicious, and my favourites are the Singapore Fried noodles, Fried Squid in pepper, and the King Prawn Satay. Highly recommended to all the foodies out there. Guaranteed satisfaction and you'll be back for more, just like me and my friends.
Had a wonderful banquet chosen from the wide menu, favourite dish was Thai Red Curried Duck, Mongolian Beef a close second. We had takeaway and all dishes were hot and tasty with good portion sizes. Our favourite Chinese/Asian restaurant, friendly staff helps your enjoyment 👍👍
The food is fantastic, normally get the salt and pepper shredded chicken as a main, it's fantastic the curry sauce is amazing the sides are great, the portion sizes are good and the staff are polite and friendly. The only thing I can say negative is the delivery time can take a while at times but it's not all the time, so if you can drive it's probably best to pick it up.
Cannot recommend this chinese enough. First time there tonight with my boyfriend and ordered something not on the menu but they were so kind to make it for me and it was the best I have had in Edinburgh at the best price!! The women behind the counter was very welcoming and very nice to talk to. This is also a restaurant and it was very tidy and clean with such a nice atmosphere when we popped in to order a takeaway. Best Chinese around!!! Will definitely be back.
Food is great. Took a while to arrive (1hr30mins) but I ordered through just eat. I didn’t realise the restaurant was at the end of my street. If I knew that I’m sure I would have got the food pretty quickly as I would have picked it up myself haha
The most welcoming, delicious restaurant I’ve ever experienced. My girlfriend and I arrived late to Edinburgh, thankfully Shangri La was open. With the owner Tina at the helm, we were served and stuffed like we were at our second home. What began as a quick bite before bed turned into a lively dinner in which the conversation flowed from table to table to back of the house, etc. we had a great time and immediately were shown incredible Scottish hospitality. Thank you so much, Tina! We love you and we will be back.
3rd time with Shangri-la. First time, totally nailed my request at Peking style Chicken. The best I've had.
Second time, solidly nailed it again.
Third time, the owner who is exceptional (and a comedy riot) made sure that the food was spot on. Best one yet.
Absolutely recommend. And if you're having what I'm having, have the peking style chicken (popcorn style chicken) with Singapor rice. Portions are huge. You'll want to finish a single portion on your own despite the size.

Got a take away from here tonight and was surprised at the size of the portions I got a chicken curry and my partner got a king prawn curry but to be honest we could have easily shared one portion between us. Both lovely curries will definitely be back but maybe share a portion this time 😂
Duck with cashew nuts and fried rice was exemplary in flavour, good value and easily enough for two to share. Friendly and quick service. If you live in the area, you are lucky - they deserve your custom.

Wow the food from here is beautiful its cooked so well, its bigger portions fast delivery too.
Can I just say that I'm so used to square pieces of chicken in my curry from other places I'm just so shocked but so happy that this is not the case here the best curry I've ever had.
