Loved this place! We dropped in for some refreshments after climbing Arhurs Seat and had a great time. The atmosphere is very authentic and the staff are very friendly.

We tried Truva during the lunch hour and had a great experience. I tried the Lentil soup along with the Turkish Borek (pastry) and shared Turkish coffee and baklava for desert.  The atmosphere was lovely and paying just under £15 was a treat.

Cafe Truva is an authentic Turkish cafe situated at the heart of Edinburgh. We tried the Turkish Meze platter and the Chicken shish kebab which were simply great.  For a Mediterranean / Turkish experience they offer a varied selection of food and great selections of coffees/teas. The Turkish coffees was a great ending to the meal and the complementary Turksih Delights topped the experience. Well recommended!!!

Situated right across the harbor, this small restraunt won't disappoint u in anyway. Famous for its Turkish breakfast, we thought of giving it a try. We ordered Turkish tea and hot chocolate along with Veg breakfast and it was good. The breakfast was large in quantity containing sunny upside down along with beans, bread, butter and hash brown bites. Good start for the day..

I have been to Café Truva several times for lunch and/or tea and cake and it has never disappointed me. Their turkish dishes are good, big and tasty (try their kofte or the homemade moussake) but their cakes are otherworldly... So far, I have tried their Red Velvet, Carrot and Lemon Cheesecake...

The place is cozy and warm with friendly staff of course. The desserts were really tasty but too sweet and coffee very strong, ask about glass of water additionally. A little bit expensive but I’ve expected that due to the location. I suspect that meat here should be very tasty because I trust in Turkish cook

Had traditional Turkish coffee with a Turkish delight. Food and coffee were great. There's also a HUGE baked goods section, and lots of neat Mediterranean decor. Good location near shops, and Whisky stores.

Scottish breakfast was great, the bacon rasher was a bit too salty for my tastes. The side of haggis was the best part.

This was our first stop while in Edinburgh, and we were glad to find a place that served very late breakfast. The portions are large, the coffee is HOT and delicious, and the service was friendly. The food didn't blow me away, but it was tasty enough and we enjoyed our visit. Next time I would love to try the sweets in the dessert case: they looked amazing.

Truly one of the best coffee stops along the Royal Mile. My wife and I stopped in for a break and had the Turkish coffee with pastry. WOW! Large cups of strong coffee, with a delicious pastry, for very little money. The owners/manager made us feel like family. DO NOT miss this establishment!!!!

Popped in for a quick lunch, not busy on a weekday in the Winter but may be different at other times of year! Staff were friendly and made sure I got my scarf back when I left it there. Tasty selection of food and drink which was delivered promptly would return to try more items from the menu.

The chicken shish was so good that I asked what went into the marinade. The chef overheard and asked me into the kitchen to show me exactly how he made it, which tells you two things - they're a friendly and welcoming bunch, but also they're relaxed and confident enough about what goes on in the kitchen that letting strangers wander in there on the spur of the moment is not a problem. The menu is not huge but everything they do, they do very well. Superb ice cream scooped into cones for dessert too. (PS does anyone else find it amusing that the only bad review for this place is from someone who was fasting? If you're planning to actually eat, I'd thoroughly recommend it)

Called in here for a coffee and cake at the end of our visit to Edinburgh. We both had a Chai Latte which was coffee with a very Turkish twist. It came in a mug and was delicious. My wife had the chocolates - £3.95 for 4. Expensive? Very, but also very very nice. I had the chocolate orange truffle which was equally beautiful. If you are after a snack to tantalise your taste buds then this is the place. So why not 5 stars? Please sort out your housekeeping! Toilets were a disgrace and the tables, floors and seats were all dirty. It needs a deep clean! Sort this and the place should fill up more...would we go again? Yes. But if it was still dirty, it would be our last visit.

Went here with my girlfriend the other day and was really impressed. The internal decor is ok, and I agree with the other reviewer that the service is a little on the weird side, but what really made up for all of this was that the food was absolutely excellent. My girlfriend got a mixed starter plate that they serve as a main, while I got the chicken pesto couscous - for the money we paid (about £1-2 more than you'd pay for a sandwich anywhere in the area), I can't complain at all. I'm not a food critic, so all I can say is that it was just seriously tasty, and I can definitely recommend the mixed starters as the highlight dish. I see that the other review thought that the food was bad, so it may be that we got lucky in our choice of dishes or the restaurant changed things up, but on our experience I could definitely recommend the place.

Have the best, most amazing, tasty home made soup in Edinburgh. First spoonful is like a herb / spice party in your mouth. Every mouthful is different. You also get a massive bowl.. must stop spot on my Edinburgh tour list.. Have amazing cakes too 😋

Had a nice breakfast here when getting to the city. Staff was friendly but service was slightly slower than expected. Food was tasty and had good quality. Good selection of items as well.
