I have a lot of love for this place. I used to work just around the corner so you can imagine how strong the temptation was to pop in. The cakes are always fresh and tasty, sometimes I find they can have too much cream but that's just personal taste.
There is so many wonderful cake places in Edinburgh and this is one you should make sure to check it out.
What's around the corner of Albert Street..? Sicilian pastry shop!
Sicilian pastry shop have excellent cakes and pastries! Big cakes can be ordered for special occasions, I love ordering their cream cakes. At a very affordable price this shop offers tasty and delicious treats for everybody. From cakes to tray bakes to savoury bites, everyone can leave with a smile on their face.
I personally admire how much they have achieved considering the store is quite tiny and not in a very glamorous location. Whenever I pop in the store always has customers!
Highly highly recommended checking them oot!
The bakery made a large cake for my mother's 90th birthday. Looked great and tasted delicious. Very reasonably priced too - under Ā£30 for a cake that did 14 of us with some to spare.
Pastry paradise. This wonderful little shop just off Leith walk is the bakery equivalent of the tardis. I don't think they could cram any more delectable cakes, buns and pastries on the counter !! If it's the last day before the diet begins, make sure you come here. Needless to say, it's highly recommended.
For sure, you should visit it very soon, as the quality on offer is really impressive. Savoury and sweet lovers alike will be in for a genuine treat
Finally made it to this renowned wee bakery just off Leith Walk and it was worth the trek. Lovely old-fashioned sugary air wafts around as you stare at the counter packed with treats - all ridiculously well-priced. Having a sweet tooth, I went for a chocolate-dipped palmier-style thing, which was crisp and sweet; a light and super moist (but kinda potent) rum baba; and a cream-filled pastry similar to cannoli. Yum!
Just came to get my birthday cake š, literally 5 minutes and got it. Perfect service and quality, I buy cake there every year. Highly recommend!
Iāve lived in Leith for a while now and this shop has always been one of my favourites. Itās a small shop that has friendly shops and when you look through the counter you want everything.
I do love their cake that have fresh cream and fruit. I must have had it for more than 10 times atleast but I keep going back to it because itās so yummy. I also like their arancini .
I remember there being an occasion where I wanted to get just one thing but came back getting 5 or 6 items just because they looked tempting.
All of the items Iāve tried here are amazing . The staff as super helpful and super patient even if you keep asking them what a certain items are.
For the cakes, you can always call them up or use Facebook to send them a message.
Definitely going back there again whenever I get a chance.
Iāve been wanting to try this bakery for months now and oh my goodness, I finally got the chance!!
Firstly, the staff are just so lovely. The two women who served me were very patient, engaging with myself and my little boy and happy to have a joke and a laugh.
The pastries were all gorgeous, it was so hard to choose! I ended up buying a few different ones to try.
They are absolutely DELICIOUS and I couldnāt believe the prices!!!???! I got out Ā£20 for four sweet treats, unsure on if itād be enough but the total only came to Ā£7.80! I couldnāt believe it!
Just incredible all round. A real gem of Edinburgh. Iāll definitely be back.
Loveee their strawberry cheesecake! š«¶š»
Would add one more star if they have a lil bit bigger space for people to queue, and if they display each cakeās name and ingredients
I am not a desert person but this made me change my mind. They have a wide selection of delicious cakes, pastries, baked goods etc. We got the Chantilly fresh cream Gateaux slice which was an Italian vanilla sponge filled with Chantilly fresh cream and strawberry jam. It was light , moist with a perfectly balanced sweetness to it. And it costs us around Ā£2.35 which wasnāt too bad. I can highly recommend this! Next time will try their Black Forest cake āØ
Collected a wonderful birthday cake from this shop on Saturday. Ordering it online was so easy, and the cake was perfect. The lightest sponge, & it looked and tasted amazing. Very worthy of 5 stars - hassle free and a brilliant cake! (I added the disco ball decorations).
Got a box of goodies from here that only came to Ā£10. Incredibly well priced for what you get. We tried the viennese cookie which was delicious, the tiramisu cake which again was very very nice and a couple of macaroons which were good too. The red velvet was the only slightly average thing but all in all definitely worth a visit if you're passing through.
Tasty Cakes. Lovely staffs. Itās a small Cake Shop though. Bought many cakes from here esp for my daughterās Birthday. Not sure if you can order online but They have always ready Birthday Cake available but it can be sometimes sold out. They have donuts too and sandwiches.
You can order today and get it NEXTDAY!
Order this cake very last minute Good they have stock. The girl just messed up with ā2thā which should be 2nd lol š
Best cakes in Edinburgh Scotland. Sooo yummy. Vanilla iss toooo good. Simply love it. Owner and staff is also great. Polite and professionals. Highly recommended.
For any cake, pastries or savoury snacks this is the best place to go. Excellent prices and ingredients always fresh. Staff is welcoming and friendly. I will never go anywhere else again. I will buy here for any future occasion!
I'd like to thank you very much for making an absolutely beautiful celebration cake. It tasted amazing and my friends were very happy with their cake.
Been going here since I was a child . My parents used to buy our Birthday cakes. Now we are buying it for our kids now. Hands down the best cane and pastry shop in Edinburgh
You must try this shop, everything looks great. I have had a few different things already and I'm happy with everything. A little expensive but worth it especially if you like desserts. Really nice people who serve you too.
Love this place. Canāt believe how reasonably priced the treats are. I ordered 9 donuts for polish donut day and it only came to Ā£10 - unbelievable! Canāt think of anywhere else that is cheaper than that. As you can see from the pics they arenāt small either. They also tasted amazing. More of a bread like texture than your normal donuts with nice flavour. I also had a pistachio cannoli which was delicious. Everything is so fresh and authentic. I am only giving 4 stars for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I like to be strict with my scores so try and not dish out 5s all the time. The only obvious fault that I can give is for the collection of the donuts. I placed my order and paid for my donuts over the phone to be at the neighbouring shop because I didnāt think I would get there in time before the shop closed. I was very appreciative that they were going to offer this service to me. However, I was able to get to the shop earlier than anticipated and the shop was still open when I arrived. It took them awhile to find my order but when they did it wasnāt prepared. So they had to quickly put a box together for me. Thankfully, I arrived early or else I likely wouldnāt have got my donuts from the shop next door. I purposely asked for 1 of each donut (9 in total) and they said that the only missing one was the original sugar donut. I was fine with that but when I opened the box, and as you can see from the pic, there was a few duplicates which shows that I never got all 9. I know, itās not the end of the world, and I may be being picky, but itās the small details that make a difference. Overall, the slight negative didnāt drastically hinder my experience (just minus a starš). Will 100% be back.
P.S. There are so many treats to choose from so if you are indecisive like me then you may be there awhile. Thankfully they are cheap enough so you can buy a few.
Sicilian Pastry is just wow if youāre ever in Edinburgh itās a must as I travel from the Midlands. Iāve always visited Sicilian Pastry Shop when ever I visit Edinburgh. The variety is just amazing spoiled for choice.
These macarons are done right. They are almost unbelievably delicious with flavors that linger. Customer service is first class - very personal and very nice. I would name favorite flavors, but the macarons are all so very good. these days quality small businesses should be nurtured a real gem.
These cannoli taste just like the best ones Iāve gotten at Italian bakeries! They have the perfect combination of flavors and textures.
The cannoli shells are perfectly tender and flaky, like a flake away in your mouth kind of texture.
I ate the pastries for my birthday. It was so yummy and I became happy!!
Very nice and fresh! I love cake here because its not too sweet.
for me, i do love fruity cake most! Birthday cake here is the best!!!
Sending an endless gratitude to the owner and the employees. Tried multiple menus including both sweet and savoury pastries and everything turned out to be just perfect. The ridiculously mouthwatering arancinis are the must. Get them if you find them.
