A decent burger joint!
Fast service and good prices, we had the cheese bacon burger and buffalo and BBQ wings with cheese fries.
An enjoyable experience.
I like coming here for a quick bite. Staff is always friendly and quick. I usually order a single cheeseburger. I had a double one before but there was too much meat and I couldn't taste the bun. But a lot of people like it that way:) Their chips are amazing and I would definitely recommend ordering them. I've tried the chocolate milkshake as well which was great and tasted like made from an ice cream. Will be going again!
I visited Burger again tonight as I wanted to take my little Brother & my partner. They loved it! It was just as good as last night & was so delicious. The flavours are amazing & the chips are outstanding. I think that Burger doesn't get the amount of credit that it deserves! Go to Burger! You won't regret it ?
Visited Burger with a group of friends before Christmas to try out some of their Christmas burgers and catch up; I've tried many a burger so the bar was set pretty high!
I went for the Biblical Beef burger which was delicious, bacon and honey roasted parsnips were a hit and I'm gutted it was a seasonal special! Add in some perfectly crispy fries and a glass of mulled wine, the perfect festive dinner! The buzzer system for knowing when your food is ready was really neat too.
I'll definitely be visiting Burger again soon and hopefully giving the Chicken Katsu burger a try next!!
I've eaten here a few times now, and it's more or less what it says on the tin! It's laid back and unpretentious, with a chilled out, laid back vibe. It's a teensy step up from fast food... You order at the bar, collect your order from the bar, and clear your tray when you're done. The bright lights and Formica tables give it a fast-food-joint feel, which isn't a bad thing considering the quality of the food.
The burgers are a good size and leave you comfortably full afterwards. I tried one of their festive offerings last night, and ate their Yule Dog. Yum! It was a hot dog with lashings of festive trimmings, including cranberry and chestnut sauce, goats cheese and rocket. The sausage itself was standard (a typical frankfurter, and not very meaty) but the trimmings were delicious. The chips are also a high point. They're like thin potato wedges as they still have skin on. Nice and crunchy.
Selling alcohol is a nice touch. The mulled wine went down very well :)

Having only recently discovered this and loads of my friends telling me to go, I finally got round to visiting myself. After just dropping in and ordering food, we received the food very quickly and it was fantastic. The burger was gigantic, the sides were delicious and milkshakes were to die for.
This is the perfect place for either lunch or dinner and the rise of burger restaurants in Edinburgh can only mean better and bigger burgers coming your way!
Have only had a takeaway cheese and bacon burger but it was probably the best I've ever had. Enough said really! Oh, and they serve prosecco...
They make their burger patties in house and I loved the sweet onions embedded into the burger (although non-oniony people may object) which made the patties extremely moist and delicious. I had the Juicy Bleucy with Stilton in between the two burger patties - it was incredibly delicious and I was so impressed with the burger but at the same time could have done with a tad more cheese.
I also loved the hand-cut fries with their uneven shapes, skin on and salty goodness. The relish was also tasty! I think these have been some of my favorite fries in Edinburgh!
After dinner, we were offered a sample of Tea for Two which is Burger's special dessert of earl grey ice cream with tea cakes. I wasn't blown away by the earl grey ice cream perhaps because I just don't fancy that flavor, but what I did fancy was one of their shakes! These aren't the British poor excuse for a shake that you usually find - these were proper ice cream shakes, with the ice cream made in house to boot!
I was well impressed with Burger the first time I went (five star experience) but the second time I went the burgers weren't quite as flavourful and the chips weren't as crispy and good. I was a bit disappointed the second time round, but I'll have to make another visit soon to see if the third time's the charm.
Burger has that classic air of confidence about it that makes it seem more attractive than it actually is. Its sleek and modern and gives the impression that it's a chain waiting to happen! The burgers were extremely good value for money and the burger sauce was very tasty - the chips were very good too, they almost tasted like thin potato wedges.
If you're looking for a good place to go for a chilled out meal with a few friends then this hits the spot.
They sell burgers (and hot dogs).. you go to the counter, you order, you pay, when your buzzer goes off, you go and collect your tray of goodies.. it's as simple as that.. Unpretentious and unassuming, this place does not pretend to be anything it's not.
The brioche buns and flavour combos are spot on. I often struggle to eat burger buns, but I devoured every morsel! Chicken katsu burger served with wasabi mayo was an absolute delight. Panko crumbs were crunchy, the chicken was succulent and juicy with the richness offset by the tartness of a gherkin.
Earl grey custard ice cream is to die for, maple walnut ice cream borderlining too sweet for this lady but perfect for any sweet-tooth. Chilli candied walnuts on top needed a bit more heat to make them fun.
Service at the counter was super friendly and she offered a taster of the earl grey custard ice cream without hesitation.
Fries could do with a bit of tweaking to get full marks, other than that, could not fault the experience.
Price point is fabulous for the quality you're getting. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back again soon!
Quick and no fuss burger joint. Sit down at a table, check the menu, get up and order at the till with your table number and they bring your food out. I had the Katsu Chicken burger and fries. The chicken was fried in batter with a wasabi mayo, it had 2 bits of chicken in it so it was a fork and knife job. Chicken was lovelya dn the fries were crisp. Can't complain really for a tenner.
I stopped at Burger for a late lunch after a Sunday stroll around Edinburgh. It's a very laid back and informal establishment with some delightful and welcoming staff. The music being played was at an entirely tolerable volume neither causing distractions or inhibiting communication. Service was swift and uncomplicated, the waitress being both efficient and incredibly pleasant. Of course the food is the most important thing.
The fries were crisp, flavourful, skin-on delights. That was something of an unexpected delight. They were well seasoned excelling in a rich, earthy flavour and not a seashore salt pan. I also indulged in a chocolate shake was one of my favourite for a while with quite a deep, cocoa flavour and less of the "just melted ice-cream" sensation. This sweet treat was a great complement to the fries.
The burger, of course, is the main event of a place called Burger. When I visit any burger joint for the first time I always choose their simplest burger. My reason for this is that it's easy to confuse people with a multitude of complex flavours using all sorts of additions, however a simple burger is difficult to get right. Burger's meat was evidently good quality although a little over done for my taste. As with the fries the burger seemed well seasoned. My one complaint would be that there is a little too much of a sauce reliance. With quite a powerful sauce above and below the burger the flavour of the meat was a little overwhelmed.
All in all I would recommend a visit to Burger. It's not Mcdonalds though so don't expect a particularly cheap meal but it is less expensive than some of the other similar options in Edinburgh. This is simply a great, casual and unpretentious treat. For me it was a pretty good prelude to an evening of NFL.
Absolutely love this restaurant. Visited the old premises a couple times and this new one seems even more spacious and it looks great. We both got bacon cheese burgers with onion rings and chilli cheese fries as sides. Food is fresh and delicious, not too greasy too.
Had the frozen cider slushie and it was amazing! Definitely ideal for the summer weather. This is a bit more expensive than most burger places but it's totally worth it. Great food and great service.
Best burger I have tasted in some considerable time. The burgers are moist and juicy, cooked perfectly, the fries are fresh and tasty, and the milk shakes thick and lush.
I would highly recommend Burger for a quick but high-quality meal.
I've enjoyed my trips to Burger so far. The food is more than decent and it comes quickly with a smile. I've never been a particular fan of paying for my food before I've received it but at Burger I'm less concerned, because I know what's coming out will be quality. Despite the all-encompassing name, though, I have to say they're not the best burgers in Edinburgh in my opinion. A welcome addition to the scene, however. Can't beat a bit of competition.
Burger is as you would expect a burger joint offering high quality fast food. The interior is well decorated and sophisticated and looks very clean. There are a good selection of burgers with different meats and toppings to choose from, there are also weekly specials and a selection of milkshakes. The chips are great, skin on and handmade looking. The burgers we had did have a bit if grease on the wrapping however I had a burger topped with pulled pork and sauces so it's hardly surprising! Not somewhere to go if your on a diet but a delicious indulgence that I will be returning to.

We popped in soon after Burger opened and first impressions were positive: good location, cool, industrial-themed décor and a straightforward menu with quality fresh and local produce. I can't comment on the meaty options but I'd recommend the delicious veggie burger - imaginative flavours & lovely and moist. Tasty milkshakes too, but the chips were variable in quality we found.
Of all the burger joints that have popped up in Edinburgh recently, Burger is my favourite. The menu is relatively small but the specials are fantastic with something different on offer every week. The burgers and fries are tasty and reasonably priced, and I can't get enough of their milkshakes - especially the boozy specials like Raspberry Daiquiri or Bellini!
I had the vegan burger and it was spicy but I actually enjoyed it. The place was empty when we arrived (1pm) so we got our orders very quickly.
The restaurant facilities and toilet are very clean and the service is friendly however you dont get table service (a bit odd considering the burger prices are average)
Burger is a great place to head to if you are after some super tasty, super quick food. They have a great range of burgers whether you are a meat eater or veggie and with specials changing regularly there is always something different to choose from. Straying away from the burgers I would say have the chilli cheese and chips and a vanilla milkshake the fact that they do delivery meant that this combination saved me from a rather large hangover, the milkshake was the best!
Food was very nice; the burger looked lovely and juicy and the macaroni cheese was delicious. Loos were perfectly acceptable I thought. The waitress was very nice. However, they lose a star for only offering halal chicken (which is about half the menu). I don't want to each chickens that have been cruelly killed because of a few peoples religious dogma.
I tried Burger. for the first time last night and was impressed! The staff were friendly and accommodating, the decor is clean and simple but, really, it's the food we're interested in here. In comparison to Glasgow, Edinburgh lacks trendy independent burger places with a take-out option and I would say Burger. is a good start for the capital. The beef patty itself is fairly standard but it is the huge variety of toppings that really makes this place. I just had a bacon and cheese burger, it was constructed well so easy to eat, the bun was delicious, the bacon was crispy and it was a good size (you could eat it with one hand without everything fall out!). I will definitely be going back to try some of their quite inventive specials and the hot dogs!
I decided to go back. I like to give things a second try and considering I was there during opening week, there might have been teething issues.
And it was a massive improvement. Tried a burger off the specials board and it was delicious. Dripping with juice and full of flavour.
There's still no pinkness in the middle of the burgers through. I've been told it's due to health & safety, but I've had LOADS of burgers that have either been cooked like that or given me the option. It's something I'll get over.
It's still really good food served in an awesome environment. Go try it.

Original review (Early March)
Edinburgh has been needing a good burger place for a long time. A place that just focuses on burgers. BURGER is probably not it.
Don't get me wrong... the burgers are alright, the place is really awesome looking (they've clearly spent a lot of money on it) & the menu is specialised but it lacked something. I have no idea what it was but I have a hunch that it was the meat itself; it was a tad bland on flavour.
The chips, on the other-hand, were pretty nice although I suspect they may have been pre-salted (?).
I also expected it to be rammed on a Saturday evening (went in around 6pm) but it was fairly easy to grab a table and we were presented with a flashing device (Frankie & Benny's style) that flashed when your grub was ready.
If this place was just to improve on its burgers (maybe be a tad adventurous), I could happily see it as being my fave places to go.

I've been really impressed with Burger since it first opened. The menu is great for vegetarians and they have really unique weekly specials such as a hot dog, wrapped in a tortilla, deep fried and covered in guacamole. The shakes are really good too and the fries with wasabi mayo are delicious. You order at the counter and get a little buzzer to tell you when your food is ready, similar to Wannaburger. The staff are super friendly and the place is nice and casual, so you can go for a late night snack or a shake without feeling pressured to buy more.
Up market, good quality fast food! Really loved the style of the place and all the staff are really friendly and helpful. Its not table service which makes the whole place feel really chilled.
You would think that burger places would run out of cool specials but no, we both had Katsue burgers and there were many more that sound amazing that we want to go back for.
BUT the best of all were the fries...so tasty!
