This is the only place we go to eat good Indian food it is necessary to reserve as the place is usually full . Never being disappointed and we have being there many many times , highly recommended.
First thumbs up for being a restaurant owned by my nana😃
Me and 2 family members ended up at In Touch after a long day of wandering around Edinburgh. It seemed very appropriate as I was able to see my family members who run this restaurant. We were lead to a table by my nana. We told him to bring us their most popular dishes as they had a lot of options on their menu. Whilst the food was being cooked up, I had a wee look at the restaurant itself. It was my first time here and the place was pretty busy. We went in at about 7. There is a bar and plenty of tables along with wifi.
I really liked how the waiters interacted with the customers at the tables. They were all really friendly and managed to maintain a good conversation, some of the customers even knew the names of the waiters! Friendly staff is a must as it makes me feel more welcome at a restaurant.
The food came within 10-15 minutes and every dish was so delicious!
Overall a great restaurant to come to try the food! The 27 goes directly from town. The number 8 or 7 bus also stops near In Touch.
Lovely food but was dissapointed with the service we received on sat night. As the restaurant was busy they rushed us to get out the door so the next couple get our table. As my mum said "where's your hat? Where's your hurry!"
Good food, nice atmosphere. In Touch is a cosy restaraunt serving reaonably priced Indian food, as (dine in, take away or delivery), near the foot of Inverlieth Row. The place itself is bright and clean, and the staff are very attentive to your needs. The food it well flavoured and fresh, though I must admit I have had a few dishes that could have been a bit warmer. Overall a pleasant experience in a fresh environment, though I will have to try it a few more times to see if it becomes a favourite.
Edinburgh Little Black Book
+4.5
I've been told that I'm very harsh with my markings for reviews. I have to say it's not something I'm about to change, but this little restaurant really does deserve high praise, particularly as far as value for money goes!
My friend and I booked for a cold Saturday evening at the end of January and were surprised at how busy the restaurant was - we soon discovered why.
We opted to share an assortment of side dishes rather than order a starter and main course so managed to taste a reasonable selection of the food on offer considering there were only two of us.
The tandoori king prawn mossala was rich and creamy (although the prawns were slightly over-cooked), the naan bread was soft and doughy with a slight crispness round the edges rather than the usual soggy, limp offering. The light crispness of the onion bhajis added texture without being oily and the tarka dahl was just the right side of al dente.
The atmosphere was warm and cosy, which was particularly welcome on such a chilly evening, and the waiting staff were attentive.
The overall cost of the meal for two was £30.00 and there was no charge for wine because my friend took a bottle with her and they don't charge for corkage.
So overall, if I'm being my normal harsh self the only criticisms I can find are dated, but not unclean, decor (which to be honest really didn't matter when the atmosphere was so friendly), slightly over cooked prawns and, very unusually, a charge for the pickles tray - I've been to much more expensive restaurants that didn't come anywhere near the evening I had at In Touch - I will be going back here regularly!
I had a nice meal at In Touch last night, celebrating a friend's 60th birthday. I tried mushroom rice, chicken Tikka Massalam, and Keema Naan bread. My friends had various other dishes and there were no complaints. The staff were really nice, I'll be honest and say that I was a bit concerned when I arrived as it was empty, but it was midweek at 6:45 and within 15-20 minutes it started to fill up. Overall, the food was super tasty, the service was good and I'm sure we will go back at some point to try some more. Thanks.
Fantastic restaurant! Great food, attentive staff & reasonably priced. Definitely worth travelling for. Would definitely recommend & return.
Warm welcome, friendly service, very varied menu, delicious food. A bit off the beaten track, but don't let that stop you making a visit. You will find parking 1 or 2 minutes away, make sure you pop into an off-licence if you want alcohol (no corkage fee, by the way), and get stuck in. We arrived early, but it's clearly popular because it soon filled up and created a great atmosphere.
I had delicious sag aloo, vegetable fried rice and garlic naan. The staff was very courteous. I will be going there again!
Only customers on a cold Monday night. Apparently the place to eat on a weekend.
Very obliging staff and tasty food, Bangladeshi cuisine always makes me happy.
If it looks really quiet, don't be discouraged.
Ordered tonight, one of the best curry’s I’ve had which considering I originate from Bradford is a good complement. Bit pricey, the price of chapttis is too high, but it was a nice treat. Had chefs special Murghi keema massalam, and chicken pakora, very nice! Would highly recommend! 5*
Excellent food, really tasty well worth another visit in the near future, staff are very friendly and nice atmosphere here👌
Loved my over all experience with In Touch. Fantastic customer experience and could tell they were genuinely lovely, hard working people. Even got a free drink on the house and the food was authentic and delicious. Will definitely be back!
Very nice restaurant, dinner tasted very good 4 stars. Unfortunately, it was very very cold in the restaurant 1 star. They had just a little electric heater that was way too little to get a little bit of temperature inside.
This was my 3rd recent meal at InTouch, having previously only enjoyed takeaways. The food is extremely authentic, enjoyable and served at a good temperature on warmed plates. Service is very good, prices reasonable and the bonus of BYOB with no corcage. I'll be going back.
Went in for a take away and it was a delightful experience - highly recommend! Freshly made, ordered a drink while we wanted and received free nibbles. Food freshly made to order and it was delicious! 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My local Indian, excellent service with a smile and good banter. Great classic Indian food, and also a page full of intriguing specials. Full licence and also byob. Good music, clean and not crowded tables, and does takeaway. My only small gripe would be the deserts should also be brave and Indian! I get that most people wouldn't like it, but they should try one or two!
My partner & I went in to order take away, staff very friendly, food was absolutely delicious, Nice relaxed atmosphere within restaurant.
Lovely food and amazing service. Can't be easy for small local restaurants just now but these guys went above and beyond. Putting up with the rude guy and the drunk guy too and still smiling. Thanks for a great night.
