Have to say, I am shocked by the previous reviews on here, we visited this cafe for breakfast and it was lovely, as was the Italian lady that served us. I feel I should point out that there is a sign on the door saying that tables are only available if food is purchased, and I can understand why, there is not a great deal of seating available, so it makes sense not to fill it up with people who are only buying a drink. Please give it a try and don't be put off by the negative reviews.

Super service, friendly and funny owner/chefs. The egg and bacon sandwich on a big roll was so tasty, we had to come back for another one the next day. The prices are amazing and so is the coffee ☕️ Mood inside is cheerful, and there are plenty of veggie/healthier food options as well as savory and classic-style options. Wish I could have tried the homemade chocolate cake, it looked absolutely killer. Wonderful lil’ breakfast spot, we’ll 100% come back!!!

A very small shop, with an equally small staff - in fact, service was surprisingly quick considering. My partner's focaccia sandwich was delicious - great rosemary flavor baked in. My spicy salami sandwich was lighter than expected - but that is on me not knowing 100g. The hot chocolate was the best I've had during this cold damp trip!

Very cute cafe with excellent, attentive service. I had a gluten free roasted vegetable and goat cheese panini. I should have taken a "before" but you can see the aftermath! They have a decent selection of gluten free and vegan dishes including desserts. The prices are very reasonable as well. Definitely worth a stop if you're on Grassmarket.

Excellent, down to earth, staff/owners. Excellent food and they went the further mile to accomodate me as a vegan, offered to make me a thick creamy hot chocolate which was delicious. Had a full english vegan breakfast and a vegan carrot cake for afters. All absolutely gorgeous and not overpriced like most bougie vegan places. Was there about half past two Thursday gone.

We stumbled upon this place on our way through Edinburgh and it was wonderful. The food was delicious and affordable, and the coffee was amazing. Most importantly the owner and staff were hilarious and so kind to us. If we had more time in this city we definitely would have returned.

This cafe is a cozy and personal Italian/British cafe with delicious food and even better service. It's small but if you get a seat there you know the lovely barista will whip up a lovely hot thick(!) hot chocolate or cappuccino. The sandwiches looked delicious, and the breakfast was awesome, filling and they are helpful to any allergies or modifications. I recommend this to anyone travelling to Edinburgh and are planning to hang about Grassmarket area!

Had such an amazing meal here and the owner was so lovely, we were talking about the bread for the rest of the day so ended up going back for our last meal in Edinburgh. Owner remembered us and told us about her trip to the alps to see her nieces coming up- we hope she’s having an amazing time! Such great food and sweet people.
