Went for a lazy weekend brunch at Printworks Coffee, very laid back place with easy going staff, good scrambled eggs and deliciously rich coffee. Well worth a visit.

A nice spot not far from the Shore that's passionate about their coffee and food. They favour locally produced baked items and ingredients with the exception of London based coffee roaster Monmouth which is available to drink or take home by way of beans for your home grinder. Thumbs up
Visited Printworks cafe today whilst working in Leith on a fashion photoshoot - had an amazing chicken lime and mozzarella melt - I sat in with my friends it was really nice ,friendly staff and tasty food - quick service all in all fab experience xxx
It’s getting hard to keep up with all of the places that stock Union of Genius soups, these days, as it’s now in to double figures. Printworks has been stocking their fine soupy wares for some time, as part of their magnificent little ecosystem of local providers. Today was the first occasion when I’d had the chance to visit.
The interior is simple, bright and heavy on light wood, with a good blend of comfy seats, tables and chairs, and window shelf stools. The counter holds an array of tasty delights, with some great looking sandwiches, and tempting cakes from I Love Pure Cakes.
I was very late to lunch, today, so decided to opt for a sandwich and coffee, rather than anything more substantial. I chose their chorizo and chicken melt, and opted for espresso, as is my usual habit.
I took a seat at the window, and within a matter of moments, the friendly and accommodating counter man was delivering me my toasted sandwich, while the counter girl had already popped over with my espresso.
The coffee, with beans from Monmouth Coffee, was really good. This was a dark and complex brew. I enjoyed it, muchly.
The sandwich was one of the finest hot sandwiches I’ve had, of late. The chorizo and chicken were brought together with japapeno, cheese and mayo to form joyous mouthfuls. The lightly toasted bread provided just the right amount of crisp crunch, too.
So overall, I thought Printworks was a really impressive place, packed with quality and charm. They’ve built a great network of suppliers, ensuring that quality remains high, at all times. I’d recommend that you visit, next time you’re looking for great soup, a tremendous sandwich, tempting cakes, high-quality coffee or all of the above.

Situated at constitution street, this cafe offers the range of foods and desserts.
My friend tried smoke salmon with scramble eggs. The wow factor is eggs which look very fluffy and I think many tables order eggs dishes topped up with other protein as well. Recommended to try definitely
I tried lemon meringue cheesecake I believe,
The cake is alright but the cheesecake flavour seem a little disharmonious.
The staff are wonderful and patient and the atmosphere is like warm and homey.
Great coffee, friendly efficient service and the best scrambled egg roll I have had. The bread roll was beautifully baked and the egg cooked to perfection.
The best place in Leith, coming here for coffee on a daily basis. It's hands down the best, most delicious coffee in the area. Food is tasty, cakes are always tempting.. Staff members are always friendly, welcoming. Highly recommending!
Always good food and service! The paninis are really good and it’s a good stop to grab a coffee before getting the tram.
There is almost equal space inside as there is out on the wide pavement. Popular spot, especially on sunny days. A nice atmosphere is created with the neighbouring cafes. We lounged for 2 hours continually ordering tea’s, sandwiches, soup then cakes. Bread is delicious, plentiful fillings, big slices & will adapt where they can. A few unusual tea flavours such as lavender & roiboos.
It’s appreciated that the cakes are covered & not put in the open. Flavoured cheesecakes have a twist on the traditional with flavours.
Petite Polish waitress (didn’t catch her name) was attentive & chatted with us without being over bearing.
The trams do pass & make their ding but this is lost in the gentle chatter of folks enjoying their food.
Their new cafe in Portobello is just as good & opens later.
Always a treat here - lots of lovely cakes & cheesecakes to choose from, as well as a great selection of cooked foods & salads.
You can sit at one of the many big tables inside, or if the weather's good you can sit outside and watch the trams go by, as there's a stop right outside - very handy for getting there if you don't live nearby, or if you're meeting there for coffee before getting the tram into town or beyond.
The staff are attentive & helpful too, which makes any visit pleasant. As an added benefit, get your coffee card stamped & earn points to get yourself a free coffee - all the more reason to visit often!
Good coffee, great service. There is a warm and friendly atmosphere inside. Highly recommended.
Very nice coffee and friendly staffs. Great spot for sitting outside for people watching in a sunny day . The cakes looks really nice and yummy , have to give them a try next time !
Great little cafe, conveniently located right next to the tram stop. Lovely cakes and coffee, with gluten free options for my wife. I want to go back!
Visited this a few days ago. Always looks busy when passing on a tram. Great panini and coffee. Fast, efficient service and nice atmosphere. Very clean too.
A glorious local cafe owned and staffed by the loveliest people. Can highly recommend bacon rolls and flat white coffee 😁👍in the morning.
Perfect for a quick brunch/ lunch or a coffee to take away. Slightly behind in terms of food compared to other cafes on Constitution St, but better coffee and quicker service.
First time visiting here with my mate coming from Fife. Had a lovely Chai Latte and my mate drank a White Flat, he loved it. Friendly staff and quick service.
The staff is exceptional and they serve one of the best coffees in Leith. 100% recommend
Cute and friendly independent café. Good breakfast and lunch options, and lots of generously portioned cakes!
Entered, left with a food coma. Ordered the bruch sausage special, absolutely full of flavour and the most fluffy, creamy scrambled eggs I have ever had!
The cheesecake was not overly flavoured, you could still taste the cheesecake (of that make sense) which made it just right for me.
Lovely service from all staff and they asked every custome rhow their day had been going. Will visit again soon 🙂
Lovely and very reasonably priced food. French toast and Paninis using locally sourced bakery breads. Cheesecake selection excellent and large portion. Lovely coffee too.
