Had a great time at bar soba at the weekend, the service was excellent. The manager took time with us, good banter, excellent food and of course great drinks! Will certainly be back! Korean popcorn chicken was so good!
Bar Soba is a cool bar on Hanover street with an even cooler cocktail list. I’ve visited here a few times, both for food and just for drinks. We had a Living Social voucher which gave us a starter, main course and glass of wine each. We were given a special menu especially for this deal. The wine was the standard house wine which you expect worth a voucher, it wasn’t to my taste but when using a voucher you don’t expect a glass of their highest quality wine!
Bar Soba does South East Asian fast food in the hart of New Town. I've eaten here several times and it is particularly handy when you are looking for somewhere to go out with a larger group. They also take the Tastecard now which means meals that were already reasonably priced (and very generous in portion size) are even more affordable. I like their large rum cocktails and the chilli martinis and am also partial to their nasi gorengs. They do a good ramen too. Whilst the food isn't anything to write home about - it is hearty, generous and tasty enough. As it is quite busy most evenings, service has always been a tad bit slow. Otherwise, a pleasant place for a meal or even just drinks.
Came here on Friday night. I really like the atmosphere in here, it's very chilled. We got the sharing platers which were really yummy. I just wish there had been more. Will definitely be going back.Jen Brownlie
I like this bar in the city center! The look of it it's beautiful in my opinion, they have a good selection of drinks and beers as well. Food is good but I had better Asian food. Nice place for a quick dinner and drinks!
Me and my friend met at Bar Soba last night for dinner and a couple of drinks. We had both been before so we knew that we liked the food.
When I had been previously we sat at one of the small tables but this time we were at one of the big tables in front of the bar. I definitely preferred the smaller tables for eating as the bigger tables are not as comfortable, but they would be fine for just drinks.
I order the teriyaki beef noodles and Tanja had the Katsu Curry, we also shared some edamame. The teriyaki beef noodles were delicious; I hate everything and the beef was cooked perfectly for me. I wasn't such a fan of the edamame as I didn't enjoy the seasoning.
It was really busy when we were in last night but that helped add to the atmosphere, and even though it was busy we didn't have to wait ages for our food.
Bar Soba is a nice place to go for drinks and dinner after work or before a night out, as it is not fancy but the food is good, with prices to match. We were £20 each for 2 (alcoholic) drinks and our meals.
Loved the place and the food. Excellent customer service too!
Tasty food at a great Restaraunt where there is a very good ambience along with good music.
Makes the Grade. From the outside it does not look promising. However, once inside it is special. A truly funky interior and a choice of seating makes it ideal for any number of patrons. There is plenty of space and it has a great atmosphere. The menu is large and varied and there are various offers. I had the 2 course lunch at £9:95 and both dishes were generous and tasty. Their cocktail list is also worth a look and I look forward to trying these on my next visit !! recommended.
Fresh and zingy noodle dishes made with care. Great decor with a graphic feel. Staff seemed to know their stuff too.
I could happy just share all the starters with friends as a meal.
Great bar for cocktails and finger food !!!! perfect as an after work venue !!
The Drumstick cocktail is so tasty and you get a lolly to save for the journey home :)
Good service and friendly staff xxx
I've been to Bar Soba couple times in the past considering the great location on Hanover Street. It's great for both food and drinks. They make one of the best mojitos I've had and during the week it's for a bargain price of £3. Their staff is always friendly and helpful. The place is buzzing most evenings and when I've been on Friday they also had a DJ upstairs which made the place even better. I tried their Tiger prawn & cashew nut chilli noodles last time and was impressed by the rich taste. You also get an extra chilli, lime sauce, sugar and nuts so you can make the dish to your taste even more. Overall a great place to go out for pre drinks and food before a night out in New Town.
It was delicious. We tried the boozy brunch menu and the food is super nice, the cocktails as well (really recommend the Pong Star Fizz and the Zombie punch). The service was a 10/10, super nice staff!
I called in on an evening during the week, spoke to a member of the team behind the bar and they directed me to a table and explained how the ordering process worked.
The QR code system worked well, and my drink arrived to my table quickly.
There was a bit of a delay on my food arriving to the table, but when I spoke to one of the staff to ask about it, the food arrived while I was talking to her, and she was very genuinely apologetic for the wait (sorry for not catching her name!).
Once the food arrived, it was thoroughly delicious, and I'll be back again in the future for sure.
Foods were great and tasty. Food came in hot and quick. Service also great, prompt help and order.
Place is busy and packed, a lil bit too loud for me.
Food is amazing, great value for money. Been a few times for food and I cannot fault it at all. Such a large variety to choose from and staff are all very friendly.
Excellent food and stylish design. I only had a "Nojito" but it tasted better than nearly any real Mojito I ever had.
I found Soba bar to be a hidden gem. If you want simple yet really tasty asain food then this is the place. Although it's not cheap I think the quality of the food , the freshly prepared cocktails and the friendly chilled out atmosphere make it worth the price. I'm a fuss pot when it comes to thai curries and this place nailed it! The staff were so kind and friendly with us , we will definitely be back.
We used Bar Soba for our 2022 christmas night out for & Other Stories. It was an amazing night, the staff were so attentive, a specialised buffet selection accommodating all allergens and requirements. I met multiple times with GM Max before the event to make all the arrangements, and it’s fair to say the team and himself went above and beyond to create the most amazing night for the team and myself. If you’re looking for a memorable team night out, Bar Soba Hanover Street is the place be without a doubt!!
Students get 50% on certain days of the week! The staff were lovely to our group and the food was really nice. Thought the drinks looked pleasing but could be improved, wouldn’t go just for the cocktails.
We had an incredible meal with the veggie and meat eaters catered for. Highly recommend the Dirty Katsu Fries. Lovely staff, lovely atmosphere and not too expensive. Food was delicious. Will definitely go again!
Hoebe made the whole experience so lovely, she's such a great person to chat to! The food was absolutely delicious as well, piping hot and came out very quickly, 10/10!
Food is very tasty, although the main dish was a very small portion. I am glad that we have asked for a starter as well.
The lunch menu is reasonably priced, although a small dish and a soft drink won’t be enough for surviving the afternoon. So I am not convinced that it is a good deal...
Staff is very friendly, the place has a good vibe.
Delicious food with lots of vegan options. My favourite is the Super Thai Fries, smothered with peanut butter and sriracha sauce. Yum!
Had brunch here with a group of friends and a family for my hen night. The team were great and pulled out all the stops. The food was lovely!
