Went to Ryan's Bar for morning breakfast and ordered for the veg meals in the brunch options.
.
The staff is quite humble and polite and the food was very well presented and extremely appealing to the eyes. It's really did taste great!
.
Decor of this place is really good. When we said that the coffee served was cold, they happily served a new one totally on the house!
.
Really loved visiting this restaurant.
Visited here for a casual dinner of an evening, two of us including a 4 year old. Fantastic service by Analisa. I had the chilli which was so delicious. My partner had the gammon which was by far the nicest gammon steak we both had ever tasted! Would definitely come back here and would recommend to anyone.
I tried their Legend Burger with Guiness beer
The guiness beer is one of the best beers i have drank. The ambience is quite loud inside and outside is calmer. Great place to hang out with friends when you are visiting Edinburgh
What a fun bar!
We stopped by this bar during bar hopping and it was packed. Although we did not stop to eat, we did manage to get a few rounds of drinks here since this place had quite an upbeat vibe and good music.
The servers were friendly and helpful. The bar also has a separate seating area which is right beside the windows making it ideal for dining as well.
Will definitely recommend for a visit for pint or two.
We went to Ryans Bar to celebrate Rabbie Burns Birthday and eat the traditional Haggis, Neeps and Tatties. As we couldnt make it on a Monday night we attended on a Saturday night which is no doubt when Ryans Bar are at their busiest; and I have to say their service was brilliant. Their staff are very friendly, very accommodation and efficient.
We had their plates of haggis, neeps and tatties and a wee dram of whisky which was £10pp. Great value as the portions were huge and the whisky's were either Ardbeg or Glenmorangie. The haggis was delcious, slightly spicey; the potatoes light and fluffy and the neeps smooth and sweet. A perfect plate of Burns happiness. My dining fellow, had never eaten haggis before but managed to clear the plate and would of happily taken seconds home.
We also had 2 of the 3 Burns Cocktails that were on offer - we had the Tablet White Russian and the Ginger and Rhubard Martini. Both were lovely but the white russian was my favourite only because I do have a sweet tooth.
With very full bellies and I smile on our faces we left Ryans. It is a great spot for drinks, cocktails and big enough to accommodate groups of friends meeting up. Great for pre and post rugby matches at Murrayfield.

My fiancé and I were looking for a place to have breakfast and we spotted this place on the other side of the road. It was a chilly morning and there was an indoor seating area right in the sun so we decided to sit there and warm up a bit. The locarion was really nice and clean, service was fast. I had the vegetarian Scottish breakfast, which was delicious, absolutely perfect. I had the best scrambled eggs and veggie sausages. The coffee was really good too, not too bitter, not too sweet. Worth going to if you're in the area :)
The jewel in the crown of the West End, at least location wise, is Ryan's Bar. A grand looking bar with an extensive outside seating area.
Inside, the bar is a traditional looking haunt, albeit with interesting decor on the ceiling which is the most intriguing part of the bar, as the rest is generally just darkly varnished wood. The selection of drinks is vast, with the long bar hosting a wide array of lager, ales and craft beer, as well as cider.
The bar also makes cocktails, but it is not a proper cocktail bar, so the standard is generally poor. Deals often run throughout the year, with the most recent pairing up the traditional Brazilian cocktail, the Caipirinha, with a burger designed specifically for the duration of the World Cup. The food itself is standard for the most part, but specials are also offered, with Venison and other dishes offered which are a cut above standard offered on the Specials Board make the bar a lot higher in most people's estimations.
Ryan's loses marks for the weird layout of the bar, with the serving area being generally high, making it harder to order drinks and then your pint has to be passed over the beer fonts. The lines are kept well in order and the taste of the beer is very crisp and clear.
Decent bar at the end of Princes Street, the main drag in Edinburgh. A tasteful modern feel on the inside with some really good pictures on the walls and also good frescoes on the domed parts of their ceiling. It also boasts what I can only describe as a conservatory? And a lot of outdoor seating with a good view of the castle. It also has a covered smoking area.
Spontaneously visited for breakfast whilst on a night away in Edinburgh. Passed this place on the night time and was drawn in by the indoor seating that curved round and was all glass, and the Christmas lights! Breakfast menu was perfect (see attached) and the customer service was spot on. I ordered eggs Benedict and he ordered a full Scottish! Both food and drinks were amazing could not fault and we hope to return on our next visit to Edinburgh. Would recommend. Fairly priced too! Great experience overall
Great place, nice and central. Good view of the castle. Food is really nice, and reasonable prices. Good variety of alcoholic drinks. Staff could smile a little more, one staff in particular was a little grumpy.
Outdoor tables to sit at, on a nice day.
Ryan's Bar Has Everything A Warm Freindly Atmosphere And The Beer And Food Are Out Of This World. Service Is Fast And The Whole Place Is Clean. I Personally Will Be Back Here.
We visited here for lunch and then breakfast the following day. Really nice setting and the food was fantastic!
Nice, central place to have breakfast. I can only rate the porridge bowl with banana and salted caramel because I totally fell in love with it and ate nothing else. But if the other meals are only half as good, I can still recommend a visit here!
As it was our first spot while we started exploring beautiful Edinburgh after leaving our luggage at the hotel.
There was nothing better than sipping coffee and trying their breakfast menu.
We tried:
- Cappuccino
- Irish Coffee
- Delicious Banana Bread ❣️👍
It was breakfast time as we had morning flight to Edinburgh. The restaurant was super busy.
Anyone thinking to visit Edinburgh have it in your list to visit.

Amazing Food, very well priced. Very friendly staff. We came here everyday for a meal during our stay in Edinburgh. We especially loved the Breakfast options and the Goats Cheese Tart from the lunch menu.
Great atmosphere with great wait staff. I stopped in for breakfast before heading into work. I got the Full Scottish Breakfast and was not disappointed. Highly recommend that you add Ryan's to your to do list.
Excellent service, great food and well-priced! Many gluten free options and a beautiful view. Such a cosy place and our breakfast was delicious!
Loved this cafe. The breakfast was amazing felt we were on holiday especially because it was a rare sunny day. The service was good friendly and helpful staff.
Delicious food, especially the tomato soup and the starter with mushrooms. However, the stuff is not really friendly and place is packed.
Very lively and crowded place. Nice location as well.
Food isn't great but staff is very accommodating and helpful. For drinks and socializing it hits the spot.
Breakfast was so good,, service was very fast and staff were very nice and polite me and my family enjoyed ourselves we will be back again for sure next month. My son Ryan couldn't help but pose for a pic outside as he was happy that he had found a place in Edinburugh that was the same name as him,, hahaha 🙂
Great food and drink in a beautiful city. Only called in for lunch. When we're back in Edinburgh we will definitely call back for the evening drinks 👍
Nice place for a drink or something to eat. Food excellent, friendly staff and artistic ambient.
The eggs Benedict was very delicious and the staff were very friendly. We just stopped in for breakfast but the lunch options looked very good too.
Great location at the West End of Edinburgh. Easy access by public transport from most of the city. Good selection of beers & a great plate of Fish 'n' Chips.
