Family run, friendly banter and great food. Pick a number from a board full of suggestions on freshly made baguettes, ciabatta, focaccia, wraps, bagels... or create your own. There's salad, two daily soup & pasta options and an assortment of other freshly prepared surprises. There are breakfast options and gelato over summer. Very good coffee to round it off. It can get busy but that's due to regular customers. A good sign! There's also a certain legendary #9 baguette but I'll let you discover the magic yourself.

Home of the famous number 9. A must try when visiting Edinburgh A grilled chicken baguette or wrap with their secret recipe homemade chipotle sauce Select your spice level from low (1) to hot (5). Exquisite coffee with the option to buy beans to take home. Grab a cannoli when passing, freshly made with different fillings available. A selection of popular wraps and baguettes some pasta options and more. What else to say really...

One of the best baguettes I have had in a long time. Delicious fresh baguette, Full of tasty ingredients. The original jalapeño sauce is to die for and the chicken is super well cooked. Nice little place to grab a sandwich and something sweet during your visit in Edinburg.

Beautiful little Italian cafe with very friendly staff. Had the most delicious sandwich I’ve tried here! Would highly recommend. Also has a variety of cold drinks which are very necessary with the current warm weather.

Didn’t eat the food, but there was a guy raving about the nines wrap. I had one of the best lattes I’ve had in a long time. Strong, not bitter, with great aroma and flavor. The guy behind the counter was friendly and informative. A great find!

Authentic pastries, legendary sandwiches, a wholesome family-run cafe. I can't pass through Edinburgh without getting that No.9 sandwich!

I had the original smoking chicken sandwich. It is amazing! So much flavour. Also the best cappuccino we’ve had was here. The milk is a silky smooth blanket over a rich espresso base. Recommend this place highly.

Great little find in Edinburgh today, the Italian desserts on show in the window were to enticing.. Called in to try a couple and walked out with the greatest tasting arancini. Which was ham and bechamel truely to die for..a visit here is a must and I know I will visiting again. Great service, nice staff and good prices! Just wish I tried the coffee.

Insanely good food, served by a family oriented team who truly care about the service and produce served. I cannot fault the quality of the food here, all handmade, fresh and with true care. A brilliant experience that all locals and tourists simply must experience. Go for the famous No9 and you won't be disappointed. The heat heads amongst you can try out the 999, which packs both heat and flavour

A cracking wee place. The food and service here are both great and the atmosphere is welcoming. Some stuff is pre-prepared whilst some is made up in order. The signature sandwich, the Legendary No. 9, is fantastic and comes in a few variations, mostly based in how much heat you can handle - I recommend the Triple 9, if you dare! The pasta dishes and pastries are also great. Vegetarian options are available too. When it's busy there can be a bit if a wait, but it's worth it. There is only limited seating, so mostly takeaway. This was not my first visit, and it will not be my last, highly recommend.

I traveled to Edinburgh for a small trip with a group of friends back in late June 2021. I asked for a New York Pastrami Ciabatta and Mocha and I haven't been able to stop thinking about the ciabatta. The gentleman behind the counter gave my friends and I excellent service and was overall very friendly. If ever I'm back in Edinburgh again I'll be sure to visit again and enjoy more of the cafe, hopefully the weather will be more inviting. 5/5.
