We were looking for a place in which to have some breakfast and we found Centro. It was a very pleasant experience, breakfast was tasty, coffee was good, the waiter really pleasant.

The only negative about Caffe Centro is the food. At nearly £7 for a panini without any sides, this was steep in anyone's eyes. The paninis are nothing exceptional, and the main dishes like pasta comes in a small portion at a high price. Caffe Centro should really stick to what it does best- drinks and desserts- and then can it truly shine.

I love this wee cafe. I mostly use it to get take away for lunch (£3.50 for a portion of pasta) its great value.

Staff are warm and welcoming. My personal favourite is the arribiata. Its really garlicy and spicy a great combination in my opinion.

The cakes are also fabulous. Well worth visiting both for take away and to sit in.

In a city centre jam-packed with the ubiquitousness of Costa Coffee, Starbucks and Caffe Nero, it is refreshing to see a coffee shop with a difference. Well, alright, Caffe Centro isn't just a coffee shop, it also serves some great food, it's in a great location too and this makes it a favourite for many that walk along George Street.

The choice between a bland and familiar coffee chain, or something with a more independent feel is hardly a big choice to make. On sunny days the outside terracing in the back is utilised and the staff are very friendly despite clearly being positively rammed at times.

The desserts are also very resplendent, I'd be hard pressed to pick a favourite thanks to my sweet-tooth. Caffe Centro is a good place to meet friends or to have a nice bite to eat, making this one of the better dining choices in the centre of the Athens of the North.

Had lunch with grandkids based on reviews here - not disappointed. Comprehensive menu and friendly service. Pizzas are very large and extremely tasty. My wife and I had pasta dishes and salad which were excellent, and much larger portions than we expected. Overall excellent value ( much better than the chains ) with friendly and efficient service. Will be back as deserts look very nice.

A great little place for fabulous Italian food. Very tasty pizza and great service in a clean, comfy and modern environment. Not a huge amount of vegetarian options, but what there is was lovely. Highly recommended!

Excellent food with a great atmosphere. Reasonably priced and a good service. Only reason it’s 4 stars is because they add a service charge, which I personally don’t like as I like to tip what I feel is the correct amount, without it being automatically added. It’s a personal thing, but takes away from the experience. Meals are £9.50 for Pizza and £10-12 for other mains. Beers are £5.50 for a pint. Edit: Caffe Centro contacted me to let me know there isn’t a service charge. I can 100% state there is.

Wow what find...food was amazing, was not rushed. Staff left you alone to enjoy your meal and not asked if all OK when you take your first bite...Great value for money. Lasagne and ravioli with salad and garlic bread ⁹

Great food, great coffee and friendly service, we both had the Royale breakfast (2 poached eggs, salmon, spinach leaves, hollandaise and toasted muffin) cooked perfectly and fresh tasting. 2 x Cappuccino and latte’s came in at very reasonable less than £15 a head.

We stayed there for Aperitivo and Lunch, the atmosphere - we had a table in the patio - was very relaxed and quite. The service - thank you Jessica! - was so friendly and professional, which was a great plus to the overall experience. Prices are very decent for the area. And they do a real Italian espresso, which we appreciated a lot. We were not overwhelmed by the food, but then we do live in Italy, and we are quite spoiled. Though everything (bruschetta, Caesar's salad and pasta amatriciana - no guanciale, only pancetta) was nice. We definitely will come back!

My favourite restaurant in Edinburgh. I am coeliac and they do the best gluten free pizza I’ve ever had, the staff are lovely and we have a great time every-time we go!

Wonderful restaurant. All of the dishes we had were first class. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Our waitress was so lovely. Kept us right with choices and we would have absolutely no hesitation about visiting again. Best coffee we'd had for such a long time. Fabulous. Only allowed to give 5 stars, otherwise it would be double
