We visited on a Sunday lunchtime. My husband and I had the veggie brunch which was fantastic and we would definitely come again. My son had the cheesy pasta from the kids menu and enjoyed it too. The only thing that puts me off returning for an evening meal is that the alcohol free drinks offering is poor. I can’t drink alcohol, so would really like to see the option of mocktails as well as cocktails. The food is delicious though.

Good place to enjoy with friends. Had a good team doing pub quiz. It’s a good looking place with good selection of drinks. No that expensive.

The very lovely and friendly staff at Southpour kindly invited me to go along to their Bloggers Brunch just prior to them opening the next day. Boy oh boy were we all in for a treat! Not only was all our cameras clicking like crazy but our tummies were rumbling at the thought of tucking into the wonderful spread that was laid on for all us bloggers to dig into.

This is a very welcomed and highly needed restaurant/bar in Newington. It's modern, fresh, contemporary, open and comfortable. The window booths and the seating all around the windows opens this place up and floods it with light. The exposed brickwork and padlocks decor is hip and current. It will have a broad appeal from students to grandparents.

They serve up some fabulous brunches and their coffees are divine! I especially like their crockery.

Nice, atmospheric place to grab a coffee, brunch, lunch or dinner. The staff is pleasant and friendly, easy to chat up. I only had brunch, which's menu is rather limited. The portions are a bit small, but the dishes are inexpensive. Their coffee is tasty, and there is no extra charge for alternative milks. Their bathroom is in great condition, and same as the rest of the restaurant, it is nice and designed well. They have areas with sockets, so it is possible to sit and use a laptop.

I came here for my first taste of Scottish Cuisine, so I got the full breakfast. It came with all the classics of a standard full breakfast and then some, with some tasty additions such as haggis and a potato scone. All the items were very well cooked and I was left pleasantly satiated afterwards!

Our server was Matthew! He was lovely and attentive. Having just come from London where the food is so pricey and hit or miss in terms of “yumminess”, this was a little oasis. We spent £40 and had soda, coffee, tomato soup, one starter, one main dish, and one dessert. Portions are generous and food was extremely tasty! We are coming back for on-the-go breakfast tomorrow!

👌Delicious food. 👌Friendly staff. 👌Free wifi. 👌Super clean toilet. 👌Lovely decoration. 👌Cozy atmosphere.👌Food/ cake/ coffee/ alcoholic drink It's super nice to go away from the crowded area of Edinburgh a bit. The food taste and price are reasonable. And this place is not far from the entrance to Authur's Seat. I have Scottish full breakfast and latte before go walking. The cooked scrambled egg is really made my day! HAHA

Amazing cocktails, excellent food even if a bit pricey, hence the 4 stars. The Moving Mountains veggie burger was £15 the Smashed Burger Melt £11. Nice decor and the window sit was nice.

A different menu with more unusual dishes but pretty tasty. Nice little restaurant in a great area of town.

Southpour was always an amazing place to visit and the corner location over the busy junction mesmerises you with the constant flow of people and cars. We came to Southpour for brunch on a Saturday noon. Beautiful place and very friendly environment to enjoy your Saturday. We were a bit lost with the menu as it’s a bit weird, the plates looks like the normal options for a British brunch menu but there is more international spin that doesn’t necessarily makes sense. My choice was the bacon triplet and it was ok, slightly overcooked the bacon slices but the eggs and the sauce were great. Pretty much everything individually was cooked well but all combined weren’t working well. The menu has some vegan and vegetarian options but no gluten free ones. When we asked, they provided some option that could be alternated on gluten free but they couldn’t guarantee. I wouldn’t risk it if I was celiac, better try somewhere else. We have been many times in Southpour and we will be there again for sure, but definitely we will wait for a change on the menu first. Also, please bring back the pancakes stack, it wad amazing and it is missing from the current menu.

It was pretty good. Only complaint would be the smash burger, it was laughable how small the beef patties were. Typically I imagine a smash burger's patties to be wide and flat. Flavor was fine.

Great food, excellent service. Has some very nice wine. There is a nice view for people watching out the windows. The restaurant has a very relaxed atmosphere. We loved it and had a very nice time. Would come again next time we are in Edinburgh.

Walked in on a cold, wet, windy evening to find a warm welcoming atmosphere. Great food, lovely drinks and friendly knowledgable staff. Jemma with a J and Barry with a B were fantastic and the slow cooked pork belly was outstanding.

Had the Benedict egg and avocado toast, it’s the best meal I’ve had in town so far (and I’m picky). The avocado one is served with pistachios on top and perfectly cooked cherry tomatoes (very good mix) the poached eggs are also very well done. It’s good job! The place is also very nice. Only bad point, we had to wait quite a bit, but it was worth it.

Just popped in for drinks with friends and was impressed immediately. There was a live singer, the atmosphere was chilled. There was a really good selection or spirits beers and wines to choose from and the staff were super friendly. What I liked most was it wasnt over crowded and it was clean and tidy.
