The Pizzas we ordered was very good and the prices are acceptable considering the restaurant is situated in the heart of Edinburgh. Service was very good and didn’t take long for the food to come to our table.

I've visited Mamma's a few times in the last couple of years - very handy when you work in the Grassmarket! Their pizza was always good and served up the way I like it. Thin and crispy (no soggy bottom in sight!) base, just enought tomato sauce and lots of cheese! Huge slices that full you up.
I went along to their 30th Birthday celebration combined with the launch of their Star Wars pizza menu. There was numerous combinations of pizzas available including gluten free options. (Highly recommended if you are coeliac!). Angus Macinnes (Gold Leader in Star Wars Episode IV) the original owner, was the guest of honour.
Cheese-3-PO, Ham-Solo and Darth Veggie featured. Very very tasty indeed.
Mammas Pizzeria is small but a great place for groups, families, children and friends to meet up. The staff are all super friendly and great service.
The pizza is good, possibly in my top 3 places in Edinburgh to eat pizza. Go try it!

The pizza here is absolutely amazing. They have such a wide range of toppings, I'm a fan of any place that lets me have banana on my pizza. It sounds gross but seriously, try it.

Also if you're a student, they have an offer in the snapfax so that's worth checking out.

I've been fond of Mamma's for many years and even throgh they've passed their peak they remain a favourite.

Once dotted around from Inverleith to Bruntsfield, now the Grassmarket branch is all that remains. However, they've long provided one of the better gluten free pizzas I've come across - crispy, flavoursome, and almost indistinguishable from the 'normal' ones.

The range of toppings is huge and you'll probably find yourself debating whether pickled cactus and marshmallows would go together. Which is a refreshing alternative to most pizzerias' mainstream selection of meat and veg. I'm also a fan of anywhere that gives me the option of coating my food in parmesan and chilli.

Since the Grassmarket was reopened as something that looks rather continental, it's lovely to sit outside here on a summer day and eat nice pizza while watching the tourists. Inside is a little bit cramped, but then there's always the option of takeaway as well. The staff are mostly quite wonderfully eccentric, and likely to get caught up in silly banter, which I always see as an excuse in itself to visit somewhere!

Nice a little Italian restaurant! Went there by walking pass! Great location in the heart of the Grassmarket! I actually used to live there! ???? there are tables outside the restaurant as well, so when there is nice weather you can head outside! the service was good, got seated straight away. Was quite quiet when we came through! We ordered the veggie pizza! I liked it but was a bit overcooked on the base an undercooked on the veg! Overall it was an good experience! The decor was abit outdated and could do with a lil touch up! Price range from £7 - £20 per person

5/5 definitely an enjoyable experience. Relaxed atmosphere with good music and excellent service. The food is impeccable and incredibly cheap for it's generous portion size and delicious taste. Being a steak snob myself, I had the stone steak. Which is very rare in Edinburgh and for only £17.50, when the usual can be up to and including £29. I was not disappointed. The large selection of free dips and the gorgeous sweet potato chips were a great addition. Having been twice with separate groups I have tried the pizza (really cheesy with any toppings you can think of), the stone tuna (the best my mother had ever tasted, and she is a picky woman), the massive pure chicken breast burger (something that actually filled my father's stomach), and the generous single portion of garlic cheese bread which managed to feed 3. The food was quick and served by delightful staff. I would recommend this place to everyone. Please excuse the lack of food in the photo, the steak was about 10 oz and so tasty I couldn't wait for someone to take a photo.

This place promised a lot with it's authentic Italian decor and busy hubbubed atmosphere, and I'm glad to say it delivered!! Fantastic pizzas with very interesting ingredients... I'm sad to say I was boring and opted for Chicken, Chorizo and Apple on mine (which was absolutely delicious nonetheless - it almost brought me to tears!) but there are options ranging from extra cheese to chocolate. My partner had the stoned steak which was absolutely spot on, though I fell for the old 'touch the really hot thing that I definitely shouldn't touch and have been warned will burn me if I touch it' with the lava stone it was served on. 5/5 would go again. Such food. Much yum. Wow.

Randomly found this place while walking around Edinburgh for a few days holiday. I was very surprised at how decent the food actually was. Plus the server was very friendly and extremely helpful. They have a lot of pizza options plus gluten free too, however, not too many other main options other than pizza. However the different pizza options were amazing and very varied. Their chips were personally the best my sister and I have ever had. Definitely go back again. Also didn't feel horrendous after the pizza like I normally do when having pizza as take out.

Wonderful place to stop and eat pizza. The food and service were very good. There is outside seating allowing you to watch the many people wandering by. A wheelchair would be a little difficult but as long as you stay outside I think you would be good. Wonderful time eating, visiting, and people watching.

Shared a pizza here for lunch in their outside seating. Such a lovely location and the pizza is great too. We loved witnessing the bustle of the fringe as we ate.

Excellent food and service. I would go here again. The only thing I didnt like about the meal was the sides, the mushy veg and the greens with no flavor (garnish, I am sure). But the steak I had was great and my wife's lasagna was good.

This was an incredible find. Highly recommend. My husband and I shared a 12 inch with a salad side and chilli cheese fries. All the food was delicious. Could not fault. The salad was a great addition to our meal (rocket, pomegranet and walnut). The staff were really attentive and made us feel really welcome. They always knew what we needed before we had to ask for it. Perfect spot.

Stopped in today after a hike on Arthur’s Seat and got just the carbs we were looking for. The staff was all friendly and they had Gluten-free options for me which I loved. Probably the only downside is they have a bunch of really great sounding specialty pizzas so picking between them might be hard.

First off, who doesn’t want pizza from a place founded by Gold Leader? Seriously though, the staff was incredibly friendly, helpful and fast. We were having a hard time finding food after a late arrival into the city, and these guys happily took us in about a half hour before they closed. We got a couple of their Star Wars themed cocktails (Please get the Rogue One, it’s amazing) This pizzas were very good and very fresh flavors. Please check this place out on your trip!

Very grateful for a place that carefully prepared gluten free pizza. Ours was very good; could perhaps be cooked a few minutes more. Excellent service. Great location.

Incredibly friendly staff, fab location, great pizza including gluten-free pizza and even a selection of gluten-free beer.... we were ecstatic. We are always concerned with cross-contamination at pizza places (my teen is Coeliac) but all was good. Would highly recommend. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Edinburgh!
