This is one of our favourite cafes.

The chai is TRULY the best in town, made with real spices and NOT syrup, plus many varieties of it.

The Tibetan and Indian food options are all very tasty and well calibrated.

The owner has this ability of making everyone feel welcome.

Highly recommend.

Placed in the heart of Newington, this beautiful cafe embodies Tibetan culture at its best. The host is incredibly friendly and welcoming, always serving customers with a keen smile on her face. The decor is absolutely beautiful and the cafe features a meditation room which is open to any and all that wish to use it. The food is delicious, with the tibetan soup being hearty, but not the most filling. The himalayan chicken thali plate is incredibly flavoursome and aromatic. One of the best I've had. The vegetable momos are also delicious. Strongly recommended visiting this place - a must see!

Excellent food, lovely friendly service. Good price for a decent lunch. Lady who runs it is so friendly. Recommend either the Himalayan Combo or the Tibetan Combo. Also had a "healthy" (large) piece of cake.

We visited Himalaya Centre this week for a cup of chai and a samosa. Both items were amazing, and the chai warmed us both up in the pouring rain outside. The samosa was packed full of flavour also. I will definitely return here when I next visit from London. Unfortunately I didn’t catch the name of the lovely lady who served us, but she was great. Atmosphere was lively too. Thank you!

Definitely the best chai tea I've ever had! The soup and momos were delicious, exactly what I needed for lunch. Very friendly service and atmosphere as well :)

Today we went for lunch . food is very fresh and tasty. We really liked the Soup as well as thali. What truly sets this restaurant apart is the exceptional hospitality of the owner and staff. The owner, whose passion for sharing Tibetan culture is evident in every aspect of the restaurant decor. she personally greeted each guest and made sure that we felt like cherished friends rather than customers.

I discovered this place eleven years ago. After all this time, the food is still wonderful. Everything is homemade, very tasty and very good value. Above all, the owner is very friendly and makes you feel at home. Highly recommended. Thank you for this wonderful food!

I visited the cafe with my mom and had a wonderful experience. First off the food is amazing. We had the samosa and chai special , channa and veg momos. Truly, the best tea I've had in the UK, with fresh ginger. Samosa, channa were great. The momos were authentic. I especially enjoyed the momo chutney which was as spicy as the one from India. But beyond the food, Reka is so kind and warm. She just made our day special! Just loved everything about the cafe. A must visit in Edinburgh!

Been coming here for months and I just love the owner and her hospitality! She’s simply the most caring restaurant owner in the city. Amazing chai latte with real ginger not just tea bags or flavour shots! Tried their momos and samosas! All amazing!
