Had a couple of days in Edinburgh and went to the Guildford Arms a lovely little pub just off Princess Street. My friend and I had a lovely meal, fish and chips and steak and ale pie, great service, lovely staff and a good selection of ale. If you are in Edinburgh I recommend this pace for drinks and food.

Found this place while stumbling around looking for a late lunch. A not insubstantial bowl of Shetland mussels shared for starters and a steak and ale pie with mash and veggies washed down with a pint and a half of Cascadian saw me struggling to stay awake through both the comedy shows later in the day. This place is definitely worth a look-in...

Great place near central Edinburgh The mussels were great and plenty in an order. Very good beer and whiskey selection. You have to order at the bar which is tough if many people are ordering beers.

What a great place for a drink and some food. We popped in for a late lunch yesterday and were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was despite being very busy in the bar. We were directed upstairs for a table and asked for one of the free tables overlooking the bar. We were told that these were reserved and were given the table beside the till. This wasn’t great as the French waiter was always there and would speak to himself as entering details on register. Within minutes of us sitting here other customers were given these tables without bookings so clearly the waiter was just keeping the best tables back for those fortunate enough to get one! The food and wine was good standard pub food presented well in a nice pub, shame about the table.

A traditional pub offering fine ales for the discerning drinker. You enter a bygone age of well kept beer served within a beautiful building with a vibrant atmosphere. It’s just how pubs should be.

This place is stunning. Spent ages looking at the architecture.. Great selection of beers and even had a tasting session for real ales while we were there. Something I haven't seen in a long while.... Big thankyou. Def will be visiting this pub again.

My visit to the Guildford Arms was nothing short of fantastic. The fish chowder was a delightful burst of flavor, loaded with generous, chunky fish pieces. The chicken stuffed with haggis and wrapped in bacon was amazing. Paul, our server, was incredibly polite and impeccably presented, enhancing our overall dining experience. Not only was my experience exceptional, but my friends also thoroughly enjoyed their starters. The smoked mackerel pate and the chorizo and goat's cheese turnover were a hit with them. The Guildford Arms truly caters to a diverse range of tastes, making it an even more appealing choice for a memorable dining experience. What impressed me even more was their extensive selection of beers and ciders, catering to a variety of tastes. I wholeheartedly recommend the Guildford Arms for both beer enthusiasts and those seeking excellent food. A must-visit spot!

Fantastic pub off the beaten path! It's worth it just to see the place, but they have plenty on tap to fit any taste. We didn't make it in time for food, the kitchen closes at 9pm, but the menu did look good.

The food was absolutely amazing, highly recommend the bangers and mash. The atmosphere was very cool as well! Dining area is situated above the rest of the pub.

Had lunch here Wednesday 4th October in the upstairs restaurant (booking recommend). For a city centre pub/restaurant it was surprisingly good. Great atmosphere and the food was wholesome and freshly made. Absolutely no complaints at all. The service from the extremely pleasant and the well presented waiter was a joy. What a change to meet someone who was proactive, professional and approachable. Without a doubt due to the service received we shall return sooner than later.

Very nice pub just behind the main drag of Princes Street at the east end. The pub is an original Edwardian decor, and serves food and drink. There's a good selection of beers with good friendly service. Food is served downstairs and upstairs. The tables upstairs have a balcony overlooking the main area of the pub. It's a nice place to visit when you're in that area of Edinburgh.

This is such a beautiful bar and restaurant. The food upstairs is absolutely amazing and the service is phenomenal! Our server Iain was straightforward, kind, and extremely friendly. The Sottish burger is one of the best burgers I’ve ever had! We will definitely spread the word and return after the experience he provided us! Thanks!!
