So me and other mummies went to lunch and it was really lovely. The staff was fab too. I had a club sandwich and the best desert crepe ever! Peanut butter and Nutella yum!!! Was so good I took my mother in law and hubby back the next day!

If you like French and rustic decor you will definitely love Cafe Tartine. I love how big it is so you don't usually struggle to find a table. Great location at the shore and if you sit at the back you get a beautiful view. I've been many times for coffee and wifi and I always felt relaxed. The staff is very friendly and they never rush you. Need to come back to try their crepes!

Absolutely love this French cafe/ restaurant. Firstly the menu is consistently good whether you go for a crepe or something like pulled pork. The specials are actually special often with innovative flavour combos. It is also dog friendly at the back and opens early on the weekends so makes the perfect breakfast/ brunch spot with your dog. Staff are nice and keen to fix mistakes- a missed or late order once or twice has resulted in those items being taken off the bill. Something all restaurants should do if they want return custom.

Gorgeous location for this charming french cafe in The Shore, Leith. We wanted to go to the Roseleaf but it was full so, instead, we gave Cafe Tartine a chance and loved it. Coffee was delicious, and so was the orange juice. We shared a lovely cured meats and french cheeses board, and a savoury crepe. Loved every bit of it. If you can, make sure you are seated in the conservatory, especially on a sunny day.
This cafe is dog friendly and it was nice to see quite a few four-legged creatures behaving very well there.

I put on a best/worse date competition via @edinburghblogg (find and follow us) so the team at Zomato gave me £30 vouchers for cafe Tartine! Hard work pays off in food ;) I believe the reason I'm such foodie is down to my big sister for taking me for dinner when I was younger! So else but big sister to enjoy the voucher with.
I got the sea-bass and Husna got the Salmon. The seabass wasn't my cuppa but Husna loved it I preferred her Salmon dish as the roast potatoes were so good!
Now about the best part... I ordered the crepe banoffee and my sister Tart fine aux pommes, the wait did say 20 cook time for the Tart fine aux Pommes and said customer say it's worth it....but can I say again.... It's so worth it! Even tho my sister ordered it, it was me that ate most of it! So good! The decor was very French like, birdcages, the wooden tables and overall atmosphere.

I loved the location, beautiful at the leith shore! Recommended! Average £20pp

Impressed on first visit.. A friend and I, along with my 5 month old baby, just enjoyed a tasty lunch. Our first time at Cafe Tartine and I will definitely be back. The decor, staff and food all get top marks from me. I had a chicken breast burger (not the most French dish on menu but what I fancied) and it was delicious. My friend really enjoyed her veggie burger too. We had a coffee afterwards, best coffee I've had in ages, but will make the crepes a must have next time. We chose to sit in the light bright conservatory which provided ample space for my pushchair and a nice comfy sofa to prop child up on while we munched away. The baby changing facilities were spot on and included a unit with spare nappies and wipes just in case. Reasonable prices too and being a resident of Leith I am really pleased to have another family (and dog friendly) venue on my doorstep. I hope it does well and would definitely recommend.

Joanne and Michael Ramsay have managed to turn their crepe van business, Crepearray, into Café Tartine, a French café wine bar on the trendy Commercial Street in Leith. However, although freshly made crepes are still a main focus of Cafe Tartine, diners are also offered a wide variety of French cuisine and grill dishes.

This is a great place to chill out with friends for any occasion. In particular I loved the sweet crepes which I will definitely go back to try again.

I live right round the corner Cafe Tartine and have been awaiting its opening eagerly. I finally went the other day a few days after it opened. On this particular occasion I was extremely hungover after a heavy night of Fringing and was looking for a breakfast that would cure my hangover and an isolate seat where I could read my book in silence. Cafe Tartine provided me with both of these.

The decor was light and airy with wooden tables and a selection of comfy sofas. I opted for a single sofa with plenty of pillows. I was quickly given a menu and a glass of water with a slice of lemon. The menu featured a great selection of French dishes ranging from proper grill items to lighter items such a crepes and of course a selection of French pastries. I opted for a French soup to start with and a Madame Croque Monsieur to follow. The food came quickly and was delivered by the chef himself which I found quite charming.
The French onion soup was a treat, it was definitely on the sweeter side but the sweetness complimented the cheesy bread that came in it. My only criticism was that the bread was slightly burnt but other than that I found it most enjoyable. Next came the Croque Monsieur, which was absolutely mammoth! It consisted of two large slabs on of bread topped with melted cheese and a whole fired egg and was filled with ham, meat, Emmental cheese and lashings of Bechamel sauce. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect hangover cure.

All in all, I greatly enjoyed my Cafe Tartine experience and I have no doubt the cafe will be a success.

Leith has always had many great places for grabbing a lunch or going out for dinner but it always seemed to me that the cafe scene is a bit limited. As I love taking my work out into cafes and having nice places for a light lunch and a coffee around I am very excited for Tartine finally opening.
We visited on their second day since opening and tried something from almost every single page of the menu and we were not disappointed. The coffee is lovely (and huge!), sandwiches very satisfying and crepes... mmm... I dreamed of a place making nice crepes in Leith for so long and it finally came true! We finished with nice wine which made everything perfect.
I hope the business will grow and keep this nice state of variety in the Leith/Shore cafe scene.

What a great addition to Leith a lovely new cafe. The decor is wonderful, light and bright. Great couches and armchairs if you just want a drink or relaxed lunch.
We had the meat and cheese sharing platter which was superb the homemade pate was sublime as were the french cheeses. I had a crepe for my main which I loved, others has mussels and burgers which everyone enjoyed. There were empty plates all round.
We will definitely be back. I have eyed up the large table... It would be perfect for a long lazy lunch with plenty sharing platters!

The food at Café Tartine was simply amazing. The portions were all cooked to perfection and of ample size. They were prepared and served in good time, especially considering that they are clearly cooked from scratch, as the quality is so good. The deserts were just as good as the main courses and clearly fit the restaurants French inspiration. The staff are very friendly and were more than helpful, allowing for our party to sit at a table near some plug sockets so that we were able to charge our phones. The resturant also features a dog friendly conservatory, which lets people bring their songs inside in them (provided they are well behaved). If this place was local to me, then I'd certainly be a regular, provided the amazing price and staggering quality of the food.

Called in for breakfast as this is a dog friendly establishment. Had a wonderful breakfast, all freshly cooked washed down with a large black coffee. Waitress service was perfect with a friendly and attentive attitude to all the customers. Would highly recommend... Café Tartine, you also need to set up an Instagram page... Facebook is so last year 😉

Been here during lunch time quite a few times. Good food and coffee. Particularly like the Belgian hot chocolate. The external seating area is very nice.

Lovely French restaurant with a nice selection of food, though not many veggie options, there was a very good risotto and some side options to choose from. The dessert menu featured a long list of crepes which all looked fantastic. The staff were very friendly and accommodating for our large group, and very attentive. Beautiful setting and cosy atmosphere. All in all, a nice stop if you're in the area.

Excellent breakfast service. Went as part of a group of around 20. We pre-ordered and the food was ready and served in short order once we arrived. Eggs benedict were soft and runny, no mean feat when cooking for that many at once. Pastries also excellent and small children well catered for. A very fine trip all round.
