Excellent Thai food along with great service.
Very tasty food
Enjoyed a very nice lunch recently. Was busy as we went in about 2.30 and we shared a high table with another group. Restaurant thinned out however probably as students returned to lectures. Service is prompt and friendly and given the nature of the restaurant there is a relatively brisk turnover of clientele. Food was delicious and well prepared. Pricing is mid-range. Certainly worth a visit if in this part of town.

Amazing place, the atmosphere is buzzing and the food is delicious. Would definitely recommend the Pad Thai! There needs to be more branches for sure!
A must have place for travellers craving for good Thai food. The Seabass dish will knock any foodie's tastebuds out of the park! Place could've been a bit kids friendly but other than that the food experience was phenomenal!
We found this on Zomato and werenāt expecting it to be so good. Very trendy place with a great vibe. The food is excellent - full of flavour. We had the Pad Thai and the Green Curry. Both excellent. The Som Tam Salad was superb too. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Edinburgh.
I am in love with Ting Thai's food š honestly some of the best Asian food I have had in a while.
The restaurant is tiny and it was really busy when we got there, but we were helped immediately and seated right away. The restaurant is clean but a bit chaotic, due to its size I'm sure.
It has a great atmosphere of lingering late night eat8mg in New York in a tiny Asian restaurant where everyone knows everyone and is very vibey.
The service was ok, not that great. Quite impersonal and rushed. We almost felt as if they were rushing us in order to flip as many tables as possible, which I understand, but then your customer service should be on point.
I had the and my husband had the. The seafood was so fresh and the muscles were so big and sweet! We also munched on the crispy pork skins were were crispy and flavourful!
I would recommend them to anyone who loves fresh, home made authentic Asian food. I dream of going back all the time! If I could eat there every day, I would š¤£
We came here twice during our recent holiday on the recommendation of some local students. Lovely place with a great vibe, busy busy busy at certain times.
We ordered vegetarian Tom yum soup one time, prawn Tom yum soup another, son in law eggs, green papaya salad, pad Thai, seabass maeklong, Bangkok spicy chicken wings, and khao mun gai too (chicken with rice, veg and a chilli sauce).
Food was amazing. Best we had in Edinburgh. Flavourful, fresh, acid, sweet, salty, spicy, herbaceous, textural. We enjoyed the Tom yum soup very much so we ordered it twice. It seems like the vegetarian option doesnāt add more mushrooms or veggies, just takes the meat away from the dish, so might be neat just to order the meat version and give the meat to your friends. The khao mun gai tod was fabulous, the chilli sauce was so delicious my vegetarian partner kept stealing bits of it even though it was chicken. Fish was very tasty albeit peanutty, and the fillet was on the small side. Papaya salad and Bangkok spicy wings were bordering on the too spicy side. If anything, I wouldnāt get the wings again as I was expecting crispy wings in sauce, but they seemed to be lightly baked or boiled ie the skin wasnāt crispy.
Well worth a look in. Weāll be back if weāre back in Edinburgh.
Popped in for an impromptu lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Super tasty food, very reasonable prices and a great buzz. Certainly not for those private conversations though, it's rather cosy.
Ting Thai caravan is a buzzing busy diner. The food appealed to my pregnant self and that's what makes this place a must visit. Their coconut rice and Thai green curry was on our menu for 2 consecutive days while in Edinburgh. So far the best green curry- rice combo I have ever had. Would love to visit again!
Ting Thai Caravan is on a lot of "Top Eats" lists across various blogs and websites. Staying true to it's reputation, it's a great stop for lunch, with most items under or around 5Ā£.
We ordered and loved the
1. Green Curry with Jasmine Rice
2.Gai Cha Plu
My absolute favourite lunch stop in Edinburgh. Great food, Cheap prices and a casual setting to enjoy some tasty Thai food with your friends. Pad Se Ew and Khao Mun Gai Tod are my absolute favourites. The Massaman curry is one of the best had in Edinburgh as well. Give the wok fried veg (Pad Pak) and the sweet potato chips(Mun Tod) a try as well.
I'd give my 10 stars if I can. Really love this place.
My life saver during an empty stomach in univ, since the location is well located near to univ of Edinburgh. The price is very reasonable.
And their Padthai is beyond words... š
I'm Asian, and I love asian foods yet their padthai is the next level.
Other dishes I love : Kha Mon Gai Tod and Mun Tod šš»
Oya, their price is cheaper during day time
We were roaming around the city feeling cold and hungry, but when we found a Thai place we had to try it. We had very little expectations on the place but it came as a surprise for us after tasting the food here. Kind staff and such cozy ambience gives the sense of calmness.
I tried the chicken with jasmine rice and Oh my gawddddd! Awesomeness!! Just awesomeness! We had tofu flat noodles which was equally good as well.
Loved the food so much and I still crave for the same chicken dish Everytime I think of it. Cheers!!
Nice cozy place catering to the taste buds just as it should šš» Staff were friendly and the food was great!
We usually try different places when we're on vacation but this place deserves another visit before we leave!
Decent food, well balanced, fresh. Ate there once and was quite happy with the taste, quality and service. Will try it again next time I'm in town.
I went there with my boyfriend and we thoroughly enjoyed it! I ordered Nua Yam Talay with a boiled rice and my boyfriend ordered Panang Nua. I loved my dish and my boyfriend also loved his meal as well. We went there on a weekday (don't remember the exact day) at around 12:30. The restaurant was packed, but we still got seats. A few minutes later people started to come and a lot of them had to queue outside. We were very lucky to arrive there before the restaurant became more crowded!
Hands down the best place for cheap Thai food. The menu has many items to choose from, accommodating to most (including vegetarians). Despite the long queues during lunch times, service is usually quick, with the friendly staff making the experience more enjoyable.
We stopped in for lunch in between a couple of Fringe shows and had a great meal. I really enjoyed the no frills approach, leaving them to concentrate on the food. Each dish was nice and flavourful and I've a funny feeling I would have liked every item on the menu!
If you want to be waited on hand and foot, this isn't the place for you (you even have to fill your own water jug). But, if you're just after great food, it's well worth a visit.
I asked the waiter about what I should get, as I was a little lost with the menu. He recommended a batter shrimp appetizer and a chicken main I'd never heard of. I loved it! Wanted to try more! The flavors were amazing - and different to me... Not your normal Thai food. My friend got Pad Thai and was underwhelmed. After tasting mine- she said she wished she would have followed the waiters advice:)
One of the best meals during my stay here at Edinburgh was at Ting Thai. The staff was really polite good in number and very efficient.
Its one of those quick meal restaurants which ensures you a stomach meal meal without hurting your pocket much.
The food was great, each meal was filling enough for one and they were served in an easy to dispose boxes for convenience.
A much recommended.
great thai food, maybe the best i ever tried. very, very cheap. only has two problems for me: too noisy and chairs are not very comfortable. i would recommend it for a quality quick lunch. but is not a place where you feel you can stay for a couple of hours.
Excellent, excellent place. The noodle and rice boxes are amazing value for money and they all taste very different. We had at least 4 of them and they were all unique. I couldn't decide which one was my favourite! Definitely will be back.
Really lovely curry. Tried both the red and green and they were large and tasty with lots of chicken. However the servers had bad attitude and were really impatient and rude.
My 1st Thai food in Edinburgh. My bf took me for lunch and we order 5 dishes. The presentation was amazing. Every dish taste good and its full-feeling. We order drinks "cha Thai" it's so tasty. I would definitely go back if there is a chance.
This is a fantastic place for a catch up with friends. Casual dining with the 'street food' feel. I absolutely loved it here. The food is fresh and delicious!
One of my favourite Thai restaurants in Edinburgh. Yes, it is a bit 'hipsterish' and the staff is not the friendliest but the value that you get for your money is amazing. The food is always fresh and comes in big portions. Their chefs really know how to put great food out. I tried their Pad Thai which wasn't to my taste since it was a bit sweet for me. But anyone who doesn't like spicy would enjoy this dish. I had Khao Sawy Talay the other day which was a curry broth with seafood. It was awesome! Loads of seafood and the sauce was a bit spicy and very fresh. The Tom Yam soup is one of the best ones I had in Edinburgh and the Thai Green Curry is very tasty as well. Be prepared to share a table with other people since they have big long tables and the chance are you'll seated next to strangers. Overall, if you're a fan of Thai food don't miss this place as you'll love it!
I came here for lunch with a friend, I've to admit that walking past for I don't know how many times I always thought it was more like a cocktail bar as it has a very hipster look. I had some prawn noodle, very good and not too spicy which is good for me! The price was fine considering position and location, I'll go back!

I was taken here for the first time for lunch, I have walked passed this place so many times as its pretty much right next door, its like a more chilled, slow paced and comforting wags, the portions are reasonable, and the company you meet at the table is lovely. From students to professional individuals, the rice and small platters are comfortably filling, weather you are a spicy or non spicy, something for everyone. Great for a quick eat!
My new favourite place for lunch in Edinburgh. It can get incredibly busy so expect a little bit of wait but trust me, it's so worth it. On my first visit I ordered the Khao Mun Gai Tod which was just the tasted dish I have had in a long time. On my second visit I, erm, ordered the same thing. That's how much I loved it. The chicken was cooked wonderful and was full of flavour. A little on the spicy side but not too much if you are a wuss like me. Price wise, it's incredibly reasonable and I was almost surprised by it. If you can handle a little bit of a wait, get along!
We had to wait outside for about 20 mins for a table, but it was worth it. Really nice food at a reasonable price. Service was quick and friendly even though it was a busy lunchtime.
Cute little thai place that's always crowded (first come, first serve policy) that is totally worth waiting outside for half an hour. Its a dine and dash sort of place. Strongly recommend the Pad Thai noodles with King Prawns.. Satisfies that spicy food craving. Perfect place for travelers on a budget!
Tasty Thai food. Reasonable price. Great Staff. The place was packed so we had to wait a little bit but it was worth the wait. We had to reject a dish that came out covered in spicy sauce, not recommended for a child, but they were cool enough to take the dish away and served us a new dish right away.
Seriously delicious Thai food where the staff are friendly and the service is quick.Ā Delivered in take-away boxes the portions are generous, freshĀ and smellĀ amazing. This place is always busy but try grab a seat by the window. I had the Khoa Mun Gai Tod ā shallow fried chicken with ginger, garlic, grated coconut, cucumber & shallot salad and jasmine rice and the pop chicken. A must return place for lunch and dinner!
I've read about Ting Thai Caravan on a lot of different blogs/articles, so it has been on my 'must eat' list for a while. I can finally say that I've tasted their culinary delights!
We visited Ting Thai Caravan with some family that were visiting from the states (there were 4 of us altogether), and it was a Monday night. It was packed and we had to wait, which we didn't mind but there is no waiting space inside, so we had to wait outside. In the cold. And rain. Not ideal.
However, you think we could have used the 20 minute wait to decide what we were going to order. Everything on the menu sounded amazing and by the time we got inside we still didn't know what we were going to order. We finally decided on 3 Pad Thai's and 1 Thai green curry; we also ordered coconut rice and some sweet potato crispies.
The Pad Thai's come in a takeaway box which adds to the relaxed atmosphere of the restaurant. Everything was delicious but the portions are very generous and we couldn't eat everything. The Pad Thai was great but the menu sounded so good that I will definitely have to try a different dish on my next visit. The Thai green curry had a great flavour, but it was pretty spicy! The price is very reasonable, especially considering the large portion sizes and the big flavours.
If anyone is looking for a place to meet friends, relax and enjoy some great Thai food, I would definitely recommend Ting Thai Caravan.
Great street food-style Thai cuisine from Ting Thai Caravan - slow braised pork and a lemongrass and ginger juice. Quick, tasty and reasonably priced food. Well worth a trip to the old town.
It was a sunny day and we were craving for lunch so I and my boyfriend decided to fill our tummies with some Thai food. We went to ting Thai caravan and quickly grabbed our menus. The spicy food caught our attention and we ordered a chicken platter and some sea food platter. It was very tasty with perfect combination of sweet and sour flavors. Good place for spicy Thai food
My hunger could have turned me into a cannibal but I somehow managed to park my car out of the traffic jam in front of this restaurant. Quickly grabbing the menu I ordered some chicken with soup as starter. The soup was served almost in no time. It was tasty and increased my appetite. The main course arrived as soon as I finished my soup. What a perfect Thai meal it was.

Ting Thai Caravan April 2015
A Delightful Tuk-Tuk Shop
Weāre handed menus as we walk through the door and left to our own devices for a little too long, lost in the crowd. But this gives us ample opportunity to tackle the double sided A4 sheet that constitutes the menu. Ting Thai has a lot on offer and all of it looks appealing.
Very relaxed atmosphere and love that the food comes in takeaway boxes. Had chicken pad Thai and it was the nicest pad Thai I have ever had! Very cheap prices for such nice food. Would definitely go again
This place was meant to be a festival pop up but with the people of Edinburgh queueing out the door it's no wonder they've stayed open. They don't take reservations so it's on a first come first served basis and they love a bit of communal dining. The menu us extensive and packed full of fantastic choices. I opted for the beef pad Thai and it was amazing. The beef well cooked and tender, the noodles and sauce were packed full of flavour. It's not fancy dining, infact your meal is served in takeaway cardboard boxes but this just adds to the charm of it all. Definitely worth a visit if your looking for great thai food at great prices!
The first time I came here I loved the good, after living in thailand for two years, it's bang on the real thing- however, I was sorely disappointed by the service the first time round.
However, on the back of the food, I gave it a second shot. I was pleasantly surprised. The staff had completely changed and were really friendly and accommodating to my veggie needs. My only down point- their veg pad Thai isn't veggie, which they didn't tell me first time round :/.
Nonetheless, best Thai food in Edinburgh. However, be warned, they don't accept cards. Cash only.
Loved this place. Very metropolitan but not stuffy and super inexpensive. The food was amazing! Highly recommended.

The menu is an unending list of drool-worthy Thai classics. S.O. and I were dining for lunch and our perusal of the menu went something like: 'that one, no that one, what about that one? We will just have to come back. That one. We will come back.' It was taking us aeons to decide so we ordered a few bits to start: 'Yam Sam Krob' (crispy prawn and squid with chilli and lime), Peak Gai Kao Prik ("bangkok" spicy chicken wings), Roasted Young Coconut Juice and Lemongrass and Ginger Lychee Juice. The starters were really yummy nibbly bits, although the crackling the accompanied the prawn and squid was a little chewy and the drinks were incredibly sweet. But the crackling was a bonus and we're not really big juice people anyway.
Amazing amazing amazing!! I've been to Thailand so I can honestly say it's the best Thai food I've had outside of Thailand. I didn't even care that each time we went we had to que in the rain, it's worth when you get inside with a Singa beer and hot tasty food! Yum!!
Best Thai food in town! Me and my partner have been to Thailand so we know what to compare it too and I am happy to say it's like a little Thailand in Edinburgh. Top dish Thai beef salad. So good!
Wow! I was so pleased when my friend mentioned to try here as he had heard amazing things about this place in Edinburgh. I had heard of this place too but hadn't spoken to anyone who had been. I called to make a booking for 2 people and was informed on the phone they didn't take bookings and we were to just turn up.Ā
We had a night planned for dinner and then the cinema so we were anxious to get there straight after work one Friday to ensure we got a table! Luckily we did although it was packed and pretty soon after we arrived there was a queue out the door for tables.
The set up inside is pretty cool, it is more like benches so you are seated next to other people and the place is small inside so i would be reluctant to try and eat here as a group! The vibe is quite 'fast paced' in that we were too busy catching up and not looking at the menu we were asked about 4 times if we were ready to order. As we hadn't been before we asked how the menu worked and they explained that everything would come out at once as opposed to starter then main course. So we decided to order two snack boxes, two main courses and two rice dishes and decided to share everything. Ā As with any new Thai place I try, I just had to go with the green curry and coconut rice and I am so glad I did!! I have now found my favourite place for a green curry-just a shame it is so hard to get a table here! The beef strips dish my friend ordered was great too, but I have to say the two snack boxes we had were disappointing and mainly salad with a few pieces of meat. If i went back I definitely wouldn't order a snack box again.Ā
Brilliant evening though, the staff were super lovely and very laid back despite it being so busy. Also they only accept cash so we had to nip out to the nearest cash machine to pay our bill.
The Halal: Oh yeah baby you better believe it I found halal food in Edinburgh! Beef and Chicken are halal. Itās a hip joint and you will find alcohol on the menuā¦ And quite a bit more pork than is often seen in Thai restaurants.
The Place: Well Iām walking through Old Town in between Fringe shows and desperately in need of a food pick-me-up. I walk past a cool place, itās hipster with an industrial looking interior which transports me back to that familiar Shoreditch vibe Iāve become so accustomed to. And not unfamiliar to a Londonder, thereās a 20 minute queue outside the door. Now if I was in London I wouldnāt have batted an eyelid but queuing for a restaurant in Edinburgh is not something Iāve ever had to do! Much to my husbandās horror I get myself in line.. Of course, I want to know what all the fuss is about!
The Food: The food is simple Thai cooking. Thereās a rapid turnaround of tables so donāt expect fine dining or exquisite service, the poor waiters are rushing around like nobodyās business. Perhaps Iād compare it to Busaba but with the novelty of not being a chain and the whole atmosphere is much edgier.
Now the real business of food. The spicy beef salad with red onions, chillies, roasted rice, mint and parsley was wonderfully light and refreshing. The salad was served in a take-away brown box which I found very cute but my husband found a bit pointless given it was a sit-down meal.
The Gai Cha Plu was served the same way. This was a grilled chicken dish which was marinated in lemongrass, ginger, cha plu leaf and coconut. Again, it was extremely light and perfectly seasoned. The chicken wasnāt overcooked at all which is always a concern when the strips are cut so thin.
The star of this Edinburgh Fringe show though was the Nua Yam Talay, a grilled rump steak with king prawns seasoned with lime, chilli and palm sugar. Rump isnāt usually my preferred cut when it comes to steak but I was so impressed with this. The beef was succulent and oozing spicy Thai juices. We accompanied our meats with plain rice and wok fried vegetable noodles which were cooked well.
Unfortunately, we had to dash off to make our next show but I could have stayed and eaten lots more. Luckily Iām often in Edinburgh visiting family so I know Iāll be back again soon.
The Price: A real steal at only a tenner a head! Ting Thai caravan was excellent value for money.
The Verdict: You donāt have to be a genius to do the math. Ting Thai Caravan has is all: picturesque Edinburgh, a relaxed and cool ambience, tasty authentic Thai food and itās ridiculously well-priced. Iām so happy I stumbled across this little treasure and canāt wait to go back!
I have been here a couple of times and enjoyed the food but not as much as i had expected to given the hype. If you get there before 5pm (i think) alot of dishes are cheaper but not smaller in portion.
My second visit was with a group of girls from 3 different countries that came to visit me in Edinburgh. We ordered loads and the girls love it so much we went for a second round some of sides/starters. It was a fun meal.
I have found the staff hit and miss in service. They can come across to cool to care about customer service but if you do manage to engage them they can be really lovely.
As I said the food is good but not stand out for me so I cant recommend any delicious dish but I can advise that the pork and sticky rice balls were very disappointing. I pictured deep fried rice balls with a pork center but it wasn't it was pork and rice pureed together and deep fried, buy the looks or it.Ā
The prawns on a stick were not my thing either but I'm not a massive prawn lover, others in the group love them and reordered them. The famous deep fried egg starter was also a let down, the whole group thought so.
We loved some dishes so we reordered a second portion but found that they tasted different to the originals and in this indecent it wasn't up to scratch on the first helping.
Ting Thai is a street food restaurant that has its roots as a pop-up, which appeared at various addresses, including nearby Forrest Road, during Edinburghās Festival Fringe in recent years. The soot-colored exterior is dark and brooding, the signage is understated.Ā The menu divided into categories including Rice & Noodle, Soup Bowl, Other Box, Sides, Beer/Wine Snacks and Small Box, but for the past month they have been operating a reduced menu to cope with the festival hordes descending every day!
We settled on four boxes to share between the two of us two starters, and a main course each. These arrived all at the same time, each in a cardboard take-away box. I had the prawns - nestled on a salad of lettuce, chilli and shallots, the bubble prawns are my favourite. You get 3 in the box and they are really well priced at Ā£3.60. Sweet potato crispies (we added an extra side order) were just perfect as were our chilli squid and crispy pork.
Onto mains and my Steak and prawn dish was really tender and tasty. A little on the spicy side and just how I like it! I had it with a coconut rice and the boy had the moo yang (Ā£7.80, also available as a smaller portion for Ā£5.20). Though the pair of pork cutlets were huge with a caramelised coating of sesame, honey and palm sugar. Singha beer topped off our meal and it was very reasonable at Ā£20 per person.
I love this place for its exciting tasty food at such affordable prices in a really fun easy going atmosphere. The food does vary with some days being seriously spicy and others not so! Still great either way.

FOMO is widely recognised as one of the greatest ailments of modern society in the West, and I must say that I am certainly prone to it when it comes to eating out. For months, all of my friends have been talking about Ting Thai Caravan. Rumoured to be run by the same folks that brought Edinburgh The Outsider and The Apartment, it's another devilishly disguised outfit, with a black front and luminescent lights beckoning from the dim interior. Throughout the last semester, every time I have walked past TTC, at all hours of the day, it has been heaving, often with people queuing out the door. This just isn't my dining style, so I waited. And waited. Until one day I could wait no more. Luckily, now that the student hordes (of which I am a part) have cleared out, it's not so soul-destroyingly packed and we found a lovely bench to spread out at.
Whilst we waited for these to arrive, we settled on our mains. Yam Moo Yang (grilled marinated thai-style pork) and Massaman Ped (duck massaman curry) with some rice to share. Firstly, we were amazed by the excellent prices. Ā£5 (approx.) for lunch seems really wonderful with a menu this special. With all the extras our bill was just over Ā£20 which is a real bargain in our eyes, and minus the juice and starters we would have been in the money (even more than we were already).
So when our mains arrived, with our tastebuds piqued, we embarked on our taste crusade. The pork was very yummy with delicious flavours, apparent visually as well as in the taste - that paired with a spot of rice would do me nicely and day of the week. But both s.o. and I thought the massaman curry was truly excellent. Wave after wave of delicate flavours paired with the most falling-apart-tender duck you can imagine. Truly a delightful dish and worth the extra two or so quid (most lunch dishes fall around the Ā£5 mark as mentioned previously, but the duck is a fixed Ā£7.30).
The verdict. Plus plus plus. It is top of my thai scale now, although s.o. still prefers Leven's for it's formality. But if you want an elbows up, chow down experience in a cool setting with great tasting, reasonably priced food: Ting Thai Caravan is your man.

Yummy š¤¤ in my tummy at Ting Thai Caravan
First time experiencing Thai food in a buzzing and cool shop just right by McEwan Hall. The restaurant serves Thai street food. Nice selection of menus. Dishes were well presented. staff are friendly. The venue is not big so you expect to share table in the canteen style.
Overall great experience šš¼
Incredible authentic Thai food in the heart of Edinburgh for extremely reasonable prices. Our waiter was patient and kind and even gave us recommendations for places to visit and stores to shop at in Edinburgh. We loved each of our meals and ended up going again the next day. I would absolutely recommend the Pad See Ew with chicken; it wasn't overly sweet or full of noodles like many Pad See Ew's I've had in the past; it was chock-full of complex flavors with a variety of vegetables and Thai chili. If you're in Edinburgh and around the central district, you need to stop by this place.
The food was delicious. The waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu and helped us choose two great dishes. The curry was amazing! Another great restaurant to visit while in Edinburgh.
More of a Thai fusion, this place is legit good and fast. A couple of order mistakes, but the manager was very apologetic and helpful. The food was hot and tasty. Very filling.
Every time I come to Edinburgh I have to visit this place. Favourite pad Thai in the UK. Really beautiful flavours with nice textures and crunch to the food. The portions are amazing and most of the time people have to take it away as they canāt finish. The slow cooker pork was a winner and the rice soft and flavoursome. We also had vegetables on the side to compliment the dish and they worked beautifully together. Iād highly recommend here. Must try. Beware sometimes the queue is super long!
I've been here twice and the food is good, tasty and well made. I do think it's overpriced comparatively though, even with fringe prices, and the staff are busy so abrupt.
Super yummy and affordable Thai food! We went around 5PM on a Thursday evening, and it was not packed. They also donāt take any reservation. My only complaint was that the pad-see-ew came in a takeaway box. Seems very wasteful to be used on customers who are dining in.
If you want a quick Thai respite from EDB, this is the place to be. Simply amazing. Food and taste is very authentic. Donāt hesitate to try the chai thai cided tea and lemongrass drinks! Doesnāt hold back on proper ingredients. The staff are adorably fast, friendly, and efficient! And affordable and superb value for money. Beats every other foodstop around the city so far. Keep up the excellent work so far! ā¤ļøšš¼
I love this place. Theyāre waiters are lovely, the music is great and the whole vibe is fun. The menu is massive and great if you are vegetarian as you can sub most meat for tofu and vice versa. Similarly, loads of gluten free options. Only downsides - you often have to queue, their flavoured negroni is a bit too strong on the lemongrass/ lychee and you have to pay for rice separately which always puts me off the curry
Good pad Thai and curry! It's in a good location, and priced reasonably. The noodles came in a take out box, which I found a bit weird, but it still tasted good! Walkable to the university.
Ok, we come from a place with tons of Thai food options. Ting Thai is a good thai restaurant. But, I am used to being able to choose my spicy level, but they did not do that here. I asked for extra spicy for my pad thai, but unfortunately, it wasn't spicy at all (at least for me, for others, it may be perfect). For those used to ordering by star level, I am usually a 5 star person just for reference. They did give me some hot peppers for a little kick, but it was not enough for me. She did mention they had a hotter pepper if that wasn't enough, but I wasn't able to flag her down for it (it was pretty busy). Even without the spicy, it was very good pad thai.
My husband got the moo yang, but it seemed to be missing something, and it didn't quite match the description. The crispy sweet potatoes were delicious, though.
All in all, the meal was very good and I do think most people would be very happy, I just happen to really like very spicy Thai food.
Sometimes very bust place but really good service and great friendly staff! Good regarding food allergies. Tasty food. Highly recommend!
Food was delicious with a good price point, service was friendly. Most Thai restaurants in Western countries are too localised in terms of flavour, but Ting Thai strikes a good balance. Especially loved the massaman curry and beef salad.
The food here is amazing! Service was very swift and we were seated very quickly.
Absolutely delicious food, very good balance of flavours. Service was great. Only small criticism was the pork dish I ordered was two whole pork chops and would have been more convenient if they had been sliced after cooking to make it easier to eat as cutting them in a bowl was tricky. Otherwise probably one of the nicest meals I've had in Edinburgh
