Our lockdown brunch delivery!
You must make sure you place your order at least 48 hours in advance on their website to get a delivery slot. If you stay within Edinburgh city, the Pantry allows you to choose which day (Friday - Sunday) to have your brunch delivered on. However, if you live a little further outside the city, they do offer delivery to the Lothians, but will only deliver on specific days (so best to double-check before ordering, so you don't miss out!). When your delivery date finally arrives, the delivery is made (contactless of course!) earlier in the morning to allow you to have it all ready in time for brunch that same day!
We each received our own portion along with personalised instructions on how to heat them up. Since the Pantry had done most of the hard work for us already, all we had to do was warm the waffles and bacon through. We put them in the oven at 180ºC for around 5 - 10 minutes.
Before ordering, we had worried that the food wouldn't be up to the same standards that you would have in the restaurant; that the freshness wouldn't be there, that the ingredients wouldn't taste the same or that warming it at home would overcook everything, but luckily we were wrong! The waffles tasted amazing, the bacon still crispy and the blueberry compote mixed perfectly with the maple syrup to create a taste so close to the Pantry magic we have always loved.
Although the menu is limited, there is something for everyone - we guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
Excellent service and food! Perfect in every way!
If you are looking for a tasty brunch with great service then this is definitely the place to go! Food was absolutely delicious and a reasonable price. Their iced coffees were perfect and how an iced coffee should be! Staff were super friendly and very attentive. We most definitely will be coming back again!
I’ve lived less than 3 minutes walk away from The Pantry for the last year now and it’s taken me all this time to pay them a visit. I pass it most days and it’s always busy especially at weekends and on days when the sun shines you’ll be lucky to find a free table and seats outside.
Visited for a beautiful and delicious brunch on a recent trip! It gets very busy, so do be prepared to wait for a table (the surrounding areas is beautiful for a wander whilst you wait!) I had a fabulous Scottish hot smoked salmon, on avocado toast with a poached egg & lovely Chai tea. The food themed posters and decor was also great.
First time trying haggis and black pudding... I think I shall opt for the usual English breakfast... The Scots definitely have too unique cravings that is not quite suitable for me! Good try though... Now I know I don't like it. Pimp My Fried (£11). Cured streaky bacon, pork sausages, Stornaway BP haggis, free range egg, beans, roasted thyme tomato, mushrooms.
We went there on Easter Sunday! The staff were super friendly and accommodated us fairly easily even though we were a table of 6! They have a really interesting menu, there's some twists on their typical breakfast platters. I had the Sunshine on Stockbridge as well as the Epic Waffles! The Sunshine on Stockbridge was really good but the Epic Waffles lacked taste!
I really love brunch. Like, really love brunch. And it excites me when I find somewhere that loves this wonderful weekend meal like I do.
Despite technically being in Stockbridge, The Pantry is a mere stones throw away from Princes Street so is a great choice for someone spending the day in the centre.
Expect all the normal lovely brunchy things- poached eggs, artisan toast, avocados... I went for the Breakfast Quesadilla, a yummy mexican-style toastie containing chorizo, ham and mushroom, topped with a poached egg and guacamole. My friend chose Sunshine Over Stockbridge, which was a slice of chunky toast topped with roasted vine tomatoes and avocados. Yummy!
The portions aren't massive but certainly enough for a good midday bite. With a kids' play area as well, this is a good choice for big and little foodies alike.
#brunch at The Pantry - scrambled eggs, chorizo sausages and guacamole! Delicious. Rich coffee and brilliant little milk jugs. Well worth a visit.
I think the reviews on here are a little harsh.. Staff were pleasant throughout our visit and (unlike other posts) we were given a menu immediately on arrival.
Great vegetarian selection, I had the veg eggs Benedict with asparagus. My only complaint was that one if the eggs could have done with being a teeny bit more done, and another slice of bread would have been good (as you only got the one).
Fantastic. Had an early dinner here on Saturday night and was blown away by the food. I had the whiskey smoked salmon which was cut in chunks rather than the thin slices I've had before - what a lovely texture; followed by the best pork belly I have ever tried. My husband, who can be quite fussy, was really pleased with is pigeon breast to start and trout main course. It's a relax unpretentious place that makes amazing food at reasonable prices - what a recipe for success - a must try if you're in town. To top it off, BYOB and corkage at £2 per person is a great deal.
Best brunch in Edinburgh! Try the beetroot or ham hock hash - the kedgeree is amazing too! The menu is full of excellent, fresh, Scottish produce. Do not leave Edinburgh without a visit!
they’re starting from a really nice level, with welcoming staff, a well crafted menu, and a good, relaxed feel to the place
We visited the Pantry on monday and had a fantastic lunch. The menu was varied and we could have probably ordered anything from the menu and enjoyed it. The only downside was it was a little bit noisey but this would be our only complaint.

The Pantry is one of the latest additions to the Stockbridge culinary scene, and what a time it is for the area. Recently voted the 3rd coolest place to live in the UK the area is alive with some of the trendiest and most relaxed eateries in the city. The Pantry falls into this category for sure.
From the menu you see above the keep it small, seasonal and achievable. You won't see 30 items here just a great combination of fresh and local produce.
For starters my dining chum and I both opted for the crab & smoked salmon gazpacho! What a great dish, fresh gazpacho with fresh crab and a light smokey salmon all come together to create a great summer dish. The seasoning was spot on, just can't fault it.
For main I had the hogget with mash, seasonal greens and sauce vierge. Seasoned pink lamb, smooth mash, capers, lemon.....mint...... YUMM!!! Really it's as tasty as it looks. The lamb was so tender, again for what is a very modest place this was an accomplished dish and is the kind of food you want to demolish!
My dining chum had squid stuffed with rice, I only tried a little but again very tasty.
For desert I think made a mistake.... I had the cheese and it was very tasty as cheese goes but check this out......
Rhuuuuubarb, pannacotta wow!! Looked great, tasted great, could have been a desert in a much fancier much more expensive restaurant. These guys are really working hard and it's paying off.
To get a 3 course meal for £30 in Stockbridge is always a win in my book! It's BYOB and topping it off with a bottle from Australia's coolest wine makers Some Young Punks made for a great night.
The Pantry - Highly Jd Recommended!!!
amazing, amazing....just bloody amazing
super service.....there just for a long week end in my favorite city of the UK.
the food is just perfect and OMG that dessert of the day (not on the menu....but recommended.
flavour of a sticky toffee pudding made a foam and dropped on perfect french toast.... all covered with amazing fresh strawberries and strawberry coulis....;WHAT ELSE?
a massive big smile.....
thanks again....
Pantry is one brunch place I always recommend to people as they do one of the best waffles I’ve had! I love the chilled vibes and during summer it’s nice to take a book and grab a seat outside while having something. Staff are very friendly and their food is unreal. You know they use quality ingredients when you try the food. I’ll be back soon again.
I had the No Small Fry, best black pudding and tomatoes I’ve ever had. Egg could’ve been runnier but overall very very good. Presentation was beautiful. My partner had a Roll with bacon and hashbrown, it was very yummy and great value she said. Highly recommended
One of two factors by which I judge a restaurant is 1) the restaurant should be full with people and 2) there should be several items on the menu that I would want. The Pantry satisfies both. On a Tuesdays midday the restaurant was buzzing with activity. The halloumi and braised lamb were outstanding.
Excellent breakfast. The Pantry Dry was a huge amount of food and all was delicious. The bacon was especially good -- not sure how they prepared it but it was so addictive!
The lamb and eggs Benedict with smoked salmon were mind blowing. Every single bite made me want more. Also the matcha latte was quite good.
I have got the sunshine on Stockbridge and coconut milk latte. I liked the combination of the plate but I wish if they add a sourdough bread to it or on the side.
I’d go back to try the other dishes
This place is awesome! My husband and I were looking for a good breakfast/brunch place while visiting Edinburgh and thought we’d check The Pantry out. Their food was delicious and their service was very friendly. We shared the U.S.A and Sunshine On Stockbridge (with bbq chorizo). Both were really tasty and beautifully presented. Definitely worth a visit!
Had a full breakfast £15 and a latte £3.75. 10% service charge automatically added on top which I wasn’t too pleased about. I will decide on whether a tip is due or not. The latte was the smallest I’ve had in a long time. The breakfast was nice apart from the sausages that lacked taste. For £15 I’d have hoped for a slice of toast but that was extra £1.50. Perhaps give a bit less haggis and pudding and add some toast.
We read that it normally gets busy but we got a table at the very moment we arrived. Food was delicious and the staff very friendly. Good atmosphere and prices. I want to come back and try more food from their menu.
