Fantastic food and 5star service
The Food was amazing , the service from our waiter was 1st class ,we were a party of 6 ,catching up with our son and his friend who are at uni in Edinburgh.Will be returning again on our next visit .
ASK Italian now has well over 100 restaurants in the UK and we’d eaten in the Glasgow Springfield Quay (now since closed) and the Tudor-styled Shrewsbury branch but both of those occasions were years ago, so when we were invited along to try out their recently opened restaurant in Edinburgh’s west-end we thought a visit and review was overdue and so we turned up on a busy weekday night and were taken to our table by a young and enthusiastic waitress.
I spotted the arrival of ASK Italian on Shandwick Place, a couple of months ago, but it hadn’t particularly given me the “come hither†stare. However, I was confident that an occasion to visit would arise and so it proved, today. Today’s guest quester was Ross, who was along for the fantastic meal that L’Escargot Blanc owner Fred Berkmiller had treated us to a few months back. It was basically a nose to tail exploration of short-horn and wagyu beef which was quite remarkable.
Very nice Italian restaurant! We were only in Edinburgh for one night and as soon as we saw it decided to eat there right away! A little pricey but the food was delicious! All cooked fresh and full of flavour! Really friendly staff and fast service, especially Freya who was our very kind waitress!
Service was amazing. Food was delicious too. The staff were really friendly. Kitchen staff were smiling too! There were two young girls that served us who were lovely. Sang happy birthday to my sister and made her birthday meal special! Thank you!
Full Hearted Italian 🫶🏼 Our first dine here in Edinburgh is definitely satisfying. Great place, sumptuous lunch and thanks to Amanda and her team for their warm hospitality. The food is sooo good that we opt for take away! 😋 Great services! 🥰 A must visit! ❤️
Lovely experience! We ordered a vegetarian carbonara with mushrooms instead of bacon and they made it perfectly fresh and it tasted amazing. The service was super good. We enjoyed our dinner here very much.
Very good authentic Italian food.Truffle revoli was Amazing. Stuffed mushrooms with mozzarella cheese temptating.carbonara Pasta was good.Tiramisu is my all time favorite.
They serve shot of welcome drink.
Staff is very humble and friendly. They really take care of customer. Location is very good. Toilets 🚻 are very clean.
Had a good lunch here. Starters were tasty but a bit dry. Mains were very nice, we both enjoyed a pasta dish for the main course, sauce sticks well to the "frilly tagliatelle ". The new dip & dunk pasta was popular with our toddler as she got to add the sauce & cheese herself. Cocktails were good, restaurant is clean and bright, and the staff were very friendly. Perhaps a little expensive, but we used a voucher from Tesco points that made it a bit of a bargain!

Restaurant was bright and clean. Food was great, worth the wait (there was a massive family table in, but food still came out in less than half an hour) you can order food and pay from the table which is very handy. The carbonara was amazing I’d definitely have it again. Also tried the in house still raspberry lemonade and it was excellent.

Great Italian restaurant, great food, I eat a pollo pizza and my girlfriend some Carbonara both were great and for dessert we tried backed chocolate gnocchi which it was..... extremely good. The only thing I didn't like there it was the beer, it was warm. Definitely we will come back there.

I really enjoyed the pizza even though I'm not the biggest pizza fan. I went for the pizza with honey which sounded quite weird to me but it was incredibly delicious! The staff was very lovely as well

Nice varied menu without being too much to pick from. Perfect portions well presented. Staff very helpful. Surprised how light and spacious inside, good for relaxed dining. Only dropped a star, which might seem picky, but prosecco wasn't chilled. Everything else spot on.
Stopped in without a reservation on our last day in Edinburgh. Greeted by a very kind man who sat us and let us sample lemonade. It was delicious. We ordered bread and some mains. It was all so good! T/he portions are very large and the food tasted great. It came out hot and we had to take some home as we couldn't finish it all. I will 100% put this on my list of places to stop when in Edinburgh again!
