What a great find
We decided to find a place to combine rugby watching with great food and drink and came up trumps. Service was great and the food and drinks were excellent. The small plate approach to Italian dining was new to us but we are real converts this style of food which originated in Venice.
Dining out mid week is our new favourite thing. Since moving out of town it’s nicer to meet each other after work and enjoy some tasty food. This midweek date took us to The Westroom in the West End. The Westroom is somewhere you’d walk past and think I need to try there. It has an inviting charm to it and it’s what caught our eye. I’d arrived first and waited for Mr Edinburger to arrive. Inside the interior is smart and airy and they make good use of the space they have. The menu is small and compact but even with the small number of choices it was hard to settle on what we wanted. I’d browsed the cocktail menu waiting for Mr E to arrive and decided that a Betty Martini would do just the trick.
Tucked away in the west end you'll find The Westroom. It's a fantastic wee place which serves from breakfast to dinner and with cocktails in between. They have a small evening menu but small and simple means the food is pretty great. The scotch egg is a winner as was the fish pie. It was packed full of fish and flavour. The steak is well cooked and had no bits you couldn't eat. The cocktails are great here, the Betty Martini certainly blows the cobwebs away! The Westroom is a definitely worth a visit if you're that end of town. The service is great and you;ll be in very comfy surroundings.
The food was unspectacular but tasty enough and the surroundings boosted the dining experience. Over sized fixtures and fittings such as a giant mirror, huge light shades, a shiny bar area and the oversized chalkboard menu
I have often been here for breakfast, brunch, dinner, coffee, and drinks.
Food has always been good- fresh, well prepared and delicious.
Acoustics in the Westroom aren't perfect- which makes it difficult to hear your table partners speak when having dinner.
Nice and relaxed ( more quiet) around brunch time though. Coffee is good too- if only they would have sweetners :)
They serve it with a biscuit and Their coffee cups and wee milk jugs look lovely.
Atmospheric contemporary restaurant.
Great to meet there for a coffee and a chat, a beer and a natter or a glass of wine and a catch up.
For lunch try one of their fabulous burgers. Definitely the best in Edinburgh.
I've been here a couple of times for meetings. Sitting under the giant lampshade makes me feel like a borrower. Biscuits with tea and coffee make me happy.
Went to The Westroom last night for a lil Christmas party and thoroughly enjoyed it the atmosphere was great and the decor is cool - the menu is simple but a nice selection and I was excited to learn of a new place for breakfast :)
I had monkfish scampi and loved it friends had the steak burger and it was delicious - cannot fault the Westroom and will definetly be going back :)
Staff are great too really friendly and welcoming !
Love it xx
Lovely place for lunch - recommend the scallop and asparagus risotto. Great service too. Breakfast menu looks ace, might come back tomorrow!
Fabulous place, amazing food at great prices. More importantly fantastic staff who are keen, attentive and happy. Will be back soon ❤️
Superb experience at this wonderful find in a guidebook.
We rang ahead to book a table and when we arrived were greeted by very friendly bar staff inviting us to our seats.
The selection of Italian style tapas then was almost endless. Divided into clear to define sections, we settled on both styles of croquettes which were equally delectable and the arancini which perfectly delicious. Mains we chose pasta which were wonderful too, but the whole time you could really taste all the ingredients were really fresh and delicious.
Then we were roped into the pub quiz going on which really sealed the deal. A wondeful hilarious evening with superb food. I will be back.
Good menu choice and enjoyed the food. One less star for Guinness being unavailable and also it was a bit chilly. Glad I had a sweater on.
Lovely find, 6 minute walk from Dean village. Excellent friendly and prompt service and the food was authentic Italian and amazing.
Just had dinner with a friend. Service was friendly and never felt rushed. The king prawns are amazing as are the sweet potato croquettes. Prices very reasonable too. Will definitely be back.
This is our go to comfort food and chill atmosphere place in Edinburgh. Karan is a fabulous bartender and server. Highly recommended.
Super prompt service for a pre theatre dinner. Food was fab and were very well attended too. Lovely place that gives an overall intimate experience.
Underrated breakfast/brunch spot in city centre at the weekend.
Great food and reasonably priced menu.
Service was fantastic, staff were friendly and chatty.
Very good experience. Food was tasty, and the service was incredible. The Bar Manager is exceptional.
Best restaurant I’ve been in Edinburg. The main course was proper gourmet!! Excellent attention, we’ve been looked after amazingly, very nice staff, specially Ritesh, who I’d like to recognise and thank. Beautiful environment too. Delicious and worth it!!
Great quality food and very reasonable prices. Good Service as well. Highly recommend trying it out!
My first visit here and I’ll definitely be back. Varied menu, delicious pasta, great portion sizes and a really comfortable, cosy atmosphere. Would recommend for drinks with nibbles or a relaxed evening meal.
My favorite Italian in Edinburgh. Always amazing service, great value, and the best gluten free pasta.
What an amazing place.
We were looking for s place gluten free and vegan, and the options we got here were amazing.
The service is impeccable!!
My new favourite local, good old fashioned service, nice wine, great food and awesome west end vibes!
delicious, authentic food, possibly the only cicchetti venue in Edinburgh, friendly knowledgeable staff, great vibe, will go back again.
Everything we had was fantastic, but especially the ravioli of the day - sweet potato ricotta. Absolutely delish, would highly recommend!
The food was all fantastic (with a special shout-out to the Broad bean and avocado bruschetta and the Fritto Misto de Pesce)
Delicious food and a nice atmosphere. Roast potatoes with pancetta and Parmesan were particularly good!
