Great bar
Had lunch here on our first day of our break, great meal Haggis tatties and neeps good choice of beers, staff friendly and helpful, wonderful atmosphere.
Best sticky toffee pudding ever! Completely satisfied my random craving one day. Lovely staff, nice ambience and the tendency to get quite packed. Good craic.
Absolutely Scottish :) you should definitely visit this pub located at the heart of the old town if you want to taste "Haggis" with a very affordable price! We tried very-very yummy haggis and enormously big fish&chips at the Albanach for our dinner. and the day after, we ate the same dishes at the same place :) No regret!!
Comes with oak cakes and a little jug of whisky sauce. Very tasty & filling.
Fantastic Atmosphere. Fantastic Haggis!. We've been going to this pub for the past few years every time we visit Edinburgh. They have the best haggis ever - I highly suggest you give it a go if you haven't tried it before.
The staff are really friendly and helpful. We absolutely love this place!
We stopped by for lunch and it was quite nice. The menu has a nice range to select from and from the look at the bar, lots of choice of drinks. The food took over half an hour to arrive but when I asked one of the staff how much longer it would be, she was really friendly and apologetic, and went to find out how much longer it was going to be.
Lovely city centre pub, where we only stopped for a pint at lunch but really enjoyed the vibe. Great whisky selection.
After arriving in Edinburgh in the afternoon and finding ourselves being quite hungry we found ourselves in this pub on the Royal Mile ready to enjoy traditional Scottish food. 5 of us were quite lucky to find a table here as the pub was quite full with a lot of patrons. The ambiance was fantastic. After perusing the menu we opted to have chicken wings with Frank’s hot sauce, beer battered onion rings, steak & ale pie, fish and chips, sausage and mash and flat iron steaks. Every dish was quite good except for the steaks. Being a connoisseur of steaks myself I found my rare steak quite dry and tough. I was quite disappointed by the portion size and the quality of the steak. It was not worth £ 17.99 I paid for it. I would not recommend it to anyone. A great pub for drinks and pub grub but not for steaks.
Reasonable pub food, great atmosphere, very friendly team.
Cozy pub with really nice food & staff. They have a fast knowledge of their whiskeys and cocktails, and were in for a bit of banter on the side. They take their time for you.
We had such a lovely experience at Albanach! We purchased a flight of whiskeys and the bartender took the time to listen to our taste in whiskey to craft the perfect flight. He was so kind, informative, and fun to chat with about all things whiskey! We are from the land of bourbon (Kentucky, USA), so we really appreciated his knowledge and kindness.
Sol was great to us. He made my girlfriend a delightful gin martini and walked me through some fine scotch selections. Nice atmosphere to the bar and great knowledge of the offerings.
Lovely!! It was very honest pub food. People where super nice and the food was amazing. Definitely wanna come back here!!
Bustling Scottish pub. It took us 45 min to get a seat, but was worth it. Haggis sausages and mash tasted great.
Jenny was amazing 🤩 attentive and so prompt! Service was so quick. Such a pleasant atmosphere!
I wandered into the Albanach on a whim this evening, and was delighted to find that they had an exceptional range of whiskies and assorted spirits. Tye teak were very welcoming and knowledgable - particularly Hamish, who is a very entertaining and handsome guy.... I would.
Kate is absolutely lovely too, funny and bouncy energy with good knowledge of the beers and a great sense of humour. Although he mentioned how good his crack was and that was a little weird. Also jenny was cool I guess...
Nice atmosphere pub. With a menu. Lovely people serving you relatively good fried food. A lot of beer’s to choose between. No parking. Gluten-free alternative
A nice restaurant with great service on the Royal Mile! Our group enjoyed both food and whisky here! There are so many choices of whisky that our group kept sampling 🤣!
Went in for a few drinks, was very busy but the atmosphere was good. The staff were friendly and chatty, we felt very welcomed and comfortable.

Stopped in here for a quick drink, didn’t have food. So many whiskey’s to choose from!!! Nice atmosphere and good bar staff.
Stopped here for lunch on a cold miserable day. We had our dog in tow and when entering this pub there was a big welcome for the dog. We ordered food and while waiting the staff engaged in conversation and assisted me in choosing a whiskey of which they have many. The good was outstanding. I had the steak and ale pie.
All in all a very welcoming experience and good food and drink to boot. Strongly recommend this pub for food and or drink.
