The Compass - Edinburgh - Photo album

Very good choice of beers and "bad apple" cider 😉 Plenty spirits Good tunes relaxed atmosphere with great bar staff Also the best bar stools in town !!!!(check em out and see what i mean)
Saturday Evening Meal, no reservation and the food was good, dietary/allergy info was lacking which was disappointing. However, desserts were fabulous 🙂
This place is wonderful. A nice roomy atmosphere with cool jazz playing in the background. You are greeted with a warm welcome and lead to your table to settle into relaxing armchairs and given time to scrutinise the menu. On offer are scrumptious snacks including all day breakfasts and delightful p
Very good food, and was awesome to be able to bring the dog to join our meal
Neat, modern place with great food to boot! The staff is genuinely lovely and welcoming, you instantly understand why this gem of a place is popular. We found our way here the first evening of our stay in Edinburgh. We were encouraged to participate in the weekly quiz and had such a blast that we ca
Nice location, clean, good service I had the porridge and my daughter a sausage roll - roll in a sausage not a sausage roll!! - and breakfast tea; all good. Comfy seats, wooden tables. Not slick or shiny but that was lovely. We'll definitely return
Lovely friendly place, super clean and the decor is fantastic! Staff are chatty and attentive but not overbearing. I really like the menu, something for everyone. Special mention for the Halloumi fries.... gorgeous!! Sticky toffee pudding.... sweet but not too much!! And homemade gingerbeer.... del
Food was marvellous. The cola grazed pork belly was tender and juicy. The salmon and cod were nicely cooked. The people who attended to us were friendly and.answered our questions patiently. Would highly recommend this restaurant for quality food and service.
Lovely place and great atmosphere. The service was great and fast. Cola pork belly was really tasty and amazing sticky toffee pudding. Great value for money :) Will definitely recommend it and come back again!
Enjoyed a lovely lunch of sausage sarnie for my husband and a delicious spinach & feta frittata for me. We both had a coke and the bill was £14 - so very reasonable for this side of town. Service with a smile from all the staff means we will definitely be back again :)
Great food, great service! One star deducted. Even though I have asked on 2 occasions for a soft fried egg with the breakfast It has been served hard both times. Such an easy thing to get right but seems to be difficult for lots of places.
Excellent homemade burger, typical late Monday afternoon, quiet, but nice atmosphere. Couple who served us very friendly and cheery. Good choice on Menu for all dietary preferences.
Excellent food, excellent service, did really well to accommodate a large group at short notice. Only tiny nitpick - dish for haggis fritters a little impractical. Would be better on something flat, e.g. plate or slate. Otherwise spot on from start to finish.
We spent a few days in Edinburgh last weekend with our group of friends and booked this restaurant in advance. If you look from outside the restaurant, I initially had my doubts but nothing turns out to be less true. Super cozy decorated restaurant with a 2nd floor that is not visible from outside.
The food and atmosphere were really good. They've got a smoked haddock fish and hand cut chips meal (which I had) and it was amazing. The fish portion was huge and crispy and the chips were just delicious.
A perfect pub. Lovely decor, really decent range of drinks, dog-friendly and great staff and the food looked great too! Lovely fire going and was able to watch Scotland win at the rugby in very welcoming and comfortable surroundings! A fab place and a perfect local for anyone in the area.
We have used the Compass on several occasions over the last few months. Each time the staff have been professional and attentive. We have introduced several different parties to this fabulous Gastro Pub and everyone has enthused about the quality of the food and the ambience of the Compass. We were
I had a scrambled egg and salmon brunch dish, it was very delicious. I really liked the décor as well and for an evening visit there is a good selection at the bar. I have not been to the restaurant area but I'm sure it will live up to the house high standard of the front area
