Scran & Scallie - Edinburgh - Photo album

Probably the best value for money option I had during my trip to Edinburgh. The fish pie, the haggis and the sticky pudding were exceptional! Everything else we tried was also really good. My only objection was with the meat pie as I believe it needed more seasoning maybe but nonetheless I was more
Absolutely amazing place. From the moment you are walk in and are greeted by the staff you know it’s going to be a good experience. All the staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the food. The drink menu is extensive and the food while looking humble and simple is absolutely incredible. I can’
Wonderful food served with great presentation. Make sure you save room for dessert! The service was over the top. Huge selection of drinks. The bar tender was very knowledgeable. He came to the table and helped me pick out a whiskey flight. We went on a Saturday night, make sure you get reservation
Dinner at S&S was one of our favorite meals during our holiday in Scotland. The staff was friendly, the ambience is top notch and the food was great. Highly recommend trying the Haggis, Fish Pie and Toffee Pudding.
The food was great, the atmosphere was nice, the staff went above and beyond to make sure that we are enjoying our time, meeting all our requests. Special thank you to Milan/Dylan (I’m sorry if I didn’t get it right) for making our experience unforgettable.
Absolutely fantastic! We recently visited Edinburgh for the weekend and ate at The Scran and Scallie. The menu is filled with classic gastro pub meal. So not overly pretentious in any way shape or form. I have a mushroom special which was great and beautifully presented. After much deliberation i de
Very well executed Scottish food What a lovely restaurant. Had the scallops and the salmon to start with. The salmon dish was outstanding, great quality, very tasty sauce and bread. Nice scallops maybe slightly bland. Fish and chips was very generous, be careful as the chips arrive super hot (too
Walked in for early dinner, recommend reservations to have good seating and more than an hour at a table. Had a good Salmon on grains & greens dish, couple glasses of wine. Excellent server.
Great food, especially Haggis starter and mushroom toast, amazing steak pie and fantastic selection of beer. Lovely friendly staff who made us very welcome. Highly recommend.
We had a lovely lunch after walking from the Royal Academy of Art. The service was tops and the food was excellent. We both enjoyed. Try the house made ginger beer.
We had a wonderful lunch at this small restaurant in Stockbridge, the mushroom toast was a standout with wild chanterelles, fried egg, crisp bacon, and a veal glace on top of a sourdough toast, delicious! Vegetable sides and a wonderful grilled mackerel rounded out the lunch nicely. Drinks menu incl
4.2 A lovely gastropub in the Stockbridge area of Edinburgh. Service was terrific. Food was good, but not as good as I had anticipated based on other reviews. The seared scallops, fresh oysters and trout rillet were stand outs. The mains were solid. A good, diverse cocktail and wine list as well as
Food was actually quite good except the piece of cold, dry bread to start. I went to this restaurant twice and found the same service issue with the daily specials and the prices were not written down on the menu or a "board". As a result, either the customer had to ask then the server started to me
Cozy restaurant with great drinks, amazing food and exceptional service. Every dish was amazing! Would love to go back and try more dishes. We enjoyed the Cullen skink, fish pie, their chicken special and the sticky toffee pudding. Highly recommend.
Really excellent experience from start to finish. We were very well looked after by Matt and the team for a delicious meal with champagne and wine. The best haggis I've had by far. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough.
First time in Edinburgh and was looking to try a highly recommended dinner spot. Vibe and atmosphere did not disappoint, relaxed family friendly yet still a proper dining experience with fantastic staff. We tried the oysters, scallops, asparagus and cured salmon for appetizers- all were fantastic. A
Excellent food. Getting to experience my first fish pie and a spin on haggis, neeps, and tatties at a gastropub was a real delight. The fish pie was understated but perfectly cooked. Each chunk (and there were plenty!) of salmon and haddock was beautifully cooked beneath a creamy potato topping. T
